Glen Eagle Golf Club - Red/Blue
About
Glen Eagle Golf Club, which is situated just northwest of Toronto, offers 27 holes of championship golf that are played in three different 18-hole combinations. The Red/Blue Course features undulating fairways and large, heavily contoured greens that move fast. The Red nine is the most difficult of the three nines at the club. It demands keen course management skills and accurate tee shots. It also requires a few long drives at 3, 521 yards form the tips. The Blue nine is challenging as well, but there are birdie opportunities on the 5th and 7th since their greens aren't elevated like all of the others.

Fast greens in great condition
Was greeted by friendly staff at clubhouse.
My booking was for a twosome and we were partnered with another twosome that had also booked through Golf Now.
We had a challenging round as the greens played fast and were in immaculate condition.
Will definitely use Golf Now in the future.
Great day for glen eagle
My friend and i teed off at 11:18 and the weather was 25 degrees and sunny! It was slightly backed up for the first three holes , but expected being a twosome in between foursomes. However we played through and did not see anyone until 15! Not bad for a friday.
Alessia, the beverage cart employee was fantastic. The halfway house between blue and yellow was not open and she offered to go back to the clubhouse to get us whatever we wanted!
Course was in great shape. Do not get caught in the trees even though they appear safe. Shooting out of the low hanging pines is very difficult.
Rough is dry and hard on this mature course, so expect some longer bounces when you land there.
As always, well worth the money!
smooth greens
I play here once or twice a year. the greens were in great shape for the most part, and balls seemed to roll true and I ultimately had a great putting day with zero 3-putts. Pace was great as our group tee'd off at 7:30am, until we caught up to a tournament on our 2nd nine. I actually booked the yellow nine but the starter marshall had us play the blue and red nines instead. I wish the rough was cut slightly shorter as it was difficult to locate balls that missed the fairways. I had to take a penalty b/c I couldnt find my ball in an open area of rough. (PLEASE CUT THE GRASS!)
SLow pace of play and awkward ending
The course is made up of three 9-hole segments (blue, yellow and red). We were assigned to play red+blue combination. Problem was the blue segment finishes out in the middle of nowhere so we had to drive a long distance back to club house which was quite onerous.
The pace of play was also slow. The foursome ahead of us were all over the course and hitting repeat mulligans and practice shots even while they knew they were backing up the groups behind them - with no sign of marshal throughout the whole round.
Otherwise, the course layout is nice and condition is great.
Nice course, good value in GTA
Good challenging course, staff is great. Lots of tournaments but when those are not around it's a good track to move around in about 4 hours. The course is very walkable and has junior tees set up for the younger players.
Eagle nest is awesome
It was awesome. Condition is good n course is so beautiful atmosphere. I had fun with companies.
This course is called "Glen Eagle".
'Eagle's nest", as you refer to in your title, is a very different, much higher-end track. Which one are you referring to?
Good service
15 minutes delay in start but gave us a bucket of balls to warm up.
Friendly staff and good condition.
I shot the best score for the season.
Greens excellent condition and speed
Layout, super. Fairways, super. Greens, running about 11 on stimp and super smooth and true! Bunkers, awfull, topsoil for sand.
Enjoyable
Always enjoy my rounds here...and I have to say this course may have the friendliest staff...everyone was very helpful and personable.
Ill be back aoon
good course
The golf course was in good shape. some greens still shows signs of winter damage but you can see the greens will be in perfect shape soon. We were a little disappointed to find out that we would be playing the same 9 twice due to a tournament. This should have been made clear on the website so we would not have been surprised upon arrival. Otherwise a fun playable course.
nice course
fairways were very good, most of the greens were very good. overall it is worth the higher price and if you get a golfnow deal, its very good
nice course
Played blue/yellow course is in good shape so were greens a few winter burn out spots here and there overall had a good round
Great day of golf!
Our group of 4 had our t-off time at 3:10pm ,and we started at 3:05pm...perfect!
-Starters were friendly and with good direction.
-Group in from of us played from the blues...but were not good enough to do so and slowed our round of golf a little.
-Weather was excellent.
-Conditions of fairways and greens were very good.
-I have golfed here several times in the past, and each occasion was good.
-our golfnow discount allowed us to play for $39.00 including cart. Great value, and I would play again at this rate.
Has potential
Course has nice old trees and good variety of terrain. It could be cleaned up to get to the next level. Greens and some of the sand traps need some work.
Good conditions
Course in good condition for time of year. Helpful and friendly staff. Plus got a great deal.
Good price for this time of year
Not all holes open, played half blue, then yellow. Lots of golf balls hiding under leaves. Still in good shape considering lateness of year.
Late Fall Golf
It was a chilly but playable day at Glen Eagle. Course conditions were as expected. A lot of staff were "winterizing" the course and there were no on-course staff. Players were directed to a hybrid list of holes between the 3 nine-holes. Started at the Blue (3 holes) then 3 Yellow and then the remainder of the front-nine on the Blue. The back-nine was on the Red. Unfortunately, the pro shop sent out players on both sets of tees even though at the turn we had to wait for those beginning their game on the Red course. Very slow on the back nine.
The course is very nice and has a lot of different elevations. We couldn't find many on-fairway yardage markers and some of the Par-3s had no visible markers at all.
There was no clubhouse services available although there is a conference center with facilities available but not to the golfers. We had to negotiate for a cup of coffee.
I'm sure the course is nice during the height of the golf season and would recommend it.
Course looks to be closing for season
Normally this course is a great day with plenty of challenge and good conditions. Playing conditions yesterday were frankly poor. Aerated/sandy greens and leaves left on the greens lead to disappointment. Looks like they're closing for the season. May be worth the hot deal price however be prepared for less than average conditions.
I really enjoyed the course. Great day
Good layout. Really nice greens. Course well looked after.
Only negative was the hard sand in the traps. Need new sand
Overall a fun course
Zero course management
Course over books - they have golfers teeing off and at the same time having WEDDING PARTY TAKE PICTURES DRIVE THROUGH COURSE - while golfers are still on course. Why would you allow Wedding party to take pictures right in the middle of your paying golfers round. We found the starters very dismissive - I 'm not interested in playing 6 HOUR ROUNDS. Also finshed round Finally at end of the course and have to drive back - NEVER heard of such stupidity - ALL the cart paths are dirt so you get the behind dust thankyou very much for that - again poor management and very impolite staff -I am a paying customer and my group should be given courtesy - as if we don't want you hear - we don't need your money - we don't make your round enjoyable -Take this Glen eagles of Gold Now -its pathetic and I will definitely tell others never to go to that unprofessional outdated course ever.
I never penalize myself when I know my ball is lying "right there somewhere". My excuse is that if I had TV cameras and a gallery following me around like the pros - they'd find it ;)
