Fergus Golf Club - South Nine

I was surprised on how dry the course was. I hit a few greens with hi approach shots and the ball bounced of the greens even from the centre. I was able to adjust as i went along and would aim for the front of green to keep the ball on. Other than this the course was a great play. west and east course is slightly open abut very tight fairways on the south course. I really enjoyed the layout and the course wasn't super long but you did get a chance to test your long irons on the par 5. if you are within a 45 minute driver and there has been some rain within that last couple of days i fully recommend this course to everybody.

This is the worst course and condition I never played. This is like farm grass field. The course is nothing interest to player. the guy at the dest is terrible attitude. how he can maintain his job. Fairway is not lawn, but a lot of weed and you can not find ball. never back and just waste of money . if you just want to practice hitting ball, it could be worth to pay $ 10.

I'm not a fussy golfer. I've golfed really nice to really poor courses. This course really has potential - just cut the fairways and tee boxes!! Although in fairness with the bad, wet weather we have had in May, that could have had something to do with it - the course was really squishy in spots in the middle of the fairways. Beautiful Sunday afternoon, hardly anyone on the course! My way of playing! Except with the long grass (a lot of the fairway was like the first cut of rough) golf balls were REALLY hard to spot, especially white ones in the dandelion fluff! I played 2 balls, white & yellow - spent A LOT of time searching, and lost balls right in the middle of the fairway!! South course really challenging with lots of trees and narrow chutes for driving. I would love to play this course again after it has a chance to dry out, just to see if it lives up to it's potential!

This is a nice course that is player friendly. There is not a lot of trouble and the layout has enough variety any level of golfer.

The course was in decent shape seeing how rain has been limited in this area for months,the pace of play was good but I cant see paying anymore then I did to play here

The course was in excellent shape, very well maintained. the staff were very helpful to a first time person, whereby i had time for 9 holes and with three to choose from they were very helpful. the weather was perfect. however i wouldn't recommend this course for anyone other than someone who lives close by and seeking a great value. It is quite open and not very challenging, little to no elevation or rolling hills, simply put it was a boring course. however the people, the cost and the condition of the course did help to compensate the negative.

course is great if you want to take your family or girl friend. to play. easy course lot of room to spray the ball. all the fairways are straight. do not play the south course more trees and narrow fairways.

Poor customer service staff on checkin Too expensive for a course of this low caliber

Arrived early but got to play right away. Greeted cordially and all staff was friendly. Two of us played a round in 3 hrs. Corse was in good shape. Can not wait to play again

Have played this course many times, took my wife for her first outing,

Dry fairways, which is the norm this year, Greens are usually decent but found the East holes a bit bumpy on this day.

South course is a parkland layout with lots of trees, much tougher than the open east and west tracks

Couple of holes 3 and 5 are actually a bit penal due to the proximity of trees on both sides of the tee

Bit slow but we got through in just over 4 hours, staff was friendly as always here,

I like this course for a quick nine after work and is easily walkable as well. Some decent holes and pretty much open on the north tracks. good value compared to similar GTA courses

Given the price, this is a deal but the course is not well maintained and there are few obstructions to add some difficulty and challenge

The experience got better as the day went on. The man who checked us in was a bit of a jerk acted like we were bothering him by playing at the golf course. However the starter was amazing he was friendly & full of knowledge gave us great hints . As well the gentleman at the end of the day in the clubhouse was very friendly. The south portion of this course is far more superior than East or west. This of course had nicer fairways, greens and generally a better layout. But because it is 27 holes you get what you get. The value was good enough that I would play again but I would definitely be asking for the South course.

Fairways are rough, greens are slow, mixture of grasses, very inconsistent.

played the east and south courses.east more wide open good mix of long holes ,greens bit hard with very hot weather,fairway showing heat but good roll.

south course is tight for several drives be straight or say good bye to your ball. if it gets off fairway into bush and brush its a goner

no bunkers to worry about if there are any looks like ground under repair

no water

would play again for the money saw lots walkers on west course but can't comment as have not played it

!st time I have played the Fergus golf course. Played the west - east side....not bad. The golfnow deal was the only reason I played there as it was over a half hour drive to the course.

course was dry , but greens were OK. wide open , not much trouble if you spray the ball.
