Had to pay for a player that had an emergency and couldn't play.....not impressed will not play that course again
good course
this is not my first time playing this course and it was really good. they had the junior golfer's championship earlier in the day and the pins were all white and not telling of their location on the green. The tee markers were also moved as on a couple of holes, the tees were playing longer than the tips. overall the course conditions were really good and the ball was rolling true. pace of play was okay, but as two guys playing, we had to wait for the two foursomes in front of us. the fairways are generously wide, but your balls will disappear if you hit into the long fescue on the edge.
Great time this round
I love this course. I've played there for 12 years now and it has recently been taken over by ClubLink. With them taking over, there are some improvements and some decline. The improvements are mainly on the course, but the pace of play is gotten worse along with the food service.
I don't really care about the latter, so I still love the course. This week the Southern Ontario Open was there so the course is in great shape. The practice facility is great too which is something a lot of people overlook.
Since the host the Southern Ontario Open and the Canadian Open Qualifiers when the RBC is at Hamilton, then you know the course is a players course.
Pleasant all around
Friendly staff, course is in very good condition.challenging but wide fairways give you a chance. Pretty long from the tips if you need it.
Great course
Hidden Lakes is really a great course. Layout is great and course was a good condition. Pace of play was excellent.
Just OK
had not played the Old course in many years and found the layout outdated compared to the new designers coming to the fore in the last 20 years, but still good enough for an interesting test for high to mid handicappers.
Now a Clublink Course
Hidden Lake has always been a course that's worth playing but looks to have stepped up their conditions since being acquired into the Clublink group. Conditions were great. A foursome playing end of the day with carts and completing in less than 4 hours was really nice. Fairways, greens, bunkers - all in really good condition.
Always enjoyable
Always enjoy playing either course at Hidden Lake. Greens roll true and were very consistent. New course is definitely easier being more open with very few blind shots. There are lots of interesting holes to get every club out of the bag but everything is right in front of you with no surprises. Nice practice facility as well. Played in 4.5 hours on a beautiful Saturday afternoon.
Great Twi-light Golf
Had a 6pm time but got off 20 minutes early. Course is in excellent shape - greens are fast and true. As a threesome in carts completed the round in 3.5 hrs. Could have been quicker if it wasn't for the walking twosome who eventually let us through at #11.
I'll definitely be back!
link style course
I have to say this is a good links style course. it rewards great shots onto the fairway, but will eat yout balls if you spray your balls into the tall deep fescue. do bring a few extra balls, you will need them. the greens were rolling true and moderately fast
The course is open and in good condition
We played behind a slow foursome which is frustrating at time and two of them played from the gold tee and spent time looking for balls.
WILL COME BACK, FOR SURE
Course was in great shape, damp because of rains, but played well. Would have liked GPS in the carts, a lot of undulating greens that are not visible from afar. Otherwise a perfect round!!
Great day!
Course was in great condition. 4.50hr round. Only saw the cart girl twice. Had a cart to myself. Purchased a hot deal the night before the round. Paired up with some good people. Overall a great day
Great Course
Hidden Lakes New Course is a well thought out and designed course. One of the best in the area. A good length with multiple tee boxes allow you to pull out driver on most holes. 5 par 5s too! I'll be back.
Good from FORE
Got on with a hot deal and played late in the day. Coarse was in amazing shape greens were super slow got to be really aggressive with my putts
Fairways beautiful really challenging but forgiving
Can't wait to play this gem again
Less than 4 hrs
Pace of play was great, fairways were quite torn up. Any day I can play in less than 4 hrs is a good day by me.
Good Day
Enjoyed the round. Got on here with a hot deal . Don't think I would pay full pop to play here. Course in good shape, greens a bit slow. Some patchy spots in a couple of fairways. Starter was extremely nice to us.
I'll be back
I've played the old course a couple of times in the past, but this was our first time on the New. It was still early in the season with the late winter, so the greens had been aerated and top-dressed several days prior to us playing. The front nine had almost fully recovered but the back 9 was a bit bumpy and slower. (Probably a good thing being only my second outing of the year). I can see them being lightning fast the next time I visit! They were also quite undulating. The fescue hadn't grown in yet, so, again, the conditions were a little more forgiving in that respect.Overall, it's a somewhat forgiving layout, but very pretty, and interesting. We played in under 4 hours on a beautiful, sunny, Sunday afternoon. Remarkable!
hidden lakes
Great weather April 29, good conditions for this time of year, played in 4 hours for a 3some, great hot deal
special from golfnow ..may go back again for same deal
Course has very long par 5's
Played in the early spring for a great price and the course was in excellent condition especially considering our harsh winter. Par 5's are very challenging given their length (and generally into the prevailing winds). Overall, the course is fairly long, but multiple tee boxes allow for a fair challenge to all levels of player. Water in play for a few holes, but lots or traps. Really enjoyed the day and would recommend this course.
