Gleneagle Golf Course
About
Gleneagle Golf Course in Arlington is just an hour north of Seattle. The 5,949-yard, par-70 layout may seem relatively short, but it's a course that will test your shot making skills and accuracy with strategically placed bunkers and undulating greens. The layout makes up for any lack of length in many other ways, including the treacherous rough that lines the rolling fairways. Water hazards come into play as well, but there are more on the front nine than the back. There are some challenging holes but overall, players of all skill levels will enjoy the golf course, especially with its backdrop of cedar and fir trees spread across rolling hills. With a driving range also available, Gleneagle offers one of the area's best values for the money.

this course did have great features
Was the best greens i have found in Washington State so far, and it was ez getting around from the fairways, no wash board fairways
as in a few courses I've play in area. I'm going to play it again.
Very nice greens. Narrow fairways bordered by houses.
Leave your driver at home. This is not a long course and the fairways on many holes are very narrow. The 18th green can be cruel to some players as there are deep bunkers on either side of about a 30 foot wide green. I saw 3 golfers give up and throw their balls out of the bunker after going back and forth multiple times. Not a great way to finish a round.
crazy track
This course is crazy. You're playing holes in the middle of a neighborhood. Never seen anything like it! Most holes are tight driving holes. Fairways are very dry so the ball roles a mile. Greens are in good shape, and most are guarded by ponds. Quite a challenging course. If you don't hit the ball fairly straight, don't bother playing it. Holes may be on the shorter side, but with tight fairways, dry grass conditions and ponds, it's very challenging.
Not bad... Not great.
For you golfers who are very accurate, its pretty nice. Houses are stacked alongside the fairways so if you tend to be a bit arrant., maybe try another place. Greens rolled well but had dry spots in places. Overall it was good value for the money.
Fun track to play!
Really enjoyed this course. A lot of fun to play. Trees & shrubs on nearly every fairway, but fairways were pretty wide. Tough to walk, as many tees were quite a distance from greens. Highly recommend for a fun time.
nice course, nice variety
Don't need a big drive, need to put the drive in the fairway. Lloyd of short irons into greens. Accuracy is everything, on every shot.
This course has interesting holes.
The Tee boxes require attention, too much sand and not enough grass. Greens in great condition. Fairways in excellent condition. Ruff a little long. Still wet in some areas.
Outstanding greens. Layout not for the timid.
I played this course two years ago, and there is little resemblance in conditions. As I mentioned above, the greens were some of the best that I've seen at any cost. They were not super fast, but fast enough & very true. And most are tiered & " gently sloped" to add a measure of challenge. The swearing under my breath was all on me, & none on the greens. The layout, while not super long is a true test of shot making, while most par 4's let you rip it, there's water & sand on 80% of the holes, so approach shots need to be dialed in. A lot of houses line the course & may come into play on errant shots. My neighbor & I ,while not playing our best, were left very impressed with improvements made, & realized it's a course that needs to be played 4-5 times before getting comfortable with the layout. We'll be back to try and knock a few strokes off our last effort. Kudos to the staff............
Leave the driver at home.
Narrow fairways bordered by houses. Used a 4 iron or 3W for most tee shots. Shot placement is key. Greens were quick despite a drizzly day.
Can't beat the price.
Got a hot deal, $18 with cart! Three of us played under 4 hours, greens were in good shape, had a small range, no drivers but you can get warmed up. Pretty short even from the tips, but the par threes are tough, target golf. Quite a few houses, so poor shots can be interesting. Great value if you get a good price, will do it again.
Greens were in great condition!
The course was a little wet after a day of heavy rain, but overall it was in good conditions and the greens were great!
Short but very challenge
Gleneagle is a beautiful mountain course in great condition. Don't foul by its length. The restaurant is great. Cheese burger is the best. The only minus is that they gave us a plastic cups for draft beer.
Straight shot is very important on this course.
Challenge course, bunkers, creek, trees, houses, glass windows, tight fairway, roughs, hills...... afraid to use my driver. I used my 5 wood on many tee shots instead (range from 180 to 225 yards). Hit some great tee shots though. 5 wood again on fairway. It is my most confident club, dead straight. Green is very good. If you are tire of bump and run course, try this. Test yourself, how good is your swing?
My handicap is 24 and I enjoy this course.
Fix it
Greens in good shape with true roll. The speed was fast but fair.
I just wish more people would fix their ball marks. I repaired 2-5 on every green.
C'mon people!
Got what we paid for
Booked a hot time @ $25 with cart. The course played to that value. I would have been disappointed if I had paid full price.
The greens were great! Unfortunately, that was over shadowed by terrible tees, unkempt rough, and dead grass clumps everywhere.
If they spent half the time and effort on the rest of the course as they did the greens this place would be great! For now it's only worth playing if you can book it at a discounted rate.
Greens and fairways in excellant condition, rough was thin for how long it was. A defining course for Washingtion golf.
I have not been out to Glenneagle since 2011 because last time I went the greens were too slow and the fairways were all torn up. The course in 2013 is in beautiful shape though. I chose to play the white tees so the course was short but posed some challenge off the tee as well as around the greens. There are no rinky dink throw away holes as you often see in shorter courses (7 iron off the tee to not run through a dogleg/ strange unnecessary hills etc). I had a putt for triple bogey and I also had a putt for eagle (as photographed). I took my son out there so we grabbed a golf cart which are brand spanking new battery powered carts. I am definitely going to be spending some time there this summer.
A lot of BANG for your buck, greens in good shape but slow.
Our group played on a sunny day, the overall conditions were good except for the greens were very slow, but in good condition. Staff was great ! For the $25 bucks per man or so we paid I consider this an excellent value. The course requires a lot of different shots or you can get in trouble, but is open enough that a decent shot was all you needed to navigate it. 8.5 out of 10 for the value.
Short but tight course makes it a good test. Green are in great shape.
Great value.Short but tight course makes it a good test. The Par 3's are long and challenging from the back teesl.
Rainy but great
Great round played in the rain off and on. Course wa in good shape and offers challenges. Can't beat the price. 14 dollars with a cart.
Just a fun day
Course was in very good condition. Paired up with a couple who plays the course on a regular basis who provided insight on how to play the course. With a correctly hit ball the course was more than fair to you.
Great point on the ball marks. The course should put more emphasis on repariing ball marks. It probably would help some. It is a pretty rampant problem on most public courses. All beginning golfers should be taught to repair ball marks. Unfortunately there are some folks who seem to be too lazy to do it.
