Ariss Valley Golf and Country Club - Willows Course
About
Located on the outskirts of the southwestern city of Guelph, Ariss Valley Golf & Country Club offers 27 holes of scenic golf that sprawl across a rolling landscape of trees and ponds. The Willows golf course is one of the three nine-hole courses at the club. The Willows features an abundance of trees that demand accuracy and keen course management. Water hazards come into play on a few holes and there are also strategically placed, Ohio white sand bunkers throughout the course. Ariss Valley Golf & Country Club's Willow course offers a fair challenge, but it is also approachable for beginning and intermediate players. The other two golf courses provide plenty of other golfing options as well.

Needs Maintenance
This course is very pleasing to the eye, however the tees boxes are covered in broken tees, literally hundreds of them. The tees also need allot of work. The Pines 8th is like a sand trap and 1 and 2 are like playing off grass in back yard. The greens on the Willows are burnt brown and need serious repair. I wont go back here to pay $61 for a poorly maintained course.
Dry
It’s been dry and it is really showing on this course. Some greens are in really rough shap, others are good. We need rain, or they need more irrigation.
Staff were very friendly and the golfer’s platter was really good.
Breath taking at every turn
From reception to a final birdie on Willow, this was so much fun to play and enjoy. Unfortunately a 3 hour back 9 behind members soured my overall experience. Some greens needed attention, but overall I think this course needs to be experienced by anybody who can.
Nice Day at Ariss
The pace of play was a little slow , for some reason Marshall asked us to play faster even though we were two groups deep on each tee box. Course is in good shape; greens are really a challenge lots of undulations. It’s not a long course but it is challenging!!
Not going back
There are too many courses near Guelph better than Ariss for me to go back there again.
Paid for cart $60 in total. Was told they wanted to divide the cart and double up players. Said there would be no reduction in cart rental, riding double would still cost each person $60 !! Most greens on Willows course were terrible. Large sections of totally dead turf. From start to finish got switched 3 times for our second 9, disorganized. Not going back.
great round
Group teed off at 12:45, so heat of the day, a single ahead who we never saw after the first hole,
Great to play at our own pace with nobody ahead or behind us. Some tee blocks were a little rough but fairways and greens were excellent. This was our 3rd time playing here this year , always enjoy it.
Slipped a bit but still fun
Have written a review before. Still one of my favourite “country” courses. Good COVID precautions, but noticed the greens conditioning has slipped compared to previous years. Could have been the hot dry summer, but more bald patches and ball marks. Poorer conditions around the cups. Bunkers were excellent however. Tee boxes and fairways were average at best. Still fun to play and recommended.
