Turtle Creek Golf
About
Laid across rolling countryside atop the Niagara Escarpment, Turtle Creek Golf uses the natural undulations of the landscape to its full advantage. The hilly terrain combined with the rocky outcroppings scattered throughout add to the scenic nature of the golf course. The elevation of the terrain shifts between subtle and dramatic. For the most part, the layout is wide open but there are some trees to be wary of as well as some rough areas. Water plays a prominent role on the course, coming into play on 12 of the 18 holes. Turtle Creek's idyllic charm flows from the course to the clubhouse, which incorporates a stone building from 1835.

Challenging course
We had a great time golfing at Turtle Creek .
There are a few holes that you have to make blind shots which are much easier after having played it a couple of times . Aim for the top of the hill on 13 or you will be surprised if you hit it too long .
Cheers and keep them straight .
difficult for a long player
Great value for the money. Overall though, if you hit the ball even half decently far leave the driver at home. The back tees seem to be an after thought, many tee shots were completely blind. Great place to work on the short game.
Short Game Challenge!!
Interesting course! There are 6 par 3's and, from the red tees, I often felt that I could throw the ball farther!! My sand wedge (56) never had so much action!! The yardage on the score card was not always accurate, and there are several "blind" ( uphill fairways!!) holes which made it difficult to pick a target to hit to!! I think the next time I'll play from the whites. Overall a very interesting course! One negative... The cart paths need better directions!
Head to Turtle
At $65 including cart...it's nearly a steal for a course this beautiful and challenging.
Poor Experience
The first disappointment was the cart did not have a full charge and had to be exchanged prior to teeing off unacceptable for how early in the day it was. The course does have some very beautiful challenging holes, but the slow pace of play that shouldn't be a concern if they had marshals employed ruined the round. As a side note the course has numerous holes side by side so you have to be looking out for incoming balls.
Fun outing
The front 9 is really a lot of fun, holes are short but layout makes for interesting shot decisions.
Back box location makes it a pain on some of the holes as you have to walk back, so being lazy we played from white, almost every hole is reachable from the whites.
We took advantage of the red hot deals which made this a great outing as my son is a beginner. We took a nice drive through the Halton hills to get to course. Back nine felt hoggey and set up on 10 and 11, with a little bit of work can match Carolina golf. It is a real pain to hit good drives down the middle and then not be able to find ball.
But for the money a great place to practice.
Small tricky greens...many tight fairways
Nice course but the grees are small and all shaped like a turtles back.......falls away on all sides. Hit to the middle of the green makes putting possible. Many fairways have a severe slope making the iron play more difficult. Interesting layout.
Short but Tight
I booked this course because I had never played it before and wanted to try it. We were a little concerned by the length at around 5700 from the back tees. We found that length is not the issue at Turtle Creek. You will get to play most of the clubs in the bag. Driver is not necessary until the back nine. On the back you will need to carry over 200 yards on three holes. Very intimidating tee shots. Love the 13th hole, par five. Need to hit over 200 yards to clear the hazard and almost 240 to reach the raised fairway. Although a good tee shot will set up a chance to go for it in two, I would think twice. The fairway and green are a peninsula from 120 yards in, with the widest part of the fairway being only 12 yards.
Greens are tiny, with a lot of undulation. Stay below the hole. Playing for position is the key to this course. Also, stay below the hole as much as possible.
All the holes are very unique and challenging. I would highly recommend playing this course. I very fun track.
Fun course to play
Course wintered very well. No dead spots anywhere.
Extremely challenging greens sloped from back to front and quite small. Course is not long but has some tight driving holes with carry from the back tees. All in all, it's quite the challenge. Staff super friendly.
Ball Stealer Course
The money you save getting a deal from golfnow you will make up for in the number of balls you lose. The course is filled with bushes and grasses and water that you will never retrieve your balls from. Though the course looked beautiful, the holes were very close together ( constantly fearing you may hit people on other holes) very narrow with little room for error. A couple holes you are also shooting entirely blindly over a hill that you cannot even see the fairway let alone where to be shooting your ball. The staff on the other hand were extremely friendly. The carts were all brand new and had club cleaners on the side which was an added touch. It was a fun time but I wouldn't play there again.
Hot deal worth taking
First time at course, very interesting layout. A few holes meant to challenge you, not to enjoy, but to endure. The next time we play it, we'll be wise to it's secrets, but the first time out; even the course guide doesn't really help you figure out where you're going.
But the people were great; very friendly, happy, helpful. Conditions were very good, greens were fast on a sunny afternoon.
turtle creek
course and staff are awesome.
pace of play was 5.15hrs cart to cart..
was a bit slower than preferred, but will deffo return and play again
New course getting better each year maturing nicely
Is not on my Callaway GPS yet?
I'm so used in relying on the device for distance control. Greens will get better as the course matures. Some green is too small for the average players who don't spin back the balls. In general, challenging and reasonable price.
Short course
Not a bad short course. Don't need to be a long hitter. But accuracy is key. Very small greens. A few ridiculous pin placements.
Tee blocks were hard and very uneven.
Our power cart battery was dying by the 14th hole. We decided to just try and finish with a cart that struggled to get up hills(I had to manually push it a few times) we teed off at 8am so there's no excuse for a battery dying. When we got back to the clubhouse they wouldn't do anything for us and said we should of called the clubhouse.
I won't be returning here.
First round of 2014!
This course was in great condition considering the winter we had and when compared to the reviews i've read on other courses in the same price range. The course is fun with wide fairways, although there are a bunch of blind tee shots over hills. The course is very slanty at times, but that is part of the charm and definitely helps add distance if you can hit straight. The rough is playable on almost every hole, although a couple were wetter/muddier than others; but this should be expected given the time of year.
Just a few cons: one or two bunkers had water in them, no beer cart on the day we went and although the greens were taken care of in terms of having grass and no divots, they were a bit inconsistent. Some were really hard and fast, others were perfect. Made putting an adventure.
I have always enjoyed playing here. Think I've been here three or four times now.
First round here & of the sesason
Course was in good shape. I will definitely go back.
Some blind shots you need to be sure were you need to shoot!! Greens are small
An experience
I love this course, great value for your money. Staff is friendly and helpful. Cart boys are always friendly. I will play this course many times in my life.
Short course but challenging
I enjoyed my first time at Turtle Creek, the ground was a little soggy, which expected at this time of year. I like the design up and down all over the place, makes for interesting shots. I really liked the thirteenth hole par 5 long hitters beware you could be swimming off the tee. Overall a good experience.
good value for money
tricky little course. excellent use of the water. stay right of Joshua Tree on the back.
Great price, just a bit out of the city
My friend and I enjoyed our second round at turtle creek. Good conditions considering how early in the season it was. Wasn't too busy we got to play at our own pace. Will play again.
