Knollwood Golf Club - New
About
There are two courses at the Knollwood Golf Club, the New and the Old. The New Course, which is adjacent to the Old, was built almost 20 years after the original. It is the trickier layout of the two. Although the scenic landscape was already dotted with trees, thousands more were planted to create a more challenging golf course and to enhance the beautiful terrain. The layout features plenty of elevation changes throughout and there are elevated tees where golfers can take in pleasant views. The architect of the New Course, Jack Harris, employed his memories of the most interesting holes he had played around the world to recreate some of them on this course.

Nice course
Course is always in excellent condition no matter what time of year. Staff is great and pace of play is great.
Barebones Course
Had not played the New (1989?) Knollwood in many years and after my recent round I doubt if I will play it again.
To be fair the course has some excellent holes ( the par 3 #s 9 and 15 over water, the par 5 #2 and the almost ridiculously difficult par 4 #2) but there are no bunkers, the fairways and greens are rock solid and some of the greens had a considerable number of bare spots. Some holes are downright dangerous with blind shots over ridges which make it impossible to see players ahead. Add in the shortage of ball washers, the lack of hole maps beside the tees, the lack of signage from greens to tees and a completely unhelpful scorecard without a course layout the first time Knollwood golfer is navigating purely by instinct.
The day my partner and I played, the course was backed up from the 8th tee to the finish and we never spied a marshal on the course.
Serious golfers would be wise to avoid the New Knollwood while those less serious will not get any bang for their bucks by playing there.
Great Course
Whether you are s beginner or otherwise this is a great course. Long holes, beautiful greens with tricky topography and wide open fairways. Staff was great as well. Had a blast!
Challenging course for a great price!
We played there with a Hot Deal which stared the day off great! The course in the previous summers had 2 greens that were bad because no rain, wind or sun could hit them, but now they are okay. Those are holes #4 and #6. The greens were a bit furry and probably only running 8 on the meter which is pretty darn low. The 8th hole you can order something from the clubhouse, but a $14 cheeseburger is a rip-off. They should really consider making it fair because this is just robbery. If you play here, remember there are a few holes that are very very tough, almost completely protected/covered greens. I will play there again if I can get a good deal.
Great course in solid condition
Course was in good condition. Pace of play for a Sunday morning was fantastic (we passed one group and had no one ahead of us). Friendly staff.
Nice course
Been going there for years and it's still a good course. Food/drinks have gone up over the years quit a bit.
one of happydays of golfing
it has been a happyday , specaly vary friendly staff
any way thank you , excellent ^-^
hop see you soon
Condition
The course was in great shape for a public course! Greens were well maintained, we got it for 16.99.. Can't go wrong
Still early in the season
We got a good deal on Golf Now Hot Deals which made it a no brainer to get in 18 holes of golf in the good weat her, the coarse is close also. The greens are very very slow right now and the fairways are dry and hard but you get lots of extra roll on all your shots. The coarse will probably be in better shape if we get some rain to soften and green everything up. I like the new coarse better than the old one and you get more coarse for your money as it is a lot longer and pretty wide open. Overall it's not a bad coarse to play if you get a good deal.
Awesome golf course

Knollwood
Really enjoyable, took daughter who is just on her second round, she liked it alot
Great layout!
Worth the drive from Mississauga and would play it again if offered the same deal by Golfnow.
Course in fabulous condition.
The weather certainly helped to make this a great day for golf. Knollwood New was in fantastic shape. It is challenging but very enjoyable course to play. Loved our day there.
Enjoyable Course
Great shape from tee blocks to greens, well maintained. Pin placements were tough, but the course is very enjoyable to play. Service and food/drinks also very good.
Challenging but not overwhelming
Good course for average players.
As a senior this is an ideal course with all the features of sand, water, trees and long and short holes.
Looking forward to the next game when I return from a European vacation.
And yes......I will be checking out some courses in England.
Value for money
Good course for a beginner. Excellent layout and a couple of challenging holes. Scenic view on 18th hole
Stay out of the rough
Very nice course. There are a few narrow fairways, so hitting straight is a bonus. It has a nice layout with a number of doglegs. Forget a ball in the rough. It's too dense in places. They could have direction markers directing you to the next hole and also where 1 & ten tee offs are. Had a great day.
Not for the amateur golfer
Course is designed for target golf on many holes, with most greens sloped away from the hole.
We were charged full rate instead of Golf Now discounted rate, Management is looking into this.
NEW
Second Time
Definitely tricker than what I remembered. Very Tight on a few shots. Makes you think on club selection.
