Fair Test
Have played this course many times over the years and overall I have assessed it to be a fair set up of a treeline park style complemented with nuances of natural environmental marshlands.
This is a course predicated on tee shots, as the approach shots and greens are fairly straight forward, however, like all Kaneff courses; the greens tend to have movement on all putts and the speed may vary among green to green.
Value wise, I only play this course thru golfnow availability.
Good value
This is a golf course that runs a professional operation
Horrible pace of play
Terrible pace of play!!!!! Played last Saturday at 4:15, and only managed to finish 6 holes. Probably caused by the tournament, and lack of Marshall's maintaining the pace of play. Tournament participants were jumping from hole to hole , no order whatsoever and line ups at the tees varied from 4-6 foursomes at a time. Once waited 25 minutes to tee off. By 7:10 I had finished the 6th and walked back to the clubhouse. On the way back I saw a group of Marshall's playing a hole..... Never will return, and will be sure to spread the word about my terrible experience.
This course was in great shape
What started as a rainy Sunday morning turned out to be a beautiful day on the golf course - the course was in great shape. There was hardly any other golfers on the course so the pace was amazing. The staff were very friendly and accomodating. Excellent value for the price.
one of mt favourite golf courses
well kept course. friendly staff we had a good day
Carlisle pleasure
Good value for the money, if in trouble time can get out, good golf management when playing will keep your scor low
A bad experience made worse by the staff.
It didn't start well. We lost one player to a hockey injury the night before, and so had to pay for her fee. When we figured out that the course was backed up horribly, we offered to cancel our round. They told us that we'd have to pay anyway. "Golfnow policy." The round was insanely slow. The conditions were terrible due to the tough winter, but this did not explain the short holes and dull layout. Even paying a single green fee each, this course is a terrible value. AVOID.
Enjoyable round of golf
I really enjoyed my round of golf since the rains have brought out a very lush condition. The people I was paired up were decent golfers and we had an enjoyable round. Only criticism is that I discovered that all my Kaneff Reward points had disappeared and I was told if you don't use them after 2 years, you lose them. I was never told this before, but it is in the fine print when you read about the Rewards program on line. I still say unfair, and everyone should check their balance.
Manicured beauty
Beautiful challenging course for all levels. Undulating greens well tended. Courteous groundskeeping staff. What a great morning. How hard is it for golfers to fix ball marks on the greens? Did 5 a hole out of respect for a well maintained course. Just go!
Godd course...but
They need to work on the aeration of the lakes. Couple of them smell really bad
Early Morning Quick Round
Course was in great shape with no crowd. The weather was a little iffy, but there was no rain. We had the course to ourselves and played in 3 hours.
Carlisle
Challenging course for mid to average golfers. Nice layout and well groomed.
Golf now makes this affordable
Early morning tee-off is a must, unless you wish to make it a 4 plus hour round. Conditions were damp due to recent rainfall, making both rough and traps more difficult that usual. Destined to play the North and South course; however, on the turn around the South course was busy. A quick visit to the pro shop and permission granted to play the East Course (easiest) allowed us to finish in 3.5 hours. Carlisle is one of our most oft played courses in-spite of a 35 mins drive from Mississauga.
Worth the drive!
Played the South and East course for a change. Tee to green conditions were excellent. Recent rainfall increased the dimensions of some of the ponds and bunker sand was hard packed. We played lift, clean and place on the fairways. This is one of our favorite courses, but we always play it at 7am to avoid the crowds.
Weird Layout, Same Kaneff Problems
Not the greatest course in the world and of course being Kaneff the ram people out even dropping groups in between other groups on the turn. Very aggravating. There are a lot of poorly designed holes squeezed in that do not make very much sense. Over priced for what you're playing, going down the road to play DragonsFire is a much better decision.
Dragonsfire is a much superior course for less money. The best part of Carlisle are the greens. We did play in under 4 hours but that was only because we were the second T time out in the AM and they put a group out between the group that was behind us and our group so we had to play unnecessarily fast to keep to avoid log jams on the T decks. No marshals to be seen on a Holiday Monday. I would pay 40 to play here but not over 55. IMO
Another good day ...
Great round played at good speed, the only downside the number of un-repaired divot and pitch marks, but then you get that everywhere I'm afraid!
Good round for average golfers
Course was in decent shape, but priced a bit higher than it should be. Overall good experience.
Staff was greast
