Terrible tees Photo submitted by JSP2118 on 08/25/2019
Cardinal east wing
Gold course was in great condition. However, that is the only positive thing I have to say. To start with, we were rushed off the first tee deck by the starter, asking us to go while the group a head of us was still too close, there was no reason for this, as us being a 2 some and the group in front being a 4, we knew we would be waiting on them. Pace of play was extremely slow. Having to wait 5-10 minutes on each tee deck. The cart gps/screen would constantly beep, telling us things like to not touch the pin, or that pace of play was too slow. This beeping was extremely annoying and we could not turn it off. We were told a second cart would be an extra $44, and the divider installed on the cart was not, in my opinion sufficient to keep us separated as per covid 19 rules. To top it off, it was a rather hot day out, and we only saw the beverage cart once, on hole 4, finally on 15 we called into the pro shop, took 2 try’s to get a hold of them, to ask if the beverage cart could come out. Then we saw her on 16.
We played a twilight round. The starter wasn’t around when we teed off, so there was about four groups just going one after the other.
I’m not sure if guys were teeing off at the right time, but it would’ve been nice to have someone there to organize things.
Other than that. Round was great. Course was great.
Horrible
Horrible day on the course, the pace of play was horrendous the greens were all chopped up, the carts beep every second with ads which drove me crazy. Would not recommend
Great course and value
Good condition, carts have reliable gps, greens are big enough and flat. Great time
Great course
Played the East if you can score well in the front the back is a breeze.
Friday Morning golf...
Other courses I have played post Covid-19 have tee times on 12 minute variables. Here was 10. It was crowded though pace of play was fine. With Covid, there was no water on the course for obvious reasons but with 29 degree heat you need beverage carts on the course and the foursome I was in didn't see on till the 17th tee and it was 400+ yards and 3-4 holes over. not good. You need to do better than this.
This course is set up for high volume golf traffic
Cardinal has a reputation as a tournament, social event type course. The East Wing is older, original and quite mature. It is a decent design and conditions were good. The course has certainly out priced itself during Covid 19. Demand is high under the circumstances so the course is charging about $25 per player more than normal.
