Knollwood Golf Club - Old
About
Knollwood Golf Club is home to two 18-hole courses, the Old and the New. The golf courses were built nearly 20 years apart. Opened in 1970, the Old Course is spread across beautiful parkland that is covered in trees. The layout is more traditional and less challenging than the other course at Knollwood Golf Club, but it is still an entertaining round. The main priority in creating the golf course was to not only maintain the natural features of the terrain, but also enhance it. Thousands of trees were planted in addition to those already present throughout the golf course. The result is a unique course that players of all skill levels will enjoy.

needs help
I like the layout and being a shorter course it's great for my wife.the green conditions are horrible and I don't think the holes have been moved in a month, some were actually almost an inch smaller because of over growth. it would be a good deal for $10 including cart.
Nice course...
This course has good features..but not long way..
Greensville Open
First time playing as part of a tournament. Nice little course in Ancaster at a good price. A little short, so would suggest the New instead, but the Old is very scenic. Should be able to finish in under 4 hours. Staff were very pleasant and friendly, although we didn't see the cart girl very often. Course had a bunch of kids playing soccer golf. Don't mind the kids having a good time, but recommend they need more supervision as they were very distracting. We had to tell them to be quiet because they were right on top of our tee box yelling and screaming. Also concerned with them running allover the course and could easily get hurt.
Great Value
Amazing staff, lovely course, not too hard and excellent value for the money.
not too much trouble to get into. course was a bit dry but they all are this year.
side note - Beef dip sandwich was delish
Not worth the drive
Only good thing are the greens. In the front 9 there is also a foot golf course??? Very short
Lovely Course!
We loved the mature trees and cart paths that went through the sections of forest. On a very hot and sunny day the beautiful trees kept us very comfortable. The course was nice to play and we'd recommend it to anyone.
Great for light hitters and those who don't like sandtraps
This is a very short course. Driver is used on only a couple holes. Lots of trees resulting in somewhat narrow fairways at times. Water comes into play only a couple times and there are no sand traps. Some very difficult greens. There are some elevation changes and a good number of dog-legs which provide some challenge. I think it would be an excellent course to take your youngster, and others who don't hit long. One last point, due to the lack of water, the greens and fairways are quite hard at this time due to the lack of rain this year.
A good walk in the park with a good back nine layout
Overall a course requiring accuracy from the tee shots.
Greens tricky with suttle breaks towards the hole.
Staff were welcoming / friendly.
Knollwood
We were directed by the starter to go to start on hole 10 as hole 1 was busy. The pace was slow which was to be expected for a nice weather day on the long weekend. Was not aware that there is a foot golf (with soccer balls) group that goes off every Sunday after 2 pm. so we did not get to play the front nine but the staff was very apologetic and accommodating in giving us a rain check to play anytime in the near future.
Great course
Course was in good condition, no delays and staff was helpful. Price was reasonable, I would recommend using golf now when booking tee times due to ease in booking. We have played Knollwood several times now and have had a good experience each time out.
Great Course and Customer Service
The staff at Knollwood were extremely friendly and we really enjoyed our Sunday morning. There was no one in front of us on the course so it made the pace of play fantastic. Overall, the yardage of the course was short but the holes were well laid out but difficult because they were narrow and had water placed in the right spots. The course was beautiful with mature trees and ponds. Overall, I loved playing Knollwood and will be back.
OK But Very Slow Play
No marshalls to be found with very slow players ahead. The course is relatively short but it took us 5 hours to play 18 holes. Thank goodness that it was a nice day.
Value--value--value
I played this course 10 years ago and it has not changed. The course is short but you can get into trouble if you are not straight off the tee. The cost to play through Golf Now was great and I will be golfing there again today
Fun Little Course
For the most part the greens and fairways were in decent shape, the course plays very short, and is very score-able. If you like hitting the driver this isn't the course for you.. only a few par 5's warrant the driver, the remaining holes most will be able to hit a mid iron find fairway and then wedge into the green. Pace of play was an issue playing with a string of elderly twosomes ahead that could have been paired up by marshal.
Always fun
Only thing that could've made the round better would be warmer water and dryer conditions. Not the fault of the course. I enjoy both this and the new course
A very enjoyable course
The course will not disappoint. The fairways were in great condition. A couple of greens were sandy, but were still flat as not to affect a putt.
fun course to play
challenging but friendly course forces you to focus on next shot
Nice course
Nice course. Shorter course but nice hole layouts and doglegs. Enjoyable tee to green. Greens were just aerated, so fair amount of sand on greens and the course did not say it was aerated when booking.
Still a good day out. Course was a little busy so they let us tee off from the 10th. Wish more courses could manage like this. I would book again but prefer the new course.
Great low difficulty course
Great little course. A little easier than most but even the short par 4s give you some challenges and require accurate tee shots. I put a few balls in the woods but also drove 2 greens on one 1 and 18. Can be rewarding and dangerous to attack the shot 4s. Just go for it.
SHORT BUT GOOD
COURSE WAS A BIT SHORT BUT WE LIKED IT AND WE PLAYED AT A GREAT TIME PACE, DID NOT SAMPLE ANY FOOD BUT DID ENJOY COURSE
