The catch! Photo submitted by GolfGTA on 08/02/2013
Always I have been enjoying this course
Everything is O.K for me except rounding time.
Sometimes I have a big stress because of tough time.
That means some people who played in front of me they jammed. So I need to control rounding time by Martial.
Normarly, when I play in this course it takes 4hours maximum.
But yesterday, it took almost 5hours.
Nice course for an old landfill site!
Nice course, some holes you get panalized for having a good shot. Lots of blind shots, but challenging.
Links style course in the heart of the city
This is a great course with amazing views no matter what hole you're on. The unique hills and bunkers made for some challenging holes. Definitely bring your camera, you'll be taking pictures with your friends (and the course) the whole way round.
Ps. Golf cart recommended for everyone except superhero's, professional athletes and marathon runners
A fishy tale to tell about this great course!
I have reviewed this course a couple of times and if you haven't played here, it is a must, at least once for anyone who lives in the GTA.
So to my story: Last fall a friend and I played this course just after I had returned from a two week camping trip up near Thunder Bay. After we teed off on the 7th hole my friend went to look for his ball in the woods, so while I was waiting to putt I took a quick peek in the small pond beside the green. To my surprise I spotted a 3 lb large mouth bass swimming along the shore!
Well, over the course of the next few holes my mind began to turn from golf to fishing, and then I remembered that I still had my collapsible fishing pole in my car, and I knew we would be passing by that pond again between holes 14 and 15. So on the turn, when we passed by the clubhouse and parking lot, I quickly grabbed my fishing pole from my trunk and stuck it in my golf bag. Over the next few holes I became determined to proceed with my plan of combining my two passions....golf and fishing!
As we finished the 14th hole we feverishly looked around for the marshal or anyone else, and then diverted back to the 7th hole pond!
The coast was clear so I made one cast with a hula popper and ..Bam! I battled and landed the beast right beside the bunker! After a few quick pictures on the green next to the pin, the fish was released and we were on our way.
But just as we pulled up the hill towards the 14th hole (and were laughing to ourselves about how awesome we were about getting away with it) the marshal appeared and was driving right towards us! He slowed as he approached and gave us this look, a look reminiscent of a 4th grade teacher to a mischievous student. I was expecting to get booted off the course right then and there, so we meekly smiled with our guilt laden faces. To our surprise when he pulled up he said "a bit wet out today eh fellas?..." we both hastily nodded, smiled and drove on by!
Not only is it a great golf course but it also has a good little fishin' hole to boot! I have attached a few photos from the day for your enjoyment!
Love this course due to it's difficulty and cleanliness. Well maintained and friendly staff
The only thing I can see that this facility can improve is to provide bath towels since it has shower units.
Tough Track!
Lots of elevation changes and wind directions make this a difficult track. We walked, which makes a difficult round even tougher! Great views of Mississauga from the higher elevations, and add some highland rough and grass and you really need to keep the ball in play.
Unique
If you can stay in the fairways, you'll be fine. Amazing views, very enjoyable layout. Very different from anything you would normally play. Built on a landfill, how amazing is that!
What a great course; definitely love the "links"-like feel and some of the views!
While its not a top 100 Ontario course, I found this course to be great nevertheless (should be a 4.5 out of 5 but I gave it a 5)!
Fairways and greens were very well maintained, I loved that there were no tree obstacles but if you didn't hit the fairway, there was a good chance that your ball would roll away and off the hole, given the various elevations of this course! There were also some pretty nice views here; one in particular from an elevated par 3.
Overall, it was a great experience and would love to play this course again!
Interesting layout
Challenging course that makes think about your game as opposed to stepping up and hammering away. Pace was a little slow and the marshals seemed more interested in looking for balls instead of keeping the groups moving. Would recommend it to friends.
good value for money
good course and great staff. a must play if you're in the area and looking for a challenging links course.
Always love playing this course - great views.
Excellent course with great views and challenging holes. Always a pleasure to play. Took a friend to the course and we had a great day.
Walking This Course Can Be Difficult
Unless your conditioning is fairly good, I would recommend riding a cart on this course. Course was in good condition, and has a substantial number of hills. Easy to bounce on the wrong side of a hill, and can cost you a couple strokes. Sand traps could have been raked in the morning. Course can also get pretty windy, which makes for more of a challenge. Price included range balls, but driving range prohibited the use of a driver. Irons only on the range.
GReat Links Course
This course is in great shape.. Best to play the back tees to get a full length course experience..
Great redesign of old landfill site to provide a good golf course!
The rolling hills, of this open links style course, and open 360 degree views of surrounding areas provide a nice golf experience. Don't let openness fool you as this course requires accurate course management to avoid tall grass in rough.
Greens were very receptive. I would recommend this course to play.
Great Course
Its hard to believe that this location used to be the city dump. The course is well maintained and has a great view of the city around it. It is a great example of a links style course. I would recommend playing from the tips if you hit your drive 240+.
Not easy but funny
This course absolutely looks hard due to large bush and narrow fairway but pretty funny.
A unique course with a great view of the city of Mississauga.
A course that really tests your abiility to hit straight shots. The rough is tough to play out of. The greens are true and fast.
Fun Course but slow pace and dangerous.
Fun course to play with great views. Nice conditions with great bunkers and thick rough around the greens. Pace of play was slow and course is dangerous with tee boxes close to greens and beginner golfers. Playing partner was hit once. Lots on un-repaired divots on the greens.
True links course
Very good golf, in the heart of missassauga ontario.
Course very well maintained.
A really enjoyable links course which doesn't disappoint.
Best hamburgers in town.
Keep it in the fairways and you'll have a great day.
