Settlers' Ghost Golf Club
About
Settler’s Ghost Golf Club is located just outside of Barrie on what was formerly an important Huron Indian settlement. The golf course is an homage to the former inhabitants of the land, including the Huron Indians and emigrants from the British Isles. The golf course was built to maintain the historical integrity and scenic features of the rustic, rolling landscape. The dramatic elevations throughout the course offer stunning panoramic views of the Niagara Escarpment and the Georgian Bay. Settler’s Ghost Golf Club is relatively short at 6,311 yards from the back tees, but there are still some lengthy shots that will appeal to long hitters, including the par-5 eighth, which stretches to 539 yards.

good course
this course is always nice to play! a few blind shots. Greens and most of the fairways in great shape especially considering the dry conditions that have prevailed this summer
Nice course, beautiful views of the area!
Easy drive from GTA, holes offer a real varsity & challenge
Greens were faster than expected!
Great Afternoon at Settlers Ghost
Course is somewhat challenging with some blind shots, but very enjoyable to play.
Green were in excellent condtiion but some fairways were showing distress due to the heat.
I will be back
Very good value for an enjoyable track
Greens are in the best shape they have ever been in, despite the dry conditions. I would guess they are rolling at a 11-12 stimp which is very good for a public course. Bunkers could use some sand though. Overall it is a very enjoyable course that is very narrow but good fairways/tee boxes/and greens lead to an enjoyable round that had me using my 5 wood off the tee often. Tough par 3's from the tips as well and some very risk and reward par 5's.
A Must to Play
This is a wonderful course to enjoy. Great layout, beautiful scenery and a real challenge on the greens. It's in super condition, and worth your while to go out of your way to play this course.
Great Condition
The greens are in excellent shape - 150% better than in 2015.
We finished the round in 3 hr 5 minutes.
Note there is no flat lies on this course. The ball is always above or below your feet.
Beautiful day
The course was in good shape even with the lack of rain. The pace of play was great. The greens were running true
Great Track.
Settlers Ghost is one of my favourite tracks because of its well groomed fairways, greens and level tee decks. The well sculptured holes challenge all levels of handicaps because of the 4 sets of tees offered. A majestic vista of views keeps you smiling allowing for a great day no matter what score ends up on the card. Great greens for putting, great staff with exceptional customer service. Only downfall is the many blind shot holes. One has to take a peek with the cart to see where you are hitting to, making it a bit slow but soon after a couple of rounds will you enjoy fully. I will totally return as well as my son, he loved his experience and the course.
GREAT VALUE. VERY NICE COURSE
We played on a beautiful Tuesday afternoon and the course was in pretty good shape. Especially with the lack of rain this year. The pace was good and the staff very friendly. The only thing I would say was under par was the sand traps. Not terrible but not good. Would play there again soon.
Great Course!
Lots of elevation changes so lies were not flat, but very playable and enjoyable. A good challenge and lots of fun.
Too many blind holes
Almost every non-par3 has at least one blind shot. Which isn't a terrible thing, except when they pack tee times in like sardines, it is extremely frustrating waiting to take a shot, taking a guess when it's safe to hit.
The course is taken care of pretty well, I'd say above average for a course this price, but the staff only seem to be there to give players a hassle. I wanted to play 9 more holes after my round, and they wanted to charge me for a brand new round. Everywhere else I play usually let you go back out for a cart fee.
Excellent Course
Great condition and the greens were in immaculate shape. The course is not as long as I am used to, however, due to the elevation the course plays long. Got is for a steal on GolfNow and it was worth every penny!
Great track!
Always in great shape. Fast greens.
Must play in the Barrie area
Got a good deal on golfnow for this course. Lots of elevated tee shots, and also some blind tee shots. Had an interesting layout, with lots of opportunities for birdies. Greens rolled very nice and were very true.
very nice course
First time playing this course while vacationing in this area of Ontario, had a great time , course in good condition, greens OK not always rolling true, kind of challenging, lots of blind holes, will play again
Great value for a decent course
Conditions were great for this time of year (May). Also, its a great course during the buggy season as there are no bugs on this course due to open terrain. Other courses at this time of year can be a problem with black flies and mosquitos
Good short but tough course
Slow greens during our round and slow pace of play made for an almost 5 hour round of golf but the course is in good shape and an enjoyable experience.
A Great Day of Golf
The greens are a challenge on this very hilly course.
The course conditions were ideal and the staff very cooperative. All in all a super experience
Settlers
Great course overall a little slow today due to a class that was taking place ahead of us.
