Extremely let down.
Not my first time playing this course. Last year in june/july the course had phenomenal conditions with the landscape meticulously cared for. This last round had weeds littered across the fairways and 1st cut. It almost seemed like it hadn't been cut in 2-3 weeks.
Getting to the pro shop the representative had us under a different start time than what was booked.
If conditions do not improve, i wouldn't come back to play.
Bad condition right now
Hate to write this because this is one of my favourite courses, but right now in terrible condition. Weeds growing in the bunkers, watering system is being fixed or replaced, so the fairways are all dug up. Greens were rough and bumpy. But no mention of any of this, and prices are up this year. We had a hot deal, and I still thought it was too much money for the current conditions. Hopefully things turn back around soon, or we won't be back at these prices.
The seems as if the course has been abandoned
I golf at a wide spectrum of courses. I can appreciate a day out on almost any course, but this was a bad experience. The entire property has not been cut for days, so it is difficult to determine where fairways and greens are start and end. Dandelions have overtaken the property, including all the bunkers and tee boxes. Holes dug out to expose junction points of the irrigation system dot almost every fairway like minefields. (Perhaps they are in the midst of a big renovation?) The greens were slow and inconsistent, with bald spots. Hitting balls from the fairways was like hitting from the 1st cut of rough at other courses. If you missed the fairway or greens by 5 yards, you will probably not find your ball. All of this would have been acceptable to me, if the course told us about the conditions/situation before we booked/paid green fees, but we were sent out without a word of warning.
Save your money : Sad
I used to play this course a lot in prior years
First time this year……The course has gone to the dumps Grass not cut. Weeds everywhere
Tee boxes were either too furry or no grass at all
Let’s just say very disappointing
They charged Full rate for this. Last time playing there
Beware of hole #11
While this is one of the most underrated and best layouts in the area…beware of hole #11- the toughest par 3 you’ll likely ever play in your life!!
October review
First time playing this course, booked it on GolfNow twilight rate. Overall I had a good time. Course is challenging, long par 4’s. Great greens right now. Nice scenery; can’t believe it’s only trafalgar, feels like the greenbelts! Being October with recent rain; I can’t expect the course to be in amazing conditions. The fairways were wet. Often I would lose shots on the fairway because they sunk into the ground, no fault of theirs - just wanted to be honest with my experience. Would come back next summer in warmer/drier conditions.
Pace of Play
If you are going to send out teams at 10 minute intervals the least you can do is send out a Marshal to make sure teams are moving at an appropriate pace. Lucky the weather turned bad and one team in front of us quit and we passed the another team that was 2 holes behind the previous players.
Hard to say
We arrived and was informed the back nine was closed and we could play the front 9 twice. While we did play it twice as my first time I would have liked to see the entire course. I understand things happen but would have appreciated a call in advance with a chance to reschedule.
