Fun Scenic Course
Three of us senior ladies played this course on a beautiful sunny fall day. it was in great shape. It has challenges but not hard enough to keep us away from playing here again. There are 2 18 hole courses. We played the Ruby. Looking forward to playing the other one. It is very walkable for those that like walking.
Fabulous Day at Granite Ridge Cobalt!
My first time to Granite Ridge and from start to finish the day was fabulous! The staff and service was superb, the food was excellent out on the beautiful patio setting, and the course itself was in fantastic condition with gorgeous scenery along the way! A perfect day at an absolutely wonderful golf course!
I will definitely be golfing there again,
Sheila
Yup!
I give this course my two thumbs up! Simply because of how well-groomed, maintained, and beautiful it was. We even came across a staff at one of the holes on the back nine who was sweeping up broken tees around the box.
Strong winds posed a significant challenge, especially on the holes that were 300+ out. Although many holes were high in yardage, overall course allowed for great recovery.
This may be a small thing, but I appreciate that every hole provided a map/overview (presented on a stone). I've found that many, even reputable courses sometimes don't have this small luxury. It's very accommodating rather than having to refer to the card at each hole.
great beginners champion course
the ruby course is a great championship course for the beginer to average golfer. it offers forgiving fairways and you will not have a problem finding any wayward shot. there is plenty of water to get you into trouble so plan your shots. The downside is that the greens were slow and were not rolling true. the balls were often hoping across the greens. the slopes on the greens can make for some tricky reads, but only play half the break you see.
the biggest drawback on this course is that they have no driving range. there is one before the club and that's it. they do have a small practice green that allows short chipping. a hitting net is there for warming up, bu that's it.
Very Underrated
One of the most underrated courses in the GTA in my opinion; in excellent shape for the amount of play it sees. Good challenge from the blues 6,500 yards with 12 par 4's. Holes 5 through 7 can wreck your card in a hurry! Slopes and undulations on the greens can lead to some tough hole locations; I got a great deal through GolfNow with a cart but the course can also be walked without too much difficulty.
One of my favorite courses; hope to play a couple of more times before year end.
Great facility
Great Course for the money!! Staff is amazing led my their Director of Golf Jeff Czuba, easy to deal with and really wants your experience to be top notch. Course was in solid shape, and even though it is a slightly shorter track, the greens make up for it - birdies can be tough to come by!!!
Nice day out
The course was a bit wet due to the heavy rain and the started took care to delay play due to the frost.
All of the course is in really good shape and well maintained.
The pin placement and bunkers tested you when approaching the green.
The rough was just the right length.
There was a few challenges with the raised greens and dog legs that made it good.
The only downside was that the kitchen was closed due to a tournament which limited the menu and the choices were not healthy. We could have been forewarned so we could pack a lunch.
The course was the perfect length and challenge for my intermediate skill level.
I will play again.
Great course! Hope to play again soon
Had an early morning tee time and fairways were still rather damp on a cool September morning.
Challenging course for a beginner/intermediate, but allows for recovery on most holes. Played the blues on Cobalt with some regulars and managed to hold my own.
Course is well marked and easy to navigate.
Great value through a hot deal on GolfNow
Great course, friendly people
This was my first time playing at Granite Ridge, but it hopefully won't be my last. It is a very well maintained course (no divots or broken/discarded tees on the tee boxes), fairways are beautiful, etc. I'm a beginner golfer and found this course somewhat challenging, but really fun. I (only) lost 4 balls. I played on a Thursday morning; there was a senior's league that was playing, and it kind of backed us up a bit (at a few holes, there were several groups waiting to hit). I think the Marshals tried to move it along, but they weren't very successful. At the very least, they kept us in the loop about it. Some people weren't happy about the delays, but how upset can you be when you're golfing on a beautiful, weekday morning?
This course is close to home.
Good challenging course. Very forgiving on most holes. Greens are air rated making it very difficult to putt.
Good course
Course is in great shape, unlike my golf game.
We saved a lot of money through the app, don't think I'd ever pay full price to play here.
Beer/drinks are way to expensive.
great day at the ridge
I love the fact that no one was on the course when we playedthe course was in great shape staff was friendly and the price on golf now was the right price I would recommend it highly
Green is not good.
I couldn't see the starter so I decided to play at Ruby course as a single player. I didn't know that the green is already punched and the club already put some sand on it so it was not fun since the putting was very difficult. I'm not sure if Cobalt course is in the same condition but I'm not going to play this course this year.
The Course was great
I enjoyed the course very much. Course was in great shape. What myself and the other parties in my group were disappointed in was the refreshment cart service. In 18 holes we saw them once, we attempted wave them down a few times, and they ignored us and kept driving. Other than that we enjoyed or play on your course.
A Gem of a Golf Course- Colbalt
We played the Colbalt course... not knowing in advance that the greens were irrigated a few days earlier.
That in mind the greens played good... and the course as in excellent condition.
Don't understand earlier review about staff and course marshal... untrue. Staff was great and the course marshal ( women ) found my partners ball that he gave up looking for... returned it with a smile.
Looking forward to my next visit.
This isn't a long course... I used my 3 wood most of the time... perhaps drive twice.
But it's based on your skill... what a Gem of a Course
Awesome!
I loved play Granite Ridge Ruby course.
Also Cobalt too.
After early this season, I couldn't get the chance to play there, but I missed to play and finally I did.
Everything was excellent.
Quick Round
With carts, our round took just under 3 1/2 hours. Course was in very good condition. No complaints.
This course needs marshal
The conditions are fine , but the golfers playing near us, especially on the back nine were completely devoid of etiquette!!!
The foursome behind us hit their balls into us on more than one occasion almost hitting us. Other golfers who hit their balls into our fairway would just walk on our fairway without consideration for the person teeing off.
It was a melee of rude golfers and no one to keep them in line. I won't play this course again unless they hire a marshal.
Sincerely,
Bob S
The marshall was extremely rude to us all day long.
Although the golf course itself is decent, I have never in all my years of golfing dealt with such a rude and inappropriate course marshall. She was giving our group an extremely difficult time for no apparent reason. It was mostly her tone of voice and approach that was mostly inappropriate. Likely my last round of golf at this course. There are many others that treat their paying customers with much more respect.
Good Staff, ready to help you.
Course is in good condition. Staff is very friendly.
Some of the holes are challenging. Overall very satisfied.
