Long enough & difficult enough to use every club in the bag
A mostly wide open course - but difficult to get a good score on many greens because they are crowned so your approach just rolls off.
Great course for the money!
Enjoyed the game! Friendly staff. The fairway is a little hard with some few brown spots indicating lack of water. Overall it's a nice course!
Thank goodness it was only $15.00 each!
This was a very hot wed. Afternoon. The course was empty. Arrived ahead of our time and checked in. We were told to wait and not go off before our designated time. We were paired up with another twosome. No problem.. They had the same story about waiting.. No one was around.
Conditions of the cart paths were appalling, Deep holes, no gravel. Two bridges that you had to drive over looked very unsafe. Not enough railing on a foot bridge on the front. Nine. Then to drive up a hill to 10 th tee and after 18, our cart could not get up the hill.
We will never return
Decent Course - but terrible pace of play
It was our first time trying this course so we didn't know what to expect. The 19th hole was empty and the food was terrible. The course itself was actually pretty decent - long holes and well spread out. Our only qualm was with how slow the pace of play was. It took us nearly 6 hours to play 18 holes because there wasn't a single Marshall on the course controlling the speed.
The price was really decent so this course is a good deal if the pace of play is changed.
Great staff/slow play/terrible conditions
The staff was amazingly friendly. Especially one of the marshals who kept meeting us at our tee decks. It was great to chat with him. Pace of play was extremely slow. The conditions of the course we're not very good. The tee decks all had uneven ground and you never felt comfortable. The sand was pretty much dirt. It was hard to distinguish, on most holes, where the fairway ended and the rough began (cut down your fairways). Greens were maybe average. One more thing, why is your greens crew still cutting grass at 11:30am? Get in early, get it done and get out of the way!
Not overly impressed with this course. If I'm looking for a cheap place to practice some shots on terrain that is not optimal I'll be back, maybe. I'd still probably rather a range or a mini putt to practice my putting.
Staff is too rude.
Staff is too rude. That time rate was cheerper than last time..
We thought they didn't like it..
We felt so uncompoterrble and disapointable..
We will not play any more there.
Good value.
Overall I really enjoyed my round. A little dry but all of southern Ontario is.
No complaints
Interesting course but until I arrived unaware paired with another couple. All good but prefer to play in my own company and my issue. The staff were amazingly accommodating and helpful, my son turned up late and allowed us to start again with no additional fees. Very impressed with how accommodating and flexible.
Hard and I don't mean difficult
Usually try this course every couple years or so to see if my memory is wrong or if they've made improvements. No and no are the answers. While the cost was good through Golf Now, I don't think I'll be back for another couple years. I'm not sure they water this course. While 300 yard drives with all the roll are great for the ego, the playability of the course is not. More than a couple holes that seem squeezed in too, making them a bit too clownsmouthish.
dry as a bone
The fairway conditions were similar to playing off concrete. I bent the hozzle of my wedge trying to get under my ball.
Horrendous first experience!
Personally, I will never play here again because it took us almost 6 hours to complete a round and we didn't see a marshal all day to regulate.
I know this can't be blamed entirely on the course itself and more so players but I nearly got hit three times (not exaggerating) by a ball. Fairways/holes are very close to one another, so be on the lookout if you plan on playing here.
Good day
Challenge but wide forgiving fairways
Greens too firm
Greens were too firm-need more watering.
Very challenging greens, rude manager
Greens were challenging as it's very, very hard and uneven to putt on. Only spinny wedge shots will hold on approach shots. Greens were generally small as well, with a few fairly steep ones, while most of them were Pinehurst #2 style - where the fringes are sloped off the green.
Tee boxes are not in good condition. e.g. the grass are not mowed properly and ground uneven.
Pace of play was fairly backlogged going into back-9. Marshalls were probably not doing their job, and I didn't see one the whole round.
The manager (who I assume) was kind of an obnoxious person, who talks down customers. Have that expectation in your mind when you arrive there.
If you're able to overlook and don't mind the above, this is an otherwise good golf course for the value to play on.
This course is set up poorly
I rated this course as extremely challenging, but it had more to do with the conditions of the course. The reason is that not only are the fairways rock hard like cement, but the greens are the same. The greens are really small, therefore, it makes no sense for them to be rock hard, as you cannot stop the ball on the green. Many greens are also elevated and as noted above you cannot land the ball on the green as it will not stay. If you decide to land it in front of the green it either lands really hard and the ball runs over the green, or if you land it short it does not release and you come up short and you are left with having to chip. I played several shots into the middle of the green and neither of them stayed on the green. We are not playing the US Open here. There are also several holes because of the rock like fairways and greens that you cannot keep the ball in play, even if you hit a good shot. There are 2 par 3's that are really long, one 210 yds and another 190 yds that the average golfer cannot play because of the length and the unfairness due to the hard fairways and greens. These 2 holes also slow down play as people are having to play a second shot or spend lots of time looking for lost balls. It took us 5 hours to play a course that measures 6000 yards. I am glad that I did not pay full price for this course. If I had I would have been even more disappointed. I would not play this course again ever.
unfit manager
I have been play at this coerce since 10 years ago.
and am always enjoy playing because of affordable, good course lay out and most of all, excellent friendly staffs.
I know there were any issue with staffs before new manager came.
But since new manager has run this place, this place has become disaster due to his arrogant, rude and uncommunicable stubborner attitude.
Whatever different opinion occurs between customers and manager,.even if a small issue, these issue never be solved friendly and professional way..Because of his rude and hot temper, conversation never last more than 2 minutes.
When he loose temper as always, he threats customers to obey his order or else he will kick customers out..
In a word, he is not only unfits as a manager in customer service in mind world but also will destroy well established business.
I am missing good atmosphere and enjoy playing a golf as before and feel sorry for good staffs working with this new manager.
The worst golf experience
Normally I wouldn't take the time to fill out a review as I believe all golf courses should have a gold standard on staff friendliness, course maintenance, pace of play, etc. But I felt this was an exception based on my particular negative experience.
It all started when I stepped foot in the clubhouse asking the I assume manager some general questions. My impression was that he was a bit edgy. Since this was long weekend, there were a lot of people lined up and no Marshall to maintain order. We were told by another staff that someone else called the pro shop directly on the day of and booked the same time as my group whom booked through golfnow the day before. I asked how this was possible with the response being that the course reserves the right to move your tee time later by 15 minutes as priority goes to those that call the proshop. This seemed unfair as those that book online have to pay an online fee to secure the time only to be 2nd tier to those that call the shop directly. Moving on, we settled this double booking situation with the other golfers and let them go ahead. When the so called manager came out and heard my concern, I was greeted with anger and confrontation saying we could just have our money back and leave instead of hearing our concern and resolving it. After going back and forth, we've come to the conclusion that his staff gave us the wrong info and that the guys who booked in actually got the tee time 8 minutes before us. But the damage has been done and it was handled very poorly overall.
Unless you get a hot deal for this course, I wouldn't recommend it unless you want to deal with this poor treatment.
Happy golfing!
Fair ways?
In my opinion the course could be a great course, however, the conditions of greens, fairways and cart paths were far below sub-standard.
I will honestly admit the greens guys were cutting grass, and applying sand in the divots and tee zones.
But as a whole the course was not well maintained.
The club house was full of mould and stained ceiling tiles. Not where I would enjoy a nice lunch.
In conclusion you do get what you pay for :),
Challenging course
Nice facility. Course layout is beautiful. Family friendly
