Settlers' Ghost Golf Club
About
Settler’s Ghost Golf Club is located just outside of Barrie on what was formerly an important Huron Indian settlement. The golf course is an homage to the former inhabitants of the land, including the Huron Indians and emigrants from the British Isles. The golf course was built to maintain the historical integrity and scenic features of the rustic, rolling landscape. The dramatic elevations throughout the course offer stunning panoramic views of the Niagara Escarpment and the Georgian Bay. Settler’s Ghost Golf Club is relatively short at 6,311 yards from the back tees, but there are still some lengthy shots that will appeal to long hitters, including the par-5 eighth, which stretches to 539 yards.

Beautifully deceiving!
Enjoyed my first time here. Didn't know what to expect but it challenges my mind and my game. I'm a novice player but find it relaxing to walk a course but this one is a trek and a cart is highly recommended! Pace is a little slower especially when going up hill towards the pin. I especially enjoyed the mystery of not knowing where to aim due to the hills and bends around the course. Definitely recommend to play and enjoy a cold brewski along the way! The view is wonderful!
Up and Down
Have a ride - awesome golf course - great views - not easy but fair
great condition
This place is in great condition, greens rolling fast and true. Great value will return ASAP
Beautiful scenery
Great friendly staff, course in great condition, the scenery is breathtaking
Nice layout
This course is well laid out , with friendly staff & pretty forgiving if you hit a wayward ball , , lots of hills even when using a cart so best to keep it close to or on the fairway
Great Day at Settlers Ghost
Tons of fun. It's nice to play a big challenging course that's rewards golfers like me that don't get out that often. Played early in the AM, so was unable to sample food and bev. Staff were helpful and courteous.
Great value
$50 round, I would have paid $100 plus for something of this caliber. Fun, hilly course and phenomenal views. I highly recommend it.
setlers ghost
Awesome course in great shape. Played it in just over 4hours. Very friendly and accommodating staff. Definitely will play it again.
Good value. Beautiful elevated views.
Course was in good shape for so early in the season.
Staff were helpful.
Many blind tee shots so best to know what lies down the fairway before teeing it up. Greens are hard to hold but in good shape.
Worth the money.
Nice course
Very nice course however is very crowed together, alot of balls on wrong fairways! Not much trouble and to very long ,great course if you are taking your wife!got great deal on golf now $30 with cart! Great course at that price!
Beautiful Course
Amazing course for the money on Golfnow, nice greens and fairways. A good challenge
A scenic gem
This is a delightful course, well maintained and playable provided you choose the proper tees. It is fairly open, with a links you feel except for the fairly dramatic elevation changes. This was my second time playing the course in as many days and the guy I paired up with elected to join me for another 18 holes for which we were charged twelve bucks. How do you beat that? I would suggest that this course is a must play if you are in the area.
Course is very challenging
Needs to be accurate on your drives. Greens are well manicured and undulating
Its OK
The course is in great shape. The greens are very fast. The views are awesome! Unfortunately there are a lot of blind holes/shots. The hole signs and the score card have no pictures of the holes or where the sand traps/hazards are located. Just did not seem fair. We left feeling frustrated.
Nice layout
This year was the first time I played Settlers and now have played it at least 6 times. The tips are 6400 yards, blue is 6000 yards and the white is 5500. The course has always been in great shape and the greens are usually pretty slick. My wife and I both enjoy playing there. The staff is very friendly and the members go out of their way.
Settlers Ghost
The course was in good shape for this time of year. Greens were very quick.
a nice course
the only negative were the rental club
Worst I have ever had but to their credit they did not charge for them
Fall View is a bonus
Excellent shape for this time of year, well done Settlers
Great course
Settler's Ghost is a great course. Several holes are blind off the tee due to the hilly nature of the course and flat lies are hard to come by. Greens, traps and fairways are all in excellent condition. The bonus today was $10 per person green fee plus tax and booking fees, but including cart!
Scenic
A beautiful course, very scenic and great variety in the holes. Challenging enough but nothing that you would find to be overwhelming. Look forward to playing there again. Lots of blind shots for a first timer there.
