About
The Valley Course is a heavily forested golf course is the original layout at the club. The course is unique in that it has relatively short yardages rated with such high slopes mainly due to the tight fairways and numerous elevation changes. The driver will most likely stay in your bag while the long irons will be used often. The golf course is very tight, offering an ideal place to get some practice with irons. It is also provides an ideal warm-up round for the more difficult course at the Horseshoe Resort, the Highlands Course.

beautiful course for a good price
I was surprised to see the beautiful course for a good price today, I enjoyed very much, worth to try and play .
Good course, shadow of what it was
The former courses have been whittled from 36 down to only 9. The original back nine of the valley course. Still decent but not the place it use to be
THE COURSE is very scienic
Great course cut through the woods and hills of Horseshoe valley and is very scenic but it is only 9 holes.
Don`t understand why they did`nt keep it as a 18 hole course

Good course for couple and young golfers, Moderately challenging but not too long. Not a course for seasoned or scratch golfers unless they want to work on short game.
Interesting Layout
Mountain type course, cut out of the trees, Good variety of holes, all challenging to par. Greens quite large and well maintained. Playable in under two hours.
Greens were in great shape.
Course was in overall good condition with a few rough spots & bare spots but overall pretty good. I think i didnt really like was the very unlevel & sloping tee decks. They need to be leveled & fix turf better on a lot of them. Other then that it was a good game & nice staff
great course layout
Course was in great shape however they did not have score cards available. This makes it challenging for a someone playing the course for the 1st time
Great but...
We thought we were getting 18 holes as that is what the course usually plays. They have closed the front nine, so you are only playing 9 holes. With taxes and fees, this is not really good deal. I should have read the fine print a little more closely.
OK course but nothing great. Shame on Horseshoe Resort for closing the Highlands course which was a great course. This is definitely the poor cousin

In rough shape
Seems like they’ve left this place to rot.... looks like it hasn’t been cared for at all. Cool layout, but the entire course is hardpan, barely playable.
Love the course
Love t his course. Good value for the money but fairways were in rough shape. It rained yest and overnight and was drizzly when we started out at noon today. Several of the fairways were in really rough shape. Messed up by the carts on holes with no cart paths. Overall I love this course. It has many challenges; especially with so many greens surrounded by tough bunkers.
Course in very poor condition, bare spots,weeds, unkept greens, and tee boxes. Staff very friendly.

Tired Old Resort Course
On a Monday when our home course was closed for aeration we visited Horseshoe Resort. It was obvious that the resort is spending very little money on maintaining the golf course. Greens were slow and in terrible shape. Often fairways were spotty or non-existent. Not sure when is the last time they spent any money on fertilization or weed killing. Very disappointing to see how they have let this course deteriorate. Greens were rock hard and it was completely lucky to stay on the putting surface. Won't be back even at this reduced price.

Sub par!
I have always wanted to good at Horseshoe resort and was very disappointed greens were patchy not maintained. in the tee boxes grass was long and very very hard couldn’t put my tee in some spots. Fairways were all patchy and partially dead! And sometimes I would hit it to maybe 10 feet off the green and I should be in fringe and I was in dirt! Oh and hole one you had to hit it over some concrete thing where there were also like hydro wires just super weird
So wouldn’t recommend this course to anyone unless it’s like max $20 with a cart because then you know what your getting
But could easily be better with just some maintenance
