Twin Creeks Golf Course
About
Arnold Palmer and Ed Seay designed the Golf Club at Twin Creeks (named after the two creeks that run through the course) to integrate with five strategically placed lakes that come into play. For the most part, the fairways here are generous, rolling peacefully toward large, undulating greens. Hole 11 is one of the best, a 383-yard par 4 with trees lining the fairway and a difficult green guarded by several giant pecan trees. No. 17, a 409-yarder with water on the right, requires a monster drive to carry the full body of water. The best play is to aim left even though the approach will be a bit longer. Golf Digest has rated Twin Creeks as high as 10th for the "Best Public Course" in Texas.

Easy birdie putt Photo submitted by ttaxmaster on 06/12/2014
Sand is like concrete and play is slow.
I have played this course a few times but stayed away after what happened in the spring. I gave it another shot on Saturday but it was a mistake. The play was slow because there was no marshal out there to tell the group that was three holes ahead to get moving. It was so bad that the group behind us quit after 9 holes.
Although I only landed in two of them the sand traps were hard and had more dirt than sand in them. it was impossible not to blade the ball and send it flying over the green.
If you do go out there just know that there are some issues with the course.
It was great
This course had great greens and fairways, it was worth the 24 dollars we each paid to play.
Overall fun but pace too slow
When we got to the first tee, there were two groups ahead of us. Our tee time was 8:10 and the other two groups told us their tee times were 8:00 and 8:06 ??? There was no starter. In addition, the 8:00 group was painfully slow (not very good golfers) and there were no marshals/rangers to keep them moving. The course (fairway & green) was in good condition and the course is challenging but fair. It lures you into taking risks and punishes you if you make a mistake (especially on the finishing 3 holes).
Disappointment
I have played here off and on for a while and it is just down the street from my home. However after this last time I will not be playing here again. The tee boxes were hard as rocks and the traps were also difficult to hit from. For the money you have to spend you would think they would be able to keep the course in good shape. Especially since this summer has been milder than normal. Also wish they would use a netting system down both sides of the driving range. It would be safer and less range balls would be lost.
The staff there is very nice but that is not enough to make me spend the money charged until they treat a classic Palmer design with the respect it deserves.
Average conditions, great layout, needs starter
Played this course for the first time with a friend who declares it to be one of the best in the area. Clubhouse staff only seemed interested in collecting my money. (Didn't give me any information regarding the course nor conditions.. actually took a phone call and left me standing at the counter. The greens were very inconsistent. Fairways were dry in several spots. The course layout offered a nice challenge. There was no "starter" to pair groups up.. so, 3 twosomes were ahead of us, each group playing separately. This slowed the pace of play considerably. Overall, not a bad course. I will definitely give them another try.
Great layout! Always a challenge!
I played on Labor Day, so needless to say, the pace of play was slower than normal. Otherwise, the round was great! I always enjoy playing at Twin Creek. It's a challenge from any Teebox. I'll be back
So slow we left after 9
Absolutely the slowest 9 holes I've ever played. At 3 hours to complete, I have to say it was the first time I was ever relieved to be done. Should have known something was up when there were no carts ready But the parking lot wasn't anywhere close to full. No starter or Marshall. Saw the cart girl once in 3 hours. Oh yeah did I mention 3 hours to play 9? Despite the course itself being in good condition this is the worst place in DFW to play. So much wasted potential.
Where is the hydration?
Only 2 negatives of this round: (1) The beverage cart never passed us a single time during the 5 hour round [we flagged her down once when she was on the other nine]; (2) The 5 hour round - there was a 4-some of hackers with no one in front of them for at least 2 holes, we pulled up to the tee several times when they were walking off but they made no effort to wave us through.
In summary, 5 hour round with no beverage cart and no marshal - everything else was great, particularly the clubhouse hot dog.
Not pleased
Played twin creeks today and arrived on time for a 8:45 tee time only to find 6 four domes in the tee area.
When asking the starter about the delay he was rude and obnoxious about it. It appeared there was a large group squeezed in ahead of us.
We ended up starting 30 min late and playing over a 5 hour round.
Very disappointed!
Warm Summer Day
Played this course in the heat of the Texas summer and still had a good time. The course is in excellent shape considering the weather and lack of rain. The greens were a bit slow which is necessary sometimes to prevent them from dying. There were some spots in the fairways that seemed like ground under repair but for the most part the course is well kept. It is a relatively short course so good for any level of golfer but offers some challenges as well especially on holes 16-18. Overall its a good course that I will definitely play again especially for the price point.
twin creeks
the greens here are in much better shape than others in the area.
Sand traps are real bad
Guy in pro shop was not that helpful. He had no carts when I got there, then saw me later when there were carts and said nothing.
Sand traps are just dirt and rock
Greens were good
For 16 dollars, it was a good deal
Great Layout
My first time playing. I had a great day of driving the ball (86% of fairways), so I didn't experience the rough much. However, it looked like it could be challenging. The greens were a little spongy and inconsistent, but they rolled true. Will definitely play again.
A Course that has gone down hill
I moved into this neighborhood over 15 years ago just because of the golf course. Back then it was a Palmer course and had Bent Grass Green's and was a great course. Now this course is worst then most municipal golf courses. The Allen Muni at Watters Creek is an awesome track where Twin Creeks should be bulldozed it isa shame what this course as become.
A Pleasant Golf Course
Very pleasant staff at the pro shop. Good layout and well-maintained greens. Overall this golf course is not too hard to play and gives an average player a pleasant experience. There are some water hazards around some holes too, which make them challenging for most golfers.
