The Rock Golf Club
About
Located in Minett along the shores of Lake Rosseau, The Rock is a target-style course designed by Nick Faldo. The golf course is laid out over a scenic terrain of rolling hills, granite rock outcroppings, and hardwood trees. Faldo incorporated narrow, tree-lined fairways and sloping greens into the design to create a formidable test for players of all skill levels. At 6,545 yards from the back tees, it may not be particularly long but it is a demanding golf course that requires precision off the tees as well as greenside. The par-4 13th is a particularly challenging hole that requires a long tee shot that has to be played to the right to compensate for the severely sloping fairway that leans to the left and the uphill green is to the right past a large granite formation.

What a track!!!
Well worth the drive from Toronto, not that difficult to get to. My GPS watch didn't work ,which is kind of a drag I really could have used it. Course knowledge is everything here.
Extremely humbling. You should be a at least a 12-15 hcp to enjoy this course. Most definitely not for beginners.
I dare you to play it !!!
One of the best in Muskoka
I had heard how difficult this course could be. I felt if you are hitting the ball fairly well then you can score well. During the week there were only a few people on the course. We did our round in 3 hrs and 15 mins. , it was a great day of golf.
Wonderful course!
Our group had a great time at this wonderful course. Playing in mid-October, we practically had the place to ourselves. Staff was great, very friendly and helpful. We could have played faster, bit stopped for an incredible lunch after 9. Very highly recommended, we will be back again!
Very nice course, but narrow
The weather conditions were not ideal, but we enjoyed the challenge. A very nice track and we will be back
This course is very enjoyable to play.
The setting is beautiful. The fairways are carved out of the Canadian shield -- lots of granite. Well maintained. Soft fairways. Several elevated greens. Very picturesque.
Some great golf holes in the beautiful Muskoka's
I have wanted to play this course for years and found it to be a fair course and it presented some great golf holes. The greens are well guarded and frequently elevated and if you miss to the left or right it presents some challenging shots to get up and Down for a par. Played from the tips and it was very enjoyable.
Exceptional !
This course was very challenging buy worth the opportunity.
Plenty of rock but the fairways and greens were in excellent shape for the time of year, or for that matter would be for any time of year. Plays well and we never had to wait. Greens were fast but true.
Nick should keep his day job as an announcer.
Poor course conditions aside, the course is very gimmicky...too many blind shots. I'm a 7 handicap, been playing golf all my life at all kinds of courses and this was one of the worst.
Beautiful stroll through Muskoka
Beautiful setting for this course nestled in Muskoka. I'd played it a few years ago/ before it was closed for a year to re-design it- to make it play easier. (Actually had a hole-in-one on # 11- that was as good as it got).
it's still tough/ quite a few lost balls- low handicappers will be challenged but I'd say it's not particularly designed for the recreational golfer.
Tough as a Rock!!
This is a very difficult course, with several blind shots. If you haven't played it before, bring extra golf balls as you are certain to lose some.
Conditions are usually decent.
