About
Situated in the center of Kawarthas on the northern shore of Rice Lake, Bellmere Winds Golf Club offers scenic views of the water from every hole. This 18-hole golf course features plenty of elevation changes and a few doglegs added in for more challenges. The topography causes a few uneven lies, it also makes the golf course very difficult to walk, and there are also natural ditches around the narrow fairways that can be treacherous to any errant shots. All of the par 3s have a pond and there are strategically placed sand bunkers throughout. Bellmere Winds Golf Club is conveniently located only 25 minutes from Peterborough.

Great views
The course is in great shape and challenging. Well though out allowing for great views of the lake. Great staff and once the club house is built it will have everything.
Beautiful views
Amazing views and a tough course. Very well planned out. Very very VERY slow play. (Might have just been a slow group in front of us.) Lots of fun to play, much different from the flatter courses in the area.
Very Challenging course
The course was very challenging. Some fairways were a bit narrow so shot placement was very important. The greens were in great shape and ran true. I would definitely play there again.
Bellmere Winds
This a challenging course and there is very little forgiveness should you go into the rough.
What on earth
I will never return. Honestly, three groups were playing without their shirts. At one point a group of two randomly appeared in front of us and held us up all day. Groups were playing whichever holes they wanted. And better yet there were plywood cart paths aka plywood boards laid on the fairway over top of mud patches. I want my money back and will never recommend this course. Truly felt robbed.
Day at Bellmere Winds
This hidden gem is a little off the beaten path but well worth the trip. My first impression on arrival, looking at the pro shop and other buildings, was of a temporary facility not looking to entice golfers. However, looking down at the course and Rice Lake from the deck quickly changed that impression.
Our day was overcast and raining to start. The course was wet and had just been aerated (we knew this at time of booking). I was pleasantly surprised at how well the course stood up to the conditions. The fairways and greens were very playable, but the rough was quite penal. And on most holes the views are spectacular.
There is a good mix of par 3's and 5's. The par 3's require your full attention with water to gobble up errant shots. The par 5's are reachable and reward good play with eagle and birdie opportunities. The top 3 handicap holes will challenge golfers of all abilities.
Off course amenities could be improved, but if you are looking for a dog and a beer after your round you are in luck. I would encourage golfers to add this course to your must play list, you will enjoy and want to come back!
Great course/exceptional views
I always enjoy playing Bellemere
Lost a few balls in the thick rough. Keeping it in the fairway on the front 9 is critical.
Greens were rolling great
Surprised at how dry the course was considering how much rain we have had.
Will always come back worth the drive.
Great Course with beautiful views.
This was a great day. Course was in great condition for the price we paid. The staff was nice and friendly. I found the front much more tough then the back but we had a great day.
What a view.
A must see in the fall. The best of what Ontario has to offer as far as scenery. The lake and trees are so pretty it is difficult to concentrate on golf, well not really but it is pretty!!
Scenic Course by Rice Lake
I have played this course before when visiting Ontario and found the elevation changes and scenery make for an enjoyable round. There had been recent maintenance done on the greens this time but this was offset by the reasonable rate. The staff were very friendly and helpful.
Aeration
The greens were covered with sand which made putting very dicey. Also I hit a ball in the centre of the fairway on hole 1 and lost it which seems ridiculously unfair.
Great course
Course in great shape, played other courses that cost more money, and one for less money, they were in poor condition.

best in the Peterborough area. That's if you like rolling hills and snapshot views of Rice Lake from evey hole.
Amazing course with amazing views
Enjoy a wonderful round with amazing views of the Rice Lake Valley. With the course situated on the side of a hill, you get to enjoy playing a course with lots of elevation changes, receptive, but challenging greens, all while being able to look out at the lake views at almost every hole.

Amazing golf course that you can see the lake from start to finish!
Bellmere is one of the finest courses in Peterborough area. From your first tee shot up to the last putt on hole #18, you will be amazed how beautiful piece of land to create this magnificent golf course on top of the rolling terrain.
Golf by the lake
This was not my first time there, and I had brought a friend from Ottawa to play his first round there. We came by boat and were picked up at the boat dock promptly when we arrived. The course is an amazing layout with rice lake visible from most holes.
I would definitely recommend this course and have already booked a foursome tomorrow.
