Knollwood Golf Club - New
About
There are two courses at the Knollwood Golf Club, the New and the Old. The New Course, which is adjacent to the Old, was built almost 20 years after the original. It is the trickier layout of the two. Although the scenic landscape was already dotted with trees, thousands more were planted to create a more challenging golf course and to enhance the beautiful terrain. The layout features plenty of elevation changes throughout and there are elevated tees where golfers can take in pleasant views. The architect of the New Course, Jack Harris, employed his memories of the most interesting holes he had played around the world to recreate some of them on this course.

Good day at the course
The course was in good shape considering the extreme heat . We did get slowed down but managed a 4 1-2 hr round . Local so will defiantly be back
Great course in Ancaster
This was my first time playing here and I am pleasantly supprise the condition of the course. From T box to Fairway and Green.
Although the putting green can be cut shorter.
Overall - I would recommend this course and play again.
Where are all the bunkers?
I have played here on and off since I started golf. Actually this was my very first 18 holes course about 10 years ago. I still enjoy playing the course, has always been a relaxing fun outing.
The course plays very easy. However I noticed today that there were absolutely ZERO bunkers. I could of sworn there were a few before. Seems like whatever bunkers they did have before were filled up and covered with grass now.
There was a wedding ceremony today so it seems the staff was partitioned to only that. Checked in as usual. Gave my slip to the starter which just took it and did not say much, never even stayed around. Was never told when to start or anything. We just started right after the people on the box went. Cart girl still came around a few times so that was fine. I don't care much for too much interaction but some people new to the course likes interaction with a starter for tips and instructions. Today there was pretty much none.
Will this stop me from ever playing here again, nope. I play golf for golf. Greens were very slow today. The biggest thing that bothers me are super slow rounds.
Could have maintained a bit better.
The layout is great. I won't totally blame the staff for the brown and hard fairways as it has been extremely dry. However, the course should be watered to keep the fairways a bit greener. it was extremely hard surface and felt like hitting a concrete floor at places on the fairway second shots.
In situations like these the rates should be much lower. As there are a few courses in the area which are well maintained, watered, etc.
Nice course though and will try it out again after some rain.
Great layout and very lush
Challenging course. With the dry weather I was very surprised to see how lush and green fairways were.
The tee blocks were excellent and the green all received ball well. And all played the same.
Will return forsure
Nice farways
Great shape!
Green and faraways!!
However , behind a tournament.
Extremely slow.
great deal
We have played this course many times but only at a discounted price. The course is short but fair for woman, the greens are small except for a few and right now a little grainy. easy to walk and good refreshment service.
Good little course, will play again next year.
Challenging course, greens excellent for this time of year, wide fairways, no sand traps, some water comes into play.
Great November Round
The course was in good condition for mid-November. Great value!
There wasn't any food and beverage service, but that was to expected for this time of year.
A fun round of golf that won't beat you up.
Not a single bunker to be found and water comes into play on only a few holes but trees and blind tee shots can make your score balloon when you least expect it.
The food was good, the staff friendly and course in good shape. The price is good value but a couple of holes like 3, 8, 10 and 18 could improve with a little hint as to how to play them to help the first time player.
Overall, a fun inexpensive round and will definitely return.
Should be on your list to play
Great course, good challenges and no delays due to
the time of year. Course condition was great for November. Overall a great day. Only one draw back, kitchen was closed but understandable since golf season is pretty well over.
Nice Course
Very nice course lots of trees with acorns and walnuts course can be difficult on some holes due to mature trees. Take lots of golf balls if average player. Course is well manicured first cut was just right not too deep fairways were cut just right and greens were in good shape some under repair which can be expected for this time of year (Early Fall). Would recommend.
will play again
very good overall will play this course again, not in the rain lol
A few rough spots
Good course .. not a great pace.. There is a little damage here and there...All in all Average Shape...used to be my go to course ...not so much anymore
good conditions, fairway.
it was raining day. after raining, the course conditions was still good. Beautiful courses, some challengable holes and long par 5 hole...
Not bad
Didn't know what to expect, course was in average condition a few spotty greens and fairways. Pace of play was delayed by the 3 ball 2 some in front of us. Good day out overall, snagged a hot deal on golfnow otherwise not worth full price.
Shorter course, poor conditions
I played this course earlier in the season, then again this past weekend. The first time there, I don't remember being disappointed with the course conditions at all. However, this time around I was extremely disappointed.
The course is in horrific shape. The tee boxes are chewed up, and uneven in many cases where the tee blocks were placed. The fairways are rock hard, and feature multiple dead spots. However, worst of all are the greens. They are the slowest I've ever played on. The lack of speed isn't due to moisture, but is because the greens are covered in sand! They feel like you're walking on a giant sponge, with the greens appearing to be ~ 2 millimeters of grass/dirt on top of sand.
Aside from that, the course is ok. Still plenty of fun, but go in with low expectations. I would go back in the future, but only if the price was significantly lowered - would have to be ~$20 with cart to entice me.
