Golfer Reviews
Did not play it was rained out
did not play it got rained out. would have liked to play . the place looks nice
If you haven't played here - you MUST
Dramatic views, fast greens, well manicured fairways are all part of the package. Built on an old dump, Braeben has some good views of Mississauga, and the course itself is beautifully chiseled out of the land. An amazing round at an amazing course.
My only complaint is that it's a little pricey. But fun - wow! I'd go back in a heartbeat. Oh - and take a cart, it is hilly - really hilly.
Solid Course
The course is lush and green links style. The greens were speedy, however, they were in generally rough shape due to what appeared to be a lack of recovery from the last aeration and other golfers not repairing their ball marks.
Moderately challenging (more so into the wind that blows constantly) and it's necessary to keep your ball out of the fescue lining the sides of the holes else you will not find it.
The views of the GTA are very nice, as well.
Conveniently located to the city
Best value for a course near the city. Fairways were in great condition. Greens were ok, but recently airrated.
Braeben Golf Course
Fairways and pace of play is excellent. However, a number of greens are in very poor condition and need of repair immediately.
But, a fantastic course and great view!!!
Great value course conditions poor
Greens terrible, course overbooked, staff grumpy.
Golf cart highly recommended unless you are a mountain goat, definitely links style golf course wind was 25 to 30 mph club selection was critical.
Bunkers were terrible not enough sand.
Greens terrible and also inconsistent.
Pace of play was excellent.
Course was overbooked and some golfers waited 2 hours after their tee time to tee off.
Poor service from clubhouse
This was the 2nd time we played at this course , we really like the course and their service . However we were not very please with the service and the way we were treated in the club house . The person checked us in before the game gave us hard time because we book through Golfnow . This was not a pleasant experience compare to the 1st time .
Challenging but Fair
Not a good course for my second time out in the season. Challenging course, the first hole has a 1 handicap! Weather-wise we got rained on a bit between the 8-11 holes. Didn't get service from the beverage cart until the 16th hole and this is after we the server near the 9th hole and agreed to meet at the 10th. Overall, I liked the course and would go back for a better or same deal off of Golfnow.com
Hilly
For last minute golf this was expensive for 2 players.
Very little water on course but hilly throughout making walking impossible
Pace very slow - Over 5 1/2 hours to play with power cart
Very scenic view with hilly terrain
Greens did not survive winter very well.
Found the fairways in great shape. Greens were somewhat disappointing. Very patchy in some areas and nobody fixes ball marks. Sand in the bunkers was crusty and hard packed. Got around the course in good time.Views are spectacular.
too bad
Green condition is too bad.
Price is high.
I will not play this course.
My handicap is around 3 to 5.
slow and painful
Took over 4.5 hours to finish only 14 holes. Course was in terrible condition, but we can blame the winter for that one. Every hole is really similar except for number 7 which is one of the nicest in all of southern ontario.
Winter wreaked havoc on Greens.
Challenging course, greens were in terrible condition due to the harsh winter conditions. Pace a of play was a little slow.
If you miss the fairway, good luck finding your ball.
Bad Shape Course
The greens are in terrible shape, especially the front 9. You are better off giving yourself 2 strokes as soon as you hit the green and move on. Maybe it is just the time of year but it's almost not worth even trying to putt.
There are too many blind shots on this course. Elevation is good but when you are blind off the tee and blind on your second shot that makes no sense. The layout of the course doesn't allow for much variety. Location is nice for those is Mississauga but it is worth travelling out of the city for more spacious courses.
7th is the one hole that you will actually be impressed with, unfortunately there is not enough other impressive things to keep you coming back. The staff are very nice and the classic breakfast is easily worth the $5, might want to just get two just for fun.
Braeban
Course was in good condition except for the greens which we're being aerated. It was extremely windy but it usually is there because of its lack of protection from the elements. Overall good experience.
Great Muni Course
Course was in surprisingly good condition considering the winter we had. I ended up walking the course but wished I rented the Power Cart instead.
I just played Braeben today (July 14th), and staff was not as friendly because I booked through Golf Now.
