Horseshoe Resort - Valley
About
The Valley Course is a heavily forested golf course is the original layout at the club. The course is unique in that it has relatively short yardages rated with such high slopes mainly due to the tight fairways and numerous elevation changes. The driver will most likely stay in your bag while the long irons will be used often. The golf course is very tight, offering an ideal place to get some practice with irons. It is also provides an ideal warm-up round for the more difficult course at the Horseshoe Resort, the Highlands Course.

Course is in horrible shape. Vast areas of fairways are dead its like playing on a mud cracked dry lakebed at times. The worst part in the morons from the city who have weekend places adjoining the course seem to think that they own the place a roam about wherever and whenever they please. One idiot walked his dog up the side of 5th teebox as I was teeing off and another time kids running around on the fairway playing fetch with their dog in front of us to name a few. We quit after 9 holes as we were tired of the attitude when we asked them to remove themselves from the hole when we where playing. Won't go back. No one seems to care about the place.
Poor condition
The course is in extremely poor condition, fairways and greens are heavily damaged.
The cost is far to much for the condition of course

Avoid!
I booked a Golfnow twilight round at the Valley Course with hopes that it would live up to the "unique 18 holes" that Skyline Resorts boasts for it to be; however, this course has deteriorated from good quality since I last played (spring 2018) to virtually unplayable for all types of golfers! In the three holes I played before realizing that it was nowhere near worth the price tag of $50, I experienced unkept tee boxes (all 3 holes), a entire fairway that should be marked as ground under repair (#2), and putting greens that were full of dead grass patches and dirt (all 3 greens). With that being said, the Director of Golf should highly consider closing the course for the remainder of the season and focus on getting it up to standards for the 2020 season. As for the 2019 season, do not waste your time or money here! The lack of maintenance shows and better value/quality of golfing experience exists elsewhere within the local area!

Different than its past
After finding the pro shop ( no signage) I was met by a very pleasant staff member. It was an easy check in and off to get a cart. Cart girl very nice who directed us to hole #1. What a joke. A par 3 hole that had chairlift wire obstruction in the air and magic carpet lift obstacles on the ground. The greens were in very poor condition throughout the front nine, with many fairways being less than desirable - ruts, very hard and lacking grass. The back nine is in much better condition but nothing like I remembered from years gone by. To pay full price would be outrageous and even the golfnow rate should be less for the condition of the course. Golfers you have been for warned.

Horseshoe Valley
Course is very scenic but looks neglected and under maintained.
Majority of tees, fairways and greens are in poor condition.
Only one other golfer was seen for the whole round.
We got lost between the 9th and 10th tees because of lack of direction/signage. Staff were not overly helpful in directing us.
Greens is rough shape
Most of the greens are in really bad shape. Lots of spots where grass isn’t growing. The sandpit was rock hard.
The course is surrounded by forest so if you veer off the fairway you probably aren’t finding your ball.
Rough
Course is in horrible shape very little grass on fairways greens in bad shape bunkers are no good as well played here years ago when it was good the resort prob makes a lot of money on there other things like the tree top trekking and don’t care about the golf not worth the $48 I payed won’t be back ever
Terrible shape
I have played this Course about 2 years ago & it was in great shape, now it is in terrible condition. It is not worth playing!
Has potential
Has potential to be a great course with some tender loving care
pretty mature tree layout
This is not a walker's course. There are long walks between many holes and particularly between the nines. The course is beautiful with trees everywhere (not on fairways). Unfortunately most of the greens are in poor shape.
Course not ready
I have played this course several times before and it was very good. I assume that since it has been a very wet Spring that this is the reason that it is in such POOR condition! I was very disappointed as was the rest of the foursome. I would have asked for a refund but I had paid directly to Golfnow.
Hopefully the course will improve with better weather. It was not worth the $50+ that we paid!
Terrible conditions
Looks like winter took its toll on this course. Lots of brown areas even on the greens
Golf course in horrible condition!
I played the Valley course at the Horseshoe Resort for the first and last time. Layout of the course was not very good. On some holes the scorecard did not match the yardage shown at the hole. Pace of play was pretty good. The course was in horrible condition. On the front 9 holes, there was more dead grass and bare patches of mud than healthy grass. The greens were heavily damaged from the winter. Tee boxes were in lousy condition as well. We paid for 18 holes, but called it quits after 9 holes because of the poor condition of the golf course. This golf course should not be open for play, due to the current extremely poor condition of course. This experience was a complete waste of money and time! With all that being said, the staff was very friendly and helpful.
Nice course, good value with Golf Now
Overall it was good, the Starter was pleasant but did not mention pin placement, bathrooms and more importantly the absolute ridiculous tee off directions from the front to back nine.
We had a novice 4 some in front of us, a Marshall would have recognized that they were new to the game and slow and could have directed flow.
The greens were in great shape and the Course was stunning in the fall with the changing of the leaves.
It is challenging with narrowed fairways to the green but reasonable for the average player.
Overall very enjoyable.
nice course
the course was in good condition, greens good, cart paths were awful. too many slow players.
Good shape
Its a short course for big hitters some par 4s are reachable the cousre is in good shape was worth the money through golf now
Horrible layout and pace of play
This was my first time playing this course.
Their website course layout doesn't match their score card or the golf now score card /GPS.
Most of their par three's have the wrong distance reading on them. Clubs that should have gone 150 yards were over shooting greens marked 175 or better.
No proper signage directing where to go between holes and some are spread quite far apart.
A lot of repair work being done but no one actually doing it. Throughout most of the back nine you can hear the music and noise from the water park.
