Golfer Reviews
Wind always BLOWS!
A cart is needed not only because of the elevation changes, but there are a lot of blind tee shots, so you need to drive ahead to take a look until you've played it a few times.
This course is NOT for the first timers! Always tons of wind, BIG, DEEP, Bunkers, and BIG, undulating, FAST, greens. Although, being a little early in the season because of the relentless winter, the greens were not quite up to their usual quality through no fault of the course. Overall, it was in excellent condition, as usual. It only plays 5800 yards from the Blues, but don't be fooled - that's more than enough of a challenge for the average weekend golfer with this layout, and the ever present wind
Wow!
The course at Braeben was in unbelievably great shape for this time of year. I've played 6 different courses this year, and Braeben was by far bar non the best course. For conditions and pace of play. Highly recommend this course to everybody.
very tough and tight holes
The course was in good shape, slightly windy day and its definitely a challenging course. You have to place your shot otherwise your ball is gone.
Braeben on Golf Now
Note that the driving range at Braeben is closed for the season. So the advertising on GolfNow for Green, Fee, Cart and Range Bucket is incorrect.
Always a Challenge
Braeben is one of my favorites. Played in mid October so greens were a little hairy but fairways were in great shape. Braeben is open and exposed to wind and weather which makes for a good challenge. Food and beverage service shabby. Not open @ 9:30 AM and no sandwiches to go @ 11:45.
great course
Tricky course with great risk/reward holes. There was some standing water on the fairways due to a huge amount of rain over night, considering that the course condition was exceptional. I will definitely be back.
Good Challenge, Great Course
WOW! Diamond in the rough!
what a great track, nice challenge for any levels of golfer, very well maintained and friendly staff. For the price we payed what a steal!
will be back!
great greens
Greens rolled at an above average pace and true.
Fiarways and tee boxes perfect.
A couple blind shots for challenge.
Great value.
Definitely recommend
Good day at BraeBen
For a course that's close to the city, you never feel crowded at BB. Always enjoy our rounds here. The staff is friendly and efficient and the conditions great, especially considering all the hot, dry weather we've been getting. Pace of play was no problem. didn't wait once. Just a fun day all around. So many golf courses forget that they're in customer service but that doesn't happen at BB.
great course
The staff was extremely efficient and friendly and the golf course is in remarkably great shape. Can't say enough good things about it.
I would like to mention though that the city should try to make the rates more affordable as the regular patrons can only afford to play through Golfnow.com . The rates are too high as compare to the other municipal courses.
Would not hesitate to recommend it to anyone who is up for a challenge on a link style course and can afford it. Thanks.
Very nice scenery and course in the heart of Mississauga
Not from my office, there is the City owned Golf Course BraeBen. I started late on a Friday afternoon. Although we were paired up, after the first hole we let the two other guys pass. During the 18 holes, we let two other guys and a single pass, which is never a problem! Absolutely single golfer supporter because I play normally also alone.
The course is really nice, especially in the later hours of the day. We booked it over a promotion site and got also balls for the range.
Roughing it
Rough is overly thick so any Drive off the tee must be true and straight. No forgiveness. If you lose a ball in the fescue you are likely to find another ball. Many challenging holes. Very enjoyable for a city course although a little pricey.
Good view great course
I like this course it's fun to play with spectacular views of sauga
Nice Muni Course
We were in the first group out so we set the pace. Very cool and windy day which added to the difficulty. Course is in great shape, greens very fast. Finished in under 4 hours. Great morning of golf! Worth it at the Golf Now discount but don't know if I would pay full freight.
Windy test
Not long, but tricky greens and always windy!
Food was good at turn.
BreaBen - Very Good GolfNow Deal
Braeben is a great deal when GolfNow steps in and offers on its site its discounted rate. While I support publicly-owned courses, it's important that they understand they need t keep their daily fees competitive and not at rates beyond the average golfer. At $56 including tax and range balls, that's a good deal willing to attract more golfers on the course. The rate is on-par with the weekday senior rate including cart but excluding tax and balls. Monday was very quiet for the course. It felt like we were on our own private course for most of the morning.
the course attracts a lot of young golfers to it golf camp. it was nice to see them practising on the range.
The layout is enjoyable and the views of the City of Mississauga are special. It's 30 minutes away from downtown Toronto and is close to the highway. The course is well-maintained. The bunkers are in excellent shape. The rough is rough. The natural grasses remind you of many links-style courses found "across the pond".
It was nice to play there this week.
a difficult course when the wind is blowing
a faders course, just need to keep the ball in play
