Eagles Nest Golf Club
About
Eagles Nest Golf Club sprawls across a rugged landscape of sand dunes and dense fescue that was formerly a sand and gravel quarry. The terrain is the ideal setting for a scenic, challenging round. The golf course's layout is a unique links design by Canada's top course architect, Doug Carrick, who incorporated slick, fast greens and meticulously manicured fairways. Golfers face many precarious challenges including sod wall bunkers, vast waste areas, and prevailing winds. Eagles Nest Golf Club offers panoramic views of downtown Toronto, especially on the par-3 8th hole. One of the most notably difficult holes is the par-5 17th, which features a split fairway, water, fescue, and a desert-like waste bunker.

Eagles Nest
First off this is beautiful scenic and challenging course so that's great. But lots to improve upon, course condition was poor for the price. Greens are in bad shape. We paid 205$ per player and there wasn't even a beer cart present, apparently she didn't show up for work, which is understandable but why wouldn't we be warned about this when we checked in?? The snack shack at the turn was great so that made the experience better. Pace of play was awful, we were backed up from the first Tee and had a wait on every shot all day, didn't see a Marshall.
Overall, we played wooden stix last week and would highly recommend that for the same price, much much better condition
Course needs to disclose hole 8 is closed.
The course layout is great, the view of TO fantastic, and in good shape for the llate summer. But the 8th hole is closed - it’s a pretty good hole and a big miss. And splitting 17 into a par 3 and a short par 4 spoiled that hole as well. It should have been disclosed or been more upfront. See TPC.
For the occasional visitor, that took much of the pleasure out of the day.
Group in front was playing from 3 tee boxes and held us up at every hole. No on course Marshall . Awful
Horrible value
This course is probably the worst valued course in Ontario. The pace of play is extremely slow, the service on the course is sub-par, the food is atrocious and there are no rangers to speed people up. I would suggest you choose another course because this is not worth the $205 ticket price.
Course under construction. No hole 18. 17A and 17B.
Definitely not worth the money. There was no hole 18. They made you play a 17a and 17b. You’re basically teeing off from a fairway. Would never had paid $240 if I knew this.
Nice course for casual golfers
Course is beautiful, amenities are plentiful. No starter and wait times were back logged from hole 1 and did not get better. Did not play a single hole besides par 3’s without waiting on tee box and again in fairway (or rough). To my bewilderment they did not have any marshals and did nothing to enhance pace of play. Groups in front of us were leaving multiple large divots in green and not raking bunkers. Every bunker shot ended up in foot prints, which if you’ve played this course you realize are already difficult enough to begin with.
Hole 8 was under construction so we had to drive through it and they turned hole 17 into a par 3 with modified green cut into fairway and then a short par 4 instead of a beautiful par 5. Disappointing for a place called eagles nest
Overall it’s a cool course to see, and the amenities are solid. But there is much better value in GTA for the serious golfers out there.
Note pace of play was 5hrs 20 mins on a 30 degree sunny day
Eagles Nest
Decided to gather a group of my friends to play on my birthday. Wish Golfnow had some sort of indication that one of the holes on the course was under repair. This should have been explicit as the large majority of us didn't expect to be missing out on a hole and having to play on a makeshift hole with carpet as a green. I know the course is pretty fantastic at its peak, but was really disappointed that we weren't warned about the hole being repaired beforehand unless I missed something.
Low value for money
With the golfnow site I paid $660CAD for our round with carts. Was looking forward to it as it had a great reputation. The clubhouse and view of the clubhouse is the only thing I can rave about. The tee boxes and putting areas had tons of ant holes and goose droppings. I guess they could say it was because of covid and no maintenance but there were a ton of staff sitting around idly near the clubhouse. The noise from nearby highways was brutal and you see commercial buildings (McDonalds, Rona) from about 15 of the holes. Feels like a course in the middle of the city. Can’t say much in the way of positive feedback. Though a wedding there may be nice…?
Great coarse, one of the holes are being worked and another Par 5 split up to make up the one that’s being worked on.. I’m so coming back to see what they have done to the holes
