Cow Pasture
I believe it looks like they’re ready to close the course for good. No maintenance whatsoever. Fairways weren’t cut. The rough was ridiculous.
Never again.
Rough Shape!
Wow I've played here a multitude of times and I've never ever seen it in this bad of shape. The rough is so high and covered with brown cut grass that you can't find your ball. We played a 5 hour round due to looking for balls all day. It soooo bad. It looks like a cow pasture with weeds everywhere.
I'd find it very difficult to pay $60 to play and ride. Sorry Golf North but you've let this one slide bad.

Friendly staff, coarse was in great condition. Only knock was that we had to walk. Other than that would definitely recommend this coarse.
great experience
Played this course 2 or 3 times and have been thoroughly impressed. Recently played Nov 2017 and the course was still in great shape. Overall great course for any skill level. After the first 4 holes you can put your driver away for a few holes. Not long holes but could challenge the best of golfers with course layout making course management a huge part of making a good score. Green conditions are great but break much less than expected. Worth checking out this course ad intriguing to play again once you learn the course.
Needs maintenance
I had played this course about six years ago and was very disappointed with the condition. The fairways we hard as a rock and the rough was very long. In fact we had a hard time even finding a ball when it was three feet off the fairways.
Disappointed
SW has the potential of being a very good course but in its present condition I found it to be very poor.
Although the course was very crowded there was no marshal in sight. After playing as a single and waiting on every shot for a twosome ahead of me, I invited myself to play through on# 11. I then played the last six holes with a threesome and had to wait on most shots especially on two par threes where the group in front of us frequently took mulligans. Consequently, it was over a 5 hour round, the longest round for me this season.
Most of the tees were very chewed up which made it difficult to find a suitable spot to tee up. Besides, the tees were rock hard. The greens were very inconsistent and many had bald spots. I can' t comment on the condition of the few bunkers since I was never in one.
The carts were very dusty and I had to use the choke for most of the round. The yardage markers beside the tees had no map of the hole and on many holes there was a creek in the tee shot landing area but there was no indication of the distance from the tee to the creek.
Despite the above, SW is truly a scenic layout with a good mix of challenging and gettable holes. Alas, the course conditions and the pace of play left me wondering if I would ever return. What a pity.
Terrible
Described by members as Mystics ugly little brother gives one an idea of what to expect.
Pasture land with terrible greens.. never again.
Scenic NOT in the Woods...
Played on Sumday the 10th, course was in pretty good shape, greens were rolling nicely. Pace of play was good, considering they were sending out groups of 2. Would definitely go back. Oh, and there was no cart out...
Scenic Woods
The course was in rough shape. The second cut off of the fairways was exceptionally long and extremely difficult to work with. The pace of play was extremely slow. That is, it took 4 1/2 hours to get through this course and much of that time was spent looking for balls in the second cut. The tee blocks also need a great deal of work. I golfed there twice in the past two weeks and both times the power cart that I had stalled continuously and at times needed to be pushed. The staff are very friendly and the clubhouse appears clean. I would only recommend this course if they offered it had a very very reasonable price. Otherwise, I think more time and attention needs to be spent on the fairways and tee blocks.
Fun day
Joined up with a few members. All good people.very enjoyable day. This course has always had water issues but despite that pretty good shape.
Nice course friendly staff
I haven't played Secic woods for a few years and except for the painfully slow play I really enjoyed my round there. Nice people good layout but beer was a little pricey
starter
Being paired up is sometimes a necessity. We were booked as a 3 threesome. Starter grouped us with a single guy. We prefer to play in our own group. But accepted the starters decision but we were not happy to see a group of 3 and then a group of 2 ahead of us... When I asked the starter why he didn't put the single with the 2some ahead of us he said. "the 2 some are playing for Money" They don't want to be paired up."...................... pretty lame
