great day on a great course
challenging course, cart is a must , first time playing the course will be back for sure ......
Disappointing
We hadn't played this course in quite a while. Driving the fairways with a cart made you wish you had a kidney belt.. Cart paths in places also terrible. Tee blocks were badly beat up. Basically not grass on some. Disappointing to say the least. Last time for me.
WOW so disappointed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I was a member here from 1977-1985 playing over 100 rounds per year and played a few times a year after that until 1999. The course has declined substantially in the last 20 years. In my opinion the city no longer takes any pride in this facility. The greens were very good, the fairways good, the rough and surrounding areas are unkempt and full of weeds. The tee blocks were awful. I was looking forward to playing this game and will never go back. I'm so sad to see a place I loved as a junior player get run down to this. Shame on you city of Hamilton!!
Problem with Marshall calling idiots
We arrived at the first tee off at 9:45 am. We thought we were following the right way in our cart according to the signs but went the wrong way and the Marshal started asking us what we were doing. He said very plainly " Your not suppose to drive up there ..... idiots " .. I called him out on what he called us .. I and my wife were not impressed by being called idiots.. He never apologized. He was not at the area when we arrived as he was talking to other people. The Marshals should be told how to talk to your customers properly..
Great course municipal or not
Well maintained. Good pace. Challenging enough for any level golfer.
Always well maintained
Now that the grounds crew have recovered from the really wet spring the course is in great shape. The greens and fairways are as good as courses that you would pay triple the price for. Can’t be the Beddoe for the price.
Course Condition
Played this course for the first time 45 years ago, i get the fact that due to the amount of rain we could not take out a cart no issue, but the length of the grass, the amount of grass cuttings on the fairway was a joke, if you were 5 yards off the fairway your ball was lost, unacceptable , we should have been warned/notified by staff and we NEVER , even with the Golf Now rate , should have been charged the rate we were charged they should have been giving it away, waste of a round waste of good money, so disappointed!
Too Wet To Be Open
The golf course was way to wet to be open and in my opinion, unplayable as are most area courses with the weather we've had. Normally it's a fun course to play with good greens and decent conditions. I'll come back in a week or so and I'm sure it will be much better. It's been a brutal spring!
Good course bad condition
This course is in bad spring conditions. Fairways are like roughs. Plenty of wasted shots due to conditions as well as unnecessary lost balls.
Dont play until June
Course has been so wet they have not been able to cut it properly. Save your money and dont play for a few more weeks. There are plenty of other courses in tlhe area that are in good shape.
Course conditions
Terrible conditions all around ! No carts and totally understand due to wetness but charging people for push carts is absurd! Fairways were mug baths and rough is almost impossible to find ball. Needs to be fixed ASAP
