Really enjoyed this course.
Staff, conditions, and pace wonderful. Was even able to rent cart after walking front nine as found it hilly. Four hours great day.
Cut your rough
If you don’t hit the fairway goodluck finding your ball. Club up
Chedoke
Greens were good the rough was thick and hard to get out of but it’s early in the season
The course was fun to play.
Good condition, rough is thick. Slow play on weekends.
Pace of play was very slow
Coarse was in good shape
Bunkers are not in good shape
Hot dog at half way was good
This course is very pleasant
The course it’s self is beautiful. Lovely layout and makes you think about where to place your shots. How ever the ground is extremely hard. Trying to take a divot with your shot is near impossible. Which makes chunking or skulling the ball real easy. I know the aim of the game is to stay out of the rough but once you’re in there it is extremely thick. First of all it’s very hard to even locate your ball with the weeds growing there too. And secondly you will have to go up at least two clubs if you are wanting to get some distance out if there. But apart from that the course for the deal we go was hard to complain at.
Great Day
Course is challenging but fair. Rough is very long, but fairways and greens are in good shape.
Course review (Beddoe)
The fairways and greens are in the best shape I've ever seen them in, unfortunately that is likely because the course, like all others in Ontario, was/were closed for 5 weeks. The rough, however, was quite difficult because of how long the grass is. Basically, if you didn't hit your ball in to the fairway, your ball was either lost or you would be holding up the players behind you while you looked for it.
Only other suggestion: please open the washrooms (midway on Beddoe course). Lots of ladies golfing, but no washroom facilities for them.
Pretty good
Solid, would recommend. greens are decent. fairways are good.
Hidden Gem
Love this course. The course was in great shape. The only complaint I would have is that I wanted to bring the Deaf world championships to Hamilton. Being the assistant head coach of team Canada we get to pick venue. No one was willing to return My call.
I wanted to show some love to were I started my career in golf but unfortunately no return phone call.
The civic courses are truly beautiful and it would of been nice to at least heard back from GM.
Keep you the great work maintenance staff as the course was in great shape especially this time of year.
Great layout. Quite scenic and very colorful this time of the year
We played on October 27th.
The tee boxes were very beaten up and mostly all in modified, forward positions.
The fairways were untidy and extremely wet and muddy in places. The ground staff did a great job at blowing the leaves off of them.
The greens were in very nice condition considering it is a public track and most players don't repair their divots.
I am perplexed as to why Kings Forest, a fellow City run course is in such fine condition and Chedoke looks looks very tired.
Does Kings Forest command a bigger budget?
We played Beddoe and really liked the layout.
With proper funding and a lot of TLC this could be an excellent facility.
We had a very enjoyable experience.
The 19th hole is very cool with very attentive, friendly service. I can imagine all the great stories that have been shared there! over many years.
A super Stanley Thompson design.
We will definitely be back for a summer visit to see the course in its full glory.
