Slow Play
Terrible pace of play. They overbook and wonder why it gets back up. Marshals need to do more to push people along. Fairway on 10 on the new course is destroyed. HOWEVER, excellent value for the course and still gets 5 stars from me because the staff awesome and extremely friendly. I will definitely be coming back to play more.
Horrible day at hidden lake
The round took over 5 hrs - the marshals did not solve several slow groups- Barry one of the marshals when asked about the slow play told me that ii do not work for him and stepped up to me within 5 inches of my face and crossed his arms - no one should ever step up to another person - when I talked to the head pro he said that they have issues with Barry and he gets that way in tense situations - while talking with the head pro I stepped up to him within 5 inches and asked him if he was uncomfortable - he said yes - I than said now he can feel like I did when Barry stepped up to me - horrible round - not close to the service you should have at a club link course - grew up playing this course and will not return
Nice Course
It seems as though there is no money being put toward maintenance of the old course. I though when Clublink bought Hidden Lake they would spend some money to keep it in good shape, but that has not happened as far as I can tell. Fairways are rough with a power cart. Tee boxes have lots of divots for the beginning of the season. The cart paths need repairing. All that said, I do like the layout and the course does give a moderate amount of challenge. But still, I wouldn't pay the full price of $80 for the current conditions.
Walkable, fair, decent greens.
If this course was always $50 to walk I’d come more often. A bit slow due to the noobs on the course, but whatever you should expect that on a public course. They have a great driving range. I will definitely play this again.
Hidden Lake Old
Course is in early spring shape, a bit overgrown and certainly pocked with lots of grass clippings. Greens are fair and fairways good for this time of year. well organized and easy to get around in am in 4 hours or less walking.
Hidden Lake
Course was recommended by friends. Found the course in good spring condition. Gently rolling course, challenging layout. Was not crazy about the 18th finishing hole par 3. Beer patio was nice, friendly staff. Good proshop, well stocked and friendly
November Golf
I would say the course is in decent shape for November. I thought the greens were rolling fairly well. The bunker sand is decent, but feels like it hasn't been groomed in a while. But no stones like with the New course. Also like the New course, for this price point Clublink should invest in some more maintenance. And their power carts are antiques. The staff seemed friendly.
Colourful Golf
I haven't golfed Hidden Lake-Old Course in a couple of years because of the huge Covid price increase, like most other courses in the area, but this day was a great deal through Golfnow. I've played this course a number of times and I love it's character. And this time of year brings out the beautiful fall colours.
The course is in fairly good shape except for one fairway. A decent test of ones ability.
