Price is right
Good price. They have to get some signs up for people who are not familiar with the golf course.
Afterwards drove about 10 minutes to Hungry Dude at 1831 main st west. Golf and burgers, worth the drive to Hamilton.
golfing
fast play . i like the grass cut low in the rough so im not looking for ball all the time. staff very helpfull. price of golf is getting way too high. im cutting back on how often i play no need for these prices
Martin course @ Chedoke in Hamilton
Great golf course but sadly NO amenities!
The restaurant was closed so no refreshments available at the course or on the course- no on course refreshment wagon.
Martin Course
I found this to be a very unfriendly senior men and ladies course. With only two tee blocks with very little difference in length it was a very long round of golf. There was way too much clover on fairways and rough. It is not a course I would recommend or return to.
Bunkers
For the first time in years the bunkers actually have sand. Now if only people would learn how to rake. Two stiff uphill holes on first nine.
Unnecessary 5 hour round.
The grass is so thick that even 2-3 inches off the fair way is a lost ball. No staff anywhere on the course to speed up play.
Poor pace of play
It seems that anyone can just walk on and play as a single or twosome and hold up everyone. What do you expect for a municipal course I guess. No rules. No food at the halfway house. Sub par.
Obvious improvements needed
The course itself is a lovely location tucked below the escarpment, but not well maintained. Cart paths are few and far between and in bad shape. The rough hadn't been cut, long grass with dandelion weeds throughout. Players were losing balls constantly. This course has great potential but sadly there's not much effort put into it. The restaurant and patio on site are in horrible shape and I know people move to a different location for after golf dining. Sad because it sits among so much natural beauty of the escarpment and two courses. Many people from outside of Hamilton visit the area. Hikers, cyclists, and waterfall seekers etc. Missed opportunity here for sure!!
First cut was way too long! I hit some good shots but couldn’t find my ball
Restaurant was closed so couldn’t get something to eat or drink including beer or anything else!! They should post things like this so people can prepare
