Hidden Lake Golf Club - New Course

Practice tee was on mats and no sign of any putting greens to warm up on prior to start of the round.

All of the greens on the New Course have issues. It was like putting through a mine field. The 9th is not over the water but on the temp.

Fairways have issues!

Stopped for a hotdog at the turn. It was ice cold! I couldn't believe it.

To be fair I've played the New prior to or after a competitive event and the course was perfect. But this winter killed HL. I will not be playing there for the rest of the year.

The course is impriving after a very rough winter and starting to come around. Have played this course before and this time was slow-usually playable in 4.5 hours. Greens were slow as they are recovering from the rough winter. It will get better.

all tees and greens were open. bunkers were in good condition. overall good shape. play on a discount rate, not worth $100

The course was fun to play but the fair ways and greens were not up to standards with regards to a course who charges these kinds of green fees. They could use a little work on the greens

The winter was exceptionally hard on the greens and they are in bad shape ! It's like putting on a Parcheesi board at times .There was no rangers to be seen which made it into a 5 hour game ! Oh well , it was holiday Monday and it was just great to get outdoors . I hope Clublink keeps the course in the same shape as the previous owners because I'll be going back to play again !

As with most courses in Southern Ontario this year, Hidden Lake was not spared. Unfortunately, the loss and damage to mature trees will take a considerable time to correct. However, repairs to the greens and fairways is already underway. Both had been reseeded and the greens rolled to be relatively smooth. Only the putting greens remained covered and were unavailable for use. Given reasonable weather, turf damage should be mostly repaired by summer.

Almost all the greens were bad, brown or dead in spots a lot of bumps too. Made it really hard to putt. Fairways were decent but some spots were really wet

Course was not in good condition, actually terrible. This is not an exaggeration, lots of patches of dead on the green. Perhaps irrigation problems, two of the holes had large pool of water. Not good right now, and I'm very disappointed to give this poor review as I have played this course (Old) before it was fine.

I always enjoy this course and after the winter in 2014 it is amazing how good the greens are here in may compared to others in the area. This is always one of my favorite courses to play.

Check in did not make one feel welcome,biggest concern .dictating rules with regards to cart path.played on day when conditions were bad &we understood this.did not need warnings from them over &over about the rules.at our age we fully understand what to do ,they treated us like little kids &did not appreciate .staff in pro shop not friendly ,starter completely different made us feel welcome.

We were lucky to get our round in between rain storms but the sun was shining for our round. But due to the heavy rain previously, there was severe flooding (and poor drainage). there were some fairways under water. The greens other than one had lots of winter damage. We got great golfnow deal so still good value for our round. The clubhouse washrom did not have running water.

Both the New and Old courses have been a favourite of mine for the past decade. While I live in Mississauga the drive to get there is always easy and peaceful if you take the back roads.

This past winter has been particularly tough throughout south western Ontario and unfortunately Hidden Lakes suffered as most courses are still cleaning up.

Surprisingly, the course was almost too dry for this time of year. The staff has done a tremendous job of clearing fallen trees and branches. The bunkers while not in mid season form were very playable and should be above average by mid season.

The staff were friendly as always. The course has new owners in Clublink however, it's too early to tell what type of impact the sale will have on the course.

The range is open along with grass tee's, I found it a little strange that their practice putting green was still covered by gigantic tarp!

The fairways were decent and free if winter debris. Only one temporary green was in play on the new course. It was number 9 on the new course.

Unfortunately, it was the best of te greens.

Winter had devastated much of the greens throughout.

I was very disappointed in the condition especially considering it doesn't take much to make a golfer happy at this time of year. The greens were dry, burnt, and had recently been seeded but the seed was too dry and was all over the burned and non burned patches of grass. The greens were anything but.

So if you're planning on playing, do yourself a huge favour and wait till June hopefully by then the greens will be back.

I had heard that Hidden Lakes was a nice course and I was not disappointed. The vistas are great. The course is pretty well maintained and a great test for all ranges of golfers. I would recommend this course to anyone.

Although it turned out alright, the place was just chaos from the get go. To many people booked for that Sunday. had to wait to get a cart. The play turned out okay. It took just over 4.5 hrs. Course was in good shape, played the new course. Overall experience was okay. Course you would play once or twice a year.

Unsatisfactory course management and customer service.

We all know playing golf and teeing off in the early morning is one of the best feeling, and that is why there is a premium price on those tee times. We don't mind paying it because there is something money can't buy ...

That said, what money should buy and what we expected for our premium price would have included friendly and competent staff rather than rude and inconsiderate marshalls demanding golfers to play "ready golf" at the first tee because management has over booked the course and the schedule is tight.

Even though the request seems unreasonable and not fair ... we still obliged, as did all the other groups. It didn't bother us too much since we decided to just play it through knowing very well that we will never return again.

We must say that the course layout is very nice and the greens are well maintained. It is a beautiful course that is not too challenging unless you are teeing off from the blacks, which we did after waiting to tee off on every holes.

Nice course but they seem to neglect the salient things that can make a great course become the worst. There are so many better courses out there for the premium price.

I actually really enjoyed my round at this course. Its been 15 years since I last played it and not much has changed. Greens were in great shape with good speed and fairways in pretty good shape. The course isn't the toughest, that's for sure, but quite enjoyable and has that casual golf club feel with a nice patio outside and many people enjoying themselves.

Me and a few buddies decided to try this course out. We usually play 3-4times a week and looking for a course to make our regular course.

Won't be this one.

Greens are nice and fast...but diseased.
Beer cart girl came around for the first time as we were putting out on 17.
The twosome in front of us didn't have anyone in front of them for 3 holes but took about 20+ mins on each hole.

As for the pro shop...We booked through golfnow...only to pay for the cart on top - when it was supposed to be included.
Then when we tried to re-round they wanted to charge us MORE for the re-round then they did for the initial round!
Just because we booked through Golfnow.
I don't like being treated differently because I'm a golfnow customer.

Funny thing is someone else had the same feelings about the course but we dismissed it.

We and the dozens of other golfers I golf with will NOT be returning.

Hidden Lakes is always in great shape with challenging greens. Get your speed right and you can score at this course.

I have played Hidden Lake for many years, both Old & New course. I find the service has deteriorated slightly in regards to amenities. The halfway house was not fully stocked with food (hot dogs, sausages, sandwiches, etc and only had a selection of chips and chocolate bars. The food cart was not seen on the front nine and only saw it once throughout the round. Many of the ball washers were without water and in ill repair. Despite these issues, the course is still a good trek and challenges most average golfers.
