Twin Creeks Golf Course
About
Arnold Palmer and Ed Seay designed the Golf Club at Twin Creeks (named after the two creeks that run through the course) to integrate with five strategically placed lakes that come into play. For the most part, the fairways here are generous, rolling peacefully toward large, undulating greens. Hole 11 is one of the best, a 383-yard par 4 with trees lining the fairway and a difficult green guarded by several giant pecan trees. No. 17, a 409-yarder with water on the right, requires a monster drive to carry the full body of water. The best play is to aim left even though the approach will be a bit longer. Golf Digest has rated Twin Creeks as high as 10th for the "Best Public Course" in Texas.

No warning about Tournament; Pace of Play Unacceptable
I’ve played here dozens of times on the weekends, and like with any public course, you shouldn’t expect any pace faster than 4.5 hours. However today, there was a tournament held in the morning. I didn’t tee off until 20 minutes after my tee time, there were no carts available, and the pace was 6-6.5 hours. I just ended up leaving after 7 holes and 3 hours, because it’s just insane at this point.
Greed is the name of the game post-covid, but hopefully it’ll catch up to these public courses. A 4 hour pace is 14 minutes per hole… start setting tee times that allow for said pace. Teeing off 20 minutes late and being stacked in 8-9 min tee times is a recipe for a horrific experience that could easily be avoided with better pacing and a heads up about tournament events.
Greens were covered in Sand.
Awful putting conditions, find a different course in Dallas. Paid full price for putting on a beach.
Club house poor
Wife is just getting into golf and wanted to ride as I was a single joining a group of 3. Was told no extra carts even when offered to pay extra for cart. You mean to tell me there are no extra carts... What a crock. No refund, told tough and couldn't play. You would hope course would be a little more flexible to grow the game not hinder it. Will never go back here based on the treatment to my wife or myself.
Slow play still exists
Lots of singles and twosomes not grouped together. Management could increase the speed of play if they grouped golfers. Active marshal would be helpful.
Attitude in the pro shop
I’ve been here 2 times. Place is awesome. But why is it that the dudes in the pro shop think that they’re above the ppl paying to play at the course they work at? Got there for a fairly early 6:27 tee time. The cart guy welcomes us in to the pro shop telling the guy in there “you got some guest waiting out here” to which this dude George responds “well they’re gonna have to keep waiting!” With the worst attitude. It’s like bro you applied to work here. We didn’t force you to get up in the morning to come to work. You signed up for this. We pay your wage. This course is awesome. I dig it, but stuff like this makes me mad. George needs to change his crappy attitude. Do your job or don’t show up. Aside from George being rude, this place is awesome. Get it together George.
There’s a golf course in the middle of a park
Never understood people who are not golfing but have the desire to walk through a golf course while people are playing. I understand the weather is nice, but I’ve never thought, “ooooh great day to possibly get hit by a golf ball while standing in the middle of the fairway walking my kids/dog.” Absolutely idiotic. But, I can’t fully blame the people - responsibility should fall on the course for allowing the walking public to just meander on the course. Not a marshall in sight to monitor pace of play or anything!
Speaking of pace of play, seems like everyone here wants to play as a single and stack up people on a tee box one after the other. Again - where is a marshall?
Course itself is nothing to write home about either. Bare spots on fairways and near/on greens. I’d pay $10 at best for this dog track. Certainly not the $60 they’re charging.
Horrible management
No marshal in duty.
Overall pace was very slow and they ran out of carts.
I was able to tee off about 20 minutes after my original tee time due to lack of carts.
While waiting, saw those playing the last hole and they sevral groups played average 20 minutes while tee time was scheduled 10 min apart. That’s the reason cart was not available. No staff helped to speed up. While good maintenance on the grass, so many trash bins full of trash and many trash and cans flying around. Ran into those trespassers who slowed the progress.
