Flamborough Hills Golf and Country Club - Lakes/Hills
About
Tucked away in quiet Copetown, Flamborough Hills Golf & Country Club offers 27 holes of championship golf. The club features three unique nines that are played in three different 18-hole combinations, each of which offer plenty of variety from one another. Originally opened in 1961 under the name Windsor Park, the Hills and the Woods golf courses formed the original 18-hole course at Flamborough Hills Golf & Country Club. The Lakes nine was added in 1994. When combined with the Hills nine, the two provide a challenging round with plenty of water and elevation changes. The landscape is covered with mature trees and abundant in native wildlife, giving golfers a scenic complement to their game.

Golfer Reviews
Okay.............
Our foursome played today and had a two for 1 coupon with carts for $48.50 each-seemed overpriced for the conditions.. We played the Lakes and Hills and noticed both set of greens different. Check in was good and nice carts but still too much for the round.
Great Round
We had a great round on the Hills/Woods course.
There were some dry spots but it was a drought summer so it is understandable. Greens were in good shape.
Check in was easy, the carts were clean and modern, Marshall was polite, and the bar staff were prompt. The beverage cart also came around several times and she was friendly.
I look forward to coming back.
Burned out
Surprised by how burned out the fairways were. Ball would be in the middle of the fairway and you were hitting off dirt. Guess we are spoiled in the Niagara region bc even though we also had the drought, our courses are in much better shape. Was not wirth the $53 green fee. I'm sure the course doesn't usually look in such rough shape. Wouldn't recommend this year.
Fun day out
The course fairways had dirt between grass . For that time of year I think it should be in better shape. Not worth what they normally charge but worth 50 dollars. Course layout was different . Lots of hidden flags from the tee. Enjoyed it anyway. Golf was challenging.
Today.....disappointing
Played here last year, but this morning was disappointing. We finished around 1 p.m. and never saw a refreshment cart. Went inside to buy a sandwich, but 4 kids behind the bar were too interested in talking to one another. Bring your own. If you play here frequently, you probably get familiar with the 3 blind holes on the Woods. Understanding there has been a drought this year, fairways looked like they were cut too short, so burnt and dry in many places. For the money, there are better options in better shape this year. Not sure I would return this year.
Staff need a course in customer service
Played here many times before and the staff has never been particularly friendly or adept at making you feel welcome.
The guy in the pro-shop had zero personality, you work at a golf course, at least smile and pretend you are happy to have us as a "Guest" at your facility. The starter was equally bland, no hi how are you, just dry dry dry!!! Went into the clubhouse at the turn had stuff to buy in our hands three staff members were there, but no one bothers to help us, but did serve someone else that came in after we did...We walked out, to bad you lost sales there, sorry to the cart girl that didn't get a tip, because of this.
Played lakes and woods, course was in OK condition given the dry weather, tee blocks were a little sketchy, maybe the forward tees were better, we played the back tee's, greens were in good shape, but a little slow. Course is straight forward and in reality they don't have enough land for three 9's the holes are very close together.
Thanks to some poor attitudes this course is now of our rotation. To many other choices with friendly staff that make you feel welcome.
Great course
In excellent shape. Challenging but manageable
Tale of two nines
Played the Woods and Lakes course at Flamborough Hills with a friend. The Woods was in excellent condition but the Lakes was very burned out, however, probably because it it more exposed to the sun. The greens on the newer Lakes nine are much larger, more undulating and thus more challenging than those on the Woods although all the greens were in much better condition than those on some courses that I have played this month.
Each tee has 4 teeboxes and a diagram of the hole for golfers who are not familiar with the course.
Flamborough has quiet, easily to handle electric carts and I would advise golfers to ride since many tees are considerable distances from the previous greens.
If the price were right I would definitely play there again.
Will play it again
Considering the weather you can expect some burnt patches on the fairway. Some greens seen rather small than average. But you can look at it as a challenge I suppose.
At discounted rate, it's worth it.
Flam borough Hills
We enjoyed our game. Our first time playing the course. The course is suffering with the drought conditions like everywhere. Would love to play again after we get some significant rain to help green things up.
Nice...But a bit slow
Course was in good shape....nice new electric carts....a bit slow at the turn for food, they should put a call box on 9th tee
Enjoyable Flamborough Hills
Pro shop staff were very friendly and check in was easy. I was informed range balls were included in my round, a nice bonus. The starter was very friendly and knowledgeable. We got off early . We had the front nine Hills course to ourselves and played the Woods as the second nine. The course was in great shape. Some tee boxes needed work but overall it was a great round. On some of the par 5 they could use a bell to inform those on the tee box when it is safe to hit. It is a hilly course, riding should be considered. The beverage cart came around often and was friendly. Returning the power cart I was greeted by a staff member who asked how the round was and took my cart.
Major let down
I was really looking forward to my round at flamborough and right from the start I was really disappointed. When my buddy walked into the pro shop with his sweater on the pro tells him he has to have a collar visible that can be tricky with November golf...pretty weak in my opinion. We had a 8:50 tee off and we where at the starter at 8:45 and had to wait for 3 groups that somehow where in front of us, when I asked the starter if there was a delay he said no....pretty poor. Before I booked the round I called the pro shop and asked what shape the course was in and the guy said excellent.......Greens punched half grown in bumpy, not cut fairways punched lots of plugs around....another joke. I may come back to this course but it Will Not be for the golf it will be for the food. Absolutely delicious and great service . Keep it up food and beverage your doing great.....golf service staff take notes.
Over priced!
50$ to golf in November, on freshly aerated fairways. A little over priced.
The starter was putting golfers out on the woods and the lakes at the same time. Created a ridiculous log jam when we made the turn onto lakes.
kutybs,
Thanks for taking the time to write your review. We hope that you will give us another shot next season and that the course will be in better condition when you play next time around.
Great greens
Wasn't to busy when we were there, great condition, greens were perfect
u000007956520,
Thank you for taking the time to write a review and for playing our golf course! We are glad you enjoyed the course conditions and can't wait to see you again soon!
Course Conditions are Good
Most area courses have dryed out fairways and greens that don't hold, this course is great shape.
Each hole has a new challange. I really enjoyed this course.
cap10bruce,
Thanks for your review and for playing our golf course. We work hard to make sure our course is in great condition and are glad you enjoyed it. Hope you played well!
Great Course to Golf
My party golfed under cloudy skies, but the weather was agreeable. The fairways and greens were in great shape. The only unfortunate part of the course is that there is a lot of rough between the tree lines and the fairway. I think the fairways could be a little wider to enhance the enjoyment of playing the course.
Besides that, everything was in good order.
Expected More
I heard some good reviews, but there were many blind shot holes and a 230 yard par 3 that felt totally out of place compared to the rest of the course.
I think if you play here a lot you would get to know the course and enjoy it more. It kind of fell flat of what I expected.
Great trek that is very well maintained!
The course is named appropriately! Lots of hills on all 3 nines. Quite a few blind shots into the green on par 4's and 5's.
Friendly staff and all three courses are well maintained. And it wasn't too busy so there was no waiting between shots. Great!
Only suggestion is to have GPS on the carts. The courses are championship level and the GPS would put them at par with many other courses at the same calibre.
Matthew1716893,
