Gleneagle Golf Course
About
Gleneagle Golf Course in Arlington is just an hour north of Seattle. The 5,949-yard, par-70 layout may seem relatively short, but it's a course that will test your shot making skills and accuracy with strategically placed bunkers and undulating greens. The layout makes up for any lack of length in many other ways, including the treacherous rough that lines the rolling fairways. Water hazards come into play as well, but there are more on the front nine than the back. There are some challenging holes but overall, players of all skill levels will enjoy the golf course, especially with its backdrop of cedar and fir trees spread across rolling hills. With a driving range also available, Gleneagle offers one of the area's best values for the money.

Good Times
Nice and challenging course. Excellent greens. Course is tight and lined with houses. If you can't keep the ball in the fairway, it could be an adventure!
Greens are perfect
Course is dry in and burned in a lot of spots but overall except restaurant staff is super slow and very abrasive older man whom was dressed like a cook was very unprofessional as far as using profanity laced sentences with elderly woman hearing every word
Slow but good
Beautiful day, good company and a challenging golf course. Pace of play was slow but that was due to the GREAT rate. Greens were in excellent condition .
Truly fun for all levels
I made the drive to Arlington from Renton in about 1hr, 10 minutes to meet my grandfather (who is a 15 handicap) and my cousin (who is just learning to play) and took advantage of the "Beastmode is Back" special ($24 w/cart and range balls). I found the course short but tight. Hitting a straight ball is key. The greens rolled very true. There were a few tough lies in the fairway from lack of water/rain, but overall the conditions were good. I tried to drive some greens that I should not have and that resulted in a few lost balls along the way. The players assistants were friendly and knowledgable. They told me to take an extra club on a par three and I knocked it inside 10 feet :). We let a single play through on hole 7, and that was the only other golfer we saw. It is a tough course for a beginner beacuse there a a few holes that have some forced carry over marsh and wasteland, but my cousin was patient and still had a good time. A perfect course for the casual player and above. I will make the trip up again soon.
Cut the greens down shorter, they are way too slow
The course has improved immensely over the last two years and I applaud the turnaround, to make this a much finer golf course to play the two things that need to be badly upgraded. This would not cost a tremendous amount of money would be to cut the greens shorter, and get the rocks out of the sand traps, and add some more sand.
Great course and great people, we were happy.
Great challenge course with narrow fairway. my group are happy, specially one of players hit his best score 89 from black tee.
The greens were pristine
The pace of play was decent and the greens were fast and unforgiving (just as they should be). The only complaint that I have is that the bunkers were more like pavement than sand traps. Overall it's a great place to play and the staff is excellent
Love the greens!
The course was slow yesterday but that didn't bother me. Beautiful greens and the course is maintained alright. This golf course is a real test of your ability to hit the ball in play. If you do expect rewards but if you aren't good with accuracy, play somewhere else. Plenty of homes at the side of multiple fairways. The simple truth is, if you can play and score at Gleneagle, you can play anywhere! My best round was a 70 [even par] and my highest round was 87 [17 over par] proving I'm only a amateur that loves playing Gleneagle!
Improving conditions...show they care!
The course has had problems over the years but they have obviously been working hard on the course conditions.
Homes are still too close for me to play here very often, but I'm adding it back into the rotation a few times a year because of how hard they are working!
Clearly not for everyone
this is a course that looks like it's gonna be great but in reality its not that well maintained but I happen to have very nice greens with that being said its an average golf course thats not quite worth the 40$ they want.. and the part of the day was asking the marshal what the course record was and being told it doesn't matter ill never shoot it so ill pick blackberries... also the fact there is no benches when it takes 5hrs 45mins to play this course is a bit much...
Better Management!
First i believe that the pro shop should have a better deal when the weather is poor. They ask a premium price for a course that is 50% empty. If anything I would create more games, such as scramble 4somes, or group tournaments to make it more profitable for the golf course. Other then that they should treat people like gold, or like Nordstrom. God knows they need more customers. I paid with a lunch break $36 walking, and and a meal that cost about $50 plus for my group. Other then that needs a better management team to produce better sources of income for course.
Fun times at a great price
Gleneagle is a ball eater. plenty of hazards and houses. I only feel comfortable using my driver a ew holes but to put it in perspective I havent ever broke 100. The only criticism I have is that the clubhouse restroom was in shameful condition. everything else was outstanding. I used golf now for a wonderful price. Again, bring extra balls. You will need them.
Nice enough but short
Even from the tips this course is short. Unfortunately they try to make up for it by lengthening the par 3s, all playing between 185-220. Tee boxes and bunkers need work, greens were playable.
the best greens !
I love this course play it all the time ! play this with friends and they love it as well
Friendly Staff-Challenging course
Gleneagle golf course has become one of my favorite courses. As a 15 handicap the course is a challenge due to closeness of the houses. The staff is always friendly and helpful.
A long way to go...
I was once a member of this course about 15 years ago, (when they had memberships). It used to be a nice place and was initially well managed. I now play it once per year hoping to see some improvements over these last several years of shear failure. Unfortunately, they have a long way to go. The pace of play was SO SLOW! We quit on hole 16 after five hours, as did the group in front of us. Really? The only part of the course that is in good shape are the greens - big improvement. The tee boxes and fairways remain terrible. This is a mediocre "hokey" course to begin with so conditions have to be right to even come close to a real course. It simply isn't worth the time.
What a course!
This course played beautifully with no flaws that I saw. There were numerous holes that were just breathtaking from tee boxes.
Only downside is if you decide to walk, be ready to go long distances in between holes.
all you can golf offer
This is the best deal to get on golfnow.com, with all these great prices, I can enjoy some good food also.
Excelent greens
As always, the greens here are in great condition. The rest of the course was looking somewhat poor. This does clean up later in the season, however, I played 3 courses in the area this week and the other two were in much better condition. Stick with the hot deals on golf now for the $20 range and you should get what you pay for.
Too many houses
If you are an inexperienced mediocre golfer like I am then this course is not for you. Houses line the entire course and unless you are ready to join the pro tour you are going to hit one. I average at least three per visit. You would think that people who live on a golf course would expect that their house is going to get hit and golfers would want to retrieve their balls. However there are signs everywhere warning against trespassing and about how you will be liable for damages. Hey.....you bought a house on a golf course. Overall the course itself is fine. I lost about a dozen balls mostly because of my skill level. The price was good because of the promotions on golf now.
