Knollwood Golf Club - Old
About
Knollwood Golf Club is home to two 18-hole courses, the Old and the New. The golf courses were built nearly 20 years apart. Opened in 1970, the Old Course is spread across beautiful parkland that is covered in trees. The layout is more traditional and less challenging than the other course at Knollwood Golf Club, but it is still an entertaining round. The main priority in creating the golf course was to not only maintain the natural features of the terrain, but also enhance it. Thousands of trees were planted in addition to those already present throughout the golf course. The result is a unique course that players of all skill levels will enjoy.

A Fine Outing
Old Knollwood is not an especially challenging course but it is very picturesque and well maintained. It is also good value for money. Most courses within the 'orbit' of Toronto including Oakville are quite pricey and often do not match the ambience of Old Knollwood. And, as a bonus, Knollwood has excellent food services. Be sure to take some time following a round to sample their menu. You won't be disappointed.
Fantastic
I don't think I have ever enjoyed a course as much as I did the Old.
Course was gorgeous, greens were slow but consistent which is something you don't say much with courses in this area. Considering getting a membership well worth the money!
course is in top shape
the course is in excellent condition staff are very friendly.
Nice greens
Staff was fantastic!
For a shorter course, challenging!
Greens were in great shape.
The course is very nice
The course was very nice. Got a good deal on golfnow so was very worthwhile. I will defiantly try to play there again.
fuzzy greens
Short course even from the blues. I understand it was a bad winter but by now the greens should be cut and rolled...way too slow and bumpy for June 4
Knollwood Old Course
was not overly busy was able to golf a good pace the carts were new and had a great time and at a great price through Golf Now.
will book again for sure!
Great day out!
The staff was extremely friendly and helpful, was worth the money!
Very accommodating and a great deal !
When we arrived at Knollwood the course was very wet and we were not able to take the golf carts out... They were very kind and sent us over to the new course... A nice start to our season of golf!
A good day of golf
Course was in relatively good shape even though there had been several days of heavy rain. On some holes water pooled on the fairways and slowed down the ball. Several times I had to fish my ball out of ankle deep water that had puddled on the course. Still had a great day!
Sunday round of golf should be relaxing for my wife & I, but when I got to 1st hole my nightmare already started.
Majority of the tee box there were no grass at all, especially from the tip (blue tees). I was very disappointed for the amount of green fees I paid from Hot Deals, I thought this was a good deal and I can't believe it for a golf course over 40 years old should have been already matured and fairways should be in good condition, but not!
Nice shorter course
Haven't played there in 30 years, has matured quite a lot. Carts are a must have as distances between tee boxes are quite far. Some quite challenging short par 4's and 5's. All in all quite the nice course if you are not the 3 times a week player. Will definitely return again.
Beautiful course but fast greens.
If you have a good short game you will enjoy the challenging greens. No putt was easy here for our group since we were all long ball hitters. The course seems to be built within a forest and makes a real challenge to stay out of the rough. The only downfall of the course is the really fast greens and fairways, this made approach shots tricky and very easy to roll off the back of greens if you didn't shoot the greens short and allow for the roll up.
Course was in good shape, but a bit on the wet side - rain's fault, not the club's.
Had dinner and a drink afterwards. Food was excellent - chef is amazing.
Reasonable par 4's, well groomed fast greens, doglegs, water, elevated greens, tree lined fairways, great staff.
Very cordial welcome. Par 4's are not overly long, but very scenic. Greens are a challenge with the various breaks. There is enough water to cause concerns. Doglegs and elevated greens add a considerable challenge. The game moves fast, and the golfers always seemed ready to 'go'. No one waited around. Greens were accessible with a 7 iron to 9 iron after a decent drive. Can hardly wait for 2 more weeks when all the trees and leaves are in colour. Very peaceful and serene.
love this hidden gem in Ancaster Ontario, great for all levels of golfers,
this place is beautiful, mature trees line every hole, great for all levels of golfers, went with a friend who is just beginning to play and we had a great round , really enjoyed Laura the starter who actually checked on us at one point of the round, old knollwood Ancaster will definitely return.......
Very nice golf course good condition lots of fun to play
Very nice course. Wife just started playing golf this year and played her best round to date. Both of us thought it was a good course for everyone to play. I will be playing there again soon.
short course
short but a lot of fun to play.... tee blocks were rough,... fairways were bad ... greens were ok...
Ok, but not worth it for the money
This course was ok but you can find similar courses for less money in the area, like Southern Pines. There is not a singe bunker in the course for example making it feel just fair.
Also, something that really put me off was the lawnmowers running all over the course with complete disregard for players. I had to wait for them to get off the green in 3 holes to be able to take my shot. Not to mention that all I heard was noise from them instead of the birds!
Like I said, the course is ok but not great.
