Always a great day out
My only rating that was not excellent was the course condition. Through no fault of their own but due to crazy amounts of rain in our area the course was soaked and carts could not be used. The rest of the course was amazing and meticulously cared for. Walking up that 15th hole hill sometimes referred to as Heart attack hill will get your pulse rate up. Great course!
Decent course incredibly slow rate of play.
Course was decently maintained however there are no distance markers in the fairway.
Also the rate of play was incredibly slow. Had a 3-foursome backup. Didn't see a marshal once.
We ended up getting a rain check after 9 holes as the rate of play was horrible.
not ready yet
the course condition is poor.they need to do a lot of clean-up after our recent rainy weather to put it in enjoyable playing condition
Good Value
It's still "early" in the season so the course wasn't in the best shape (bunkers were unplayable), but for a municipal golf course it's pretty well taken care of. The staff are nice and friendly, the girl working the main club house is a little new to serving so she is dealing with some learning curves but she's young, she will get better. Nice thing about this course is that if you're play gets suspended at anytime during your round and you can't finish you can redeem a whole round for free, as long as you have the receipt.
The course layout is ok, couple blind holes that make your second shot a head scratcher but it's not a difficult course. The greens are pretty slow at the moment too.
I would recommend playing here if you're just looking to get in a round or two. Don't expect anything above and beyond but expect a decent day of golf.
Chedoke Beddoe
We arrived early .. no carts available due to soft wet conditions.. first time I have walked a course carrying my bag in a long time... the experience was awesome and I was able to focus on my ball only ... throughout the round
We lucked out with beautiful sunshine and warm temps
Chedoke was in great shape with lush green grass.. especially early in the season.. we were a twosome and sailed through in 4 hrs
Would recommend playing this course
Great late season round!
The course was in good shape, always nice to be along the Niagara Escarpment in Fall!
Bedoe course
Enjoyed the round very much. Of course scoring well helped! LOL Nice course will return.
Typical muni course
I wanted to play this course because I have driven on 403 forever. There is one hole uphill that you see from the hwy. that has always intrigued me as it goes right up the mtn. Also from the speedy hwy. the course looks great.
But that is where it stops, the fairways were rock hard and bumpy, needed to be in first cut to have any chance at a bump from an iron. The greens chewed up, no marshalls and so you saw metal cleats all over the place, the kind where people drag their feet.
City course, 90% walkers, poor pace, should have finished 90 minutes sooner. Took 1 1/2 hrs tp play.
All of this means nothing, it is a public course and nothing will change so ask yourself why you would play here.
When I drive by, I can now say I played that hole, shoot did not get a birdie that would have been nice.
This Civic still has it!
Well, I used to be a member at this track well over 2 decades ago and it looks pretty much the same. There are some new traps here and there, but, this is an old place. That being said it has a great "old" course feel. Big trees, interesting terrain, a wee shortish and historical by todays design standards. The deal that we acquired from GOLFNOW was ridiculously good and made our decision a no brainer. The turn house is just ok. Hot dogs and bad beer are the order of the day and that really needs to change! We have a quality brewery in the city and they need to be represented! Time for the city to provide some decent wares in the pro shop as well. Looking forward to my next round here!!!
Better than the martin
Great little civic course open to public
TaKes advantage of the hills for elevated tees and greens
Lots of fun to play
Well kept for a public course
Fun to Play
The course was in really good shape, greens were consistent. We rode which was a good idea, the course has a lot of ups and downs. Will play again some time next year.
A challenging course . Pace of play was frustrating 4 1/2 hrs
challenging course pace of play was slow 4 1/2 hrs
Fairways & greens in good shape
Great condition
This was my first time playing this course this year and with the lack of rain we had this summer this course is in excellent shape. Food at the turn was also very good.
challenging for average golfers
nice layout and challenging enough for average golfers.
Great course
This is an interesting golf course. A bit difficult to walk. The starter was very unplesant and too forceful. The course was overbooked, the pace was really slow...more than 5 hours to play and had to wait 5 minutes at every hole. The course is challenging. Greens were being aerated so bumpy when putting. Would go back again but not on a weekend.
I miss this course...
I didn't expect this course to be so challenging. I always considered Chedoke to be a beginner's type of course. The Beddoe course played longer than I remembered, and it was quite challenging. I would go back in an instant. Very much enjoyed it.
Well worth it.
A very good course with a lot of different looks, keeping things interesting.
