okay, not well designed
Between the goose feathers(white) and marsh areas, good luck finding your ball. The excessive winding marsh area has no shortcuts, if errant shots hit the other fairway, not worth going to get it.
Not bad like playing a real 18
The distance is great nice to see a 9 hole course with holes up to 600 yards I mean the smallest hole was 140 yards where as a typical course is mostly 90-120 yard holes its a joke.
This course is in poor shape.
This course is in very bad shape. It is alright to bring a newbie on. The greens were not maintained, and the bunkers definitely were not being looked after. The practice green is not useable either.
long and negeleted course
No golfers nor any maintenace staff! Desolate course because
of burnt out greens, lots of water in sand traps and poor
mannered owner!
No wonder there aren't any golfers on course especially
on "long weekend".Once a good course,Parkshore is now the
pits!!
Only cheap green fees from "GolfNow" attract golfers!
Too bad!
Very slow play, course in rough shape
Over 3 hours to play 9 holes. Large areas of course are bare. Not worth the money, as inexpensive as it is.
Play was a bit slow, but good value
The course was in surprisingly good shape. The greens were very fast, but true. A marshall might have moved things along a bit. We only played 9 holes, but it took almost 2 1/2 hours, and for a non-busy day, that is too long.
Very long 9 hole course with a neat layout
The course wasnt in the best of shape;
-half the sand traps were dried up mud
-greens and fairways burnt up
-cups needed changed badly.
Not bad for the $10 green fee but wouldn't pay full price for this course.
good value
Course is very long and challenging. Conditions are decent despite rain damage. Greens are a little slow. Great value with golfnow discount.
good length for the money on a hot deal
Course has good length and no shortage of water hazards. Unfortunately the bunkers have no drainage so they became water hazards as well! This course isn't bad for less than $20 for 9 but that's the most I'd pay for it. Parkshore has taken a turn for the worse in the past few years and needs more attention/money put into course maintenance.
Great Layour, Poor Condition
Parkshore in Brampton is a great 9 hole layout. Length, and requirements of accuracy are strongpoints. However, the condition of this course is in need of attention. Lack of grass growth in fairways & dire need of cutting down of shrubbery and bushes.
I will play there again, however I would love to see the condition improve.
Bored marshall
I have played parkshore literally for years, going on 15 now. It jsed to be a great 9 hole. Now it is never watered and rarely kept well.
Fairways are hard as a rock and i shot a club down every hole to compensate for the roll and bounce. Greens were very long and slow.
The staff are hit and miss and one marshall in particular followed us for the first 2 holes until we asked him to give us some space.
Wanted the replay at twillight for 10 dollars of which we would have only got 4 holes in but they tried to charge cart again as well for just under 20!?!? We walked out and left. The new ownership is more interested in their other ventures and i am no longer interested in any of theirs.
Play this course if you are short on time or just want to hack around. Would reccomend turnberry for a similar price and a full 18 even though its par threes and two fours.
Very good value.
Although the parking lot and club house are quite rough, and the greens are somewhat slow, this nine hole course is very good value for the money. Water is the dominant feature on most holes, but the course is fair. And with very few trees, the length of the holes is not intimidating. I played it on a Monday morning and it was not busy. The price was definitely right for me.
This course requires some TLC
The quality of the this course has declined significantly with the new owners. The hired staff in the pro-shop are courteous but the owners are rude. If you are fortunate you will deal with the former. The green fees are low for this course but are definitely in line with the experience. They have a special where you can play a 2nd 9 the same day at Castlemore (owned by the same family) for $10. Even at $10 you getting what you pay for.
They need to hire a gardener/grounds keeper to perform some much needed maintenance; not only on the course but around the clubhouse. The fairways have many bare spots, some right around 100 yards in.
This course looks like it was built on a swamp. We played the day after a fairly heavy shower. The walkways between holes were under water on at least 5 of the nine holes and we had no choice but to walk through the water to get to the next hole. Bridges should be built in at least four locations and a longer bridge is required on the 8th/9th hole. The green on the 8th and tee of the 9th were inaccessible due to flooding.
Claimed The Longest 9-Holes in Ontario!
Most fairway requires attention, in particular sand bunkers are hard and filled with water!
Booked at last minute and green fee due at club. Staff told they accept CASH only, NO CREDIT CARD ACCEPTED. But Pro-Shop entrance and cashier counter with VISA/MASTERCARD/AMERICAN EXPRESS....logo for payment.
Have to use ATM in Pro Shop, but ATM charged $1.99 per cash withdraw plus bank charges!!!!
CRA will chase after them!!
Bombers paradise, but rough is very unforgiving. You will lose balls in plain sight.
This course has many blind tee shots and hazards on each side, your driver needs to be ON. Bunker sand is very heavy and sand traps are abundantly placed and awaiting slice and hooked shots of the average golfer. The fairway grass is playable but poorly maintained with lots of empty patches and the rough is very thick and really need to wack away to get ball flight. The greens are fairly straight forward and do not have much break; we played after rain so they were slow and had little break.
I would strongly suggest to play this course from ladies :) Par 5's from the blues are close to 600yrds.
For the price of a range bucket you can play 9 holes so I would strongly recommend this place to anyone looking for a value round. We paid $19/pp on a Sunday; it's even more affordable on weekdays.
Be prepared to lose a lot of balls and you won't find anything better than a top flite ball here :)
Greens require attention
Paths were under water, very wet, you get what you pay for.
Grounds need attention, our shoes ended up soaked from all the puddles and poor grass.
Hackers course
I was told I needed to call in and book a tee time even though I booked a tee time through golfnow.com. Also, cash only is unacceptable this day in age.
Don't play here
There is no marshal to begin with. The grounds are not taken care of in the least. It looks like someone's back yard. The bunkers are mud and not sand. The fairway was all patchy and muddy. The green was full of goose excrement, and I couldn't putt. Basically I will never go back. The only thing it has going for it is that it is a very long 9 hole play. So if that's what your looking for this may suffice, otherwise I would highly recommend staying away from this course
A fun challenge
This course is a lot of fun to play. It's always worth playing, no matter what the discount is. The greens have been in good shape (not impeccable) every time I've played and the rough is fairly thick throughout. This course will test your accuracy and consistency. This is a long course with a few really nice hazards that come into play. I play it every chance I get to practice.
Poorly Maintained Course
This is a great deal if you want to practice the long ball. I would not recommend this course to a beginner, even though the price is cheap. Fairways could use a little more TLC. Actually, the whole course could use a little TLC. Clubhouse mens bathroom has a terrible odour. Maybe clubhouse is not the correct word for this structure.
