Lionhead Golf and Country Club - Legends
About
The Legends Course at Lionhead Golf & Country Club has been ranked before as one of the toughest golf courses in North America and the club boasts that it is the toughest in Canada. Lionhead Golf & Country Club also offers another, less demanding 18-hole course that is equally entertaining, the Masters. Legends features numerous challenges including vast lakes, cavernous sand bunkers, and tall fescue. The layout winds through a rugged portion of the Credit River Valley with steeply rolling terrain and wooded ravines, providing the golf course with elevated, undulating greens. The eighth is a notable hole, both for its beautiful scenery and its difficulty level. It is a long par 3 over a pond filled with tall bulrushes.

This course not worth for the money.
When I booked this course through Golf Now, it was for only one player which also meant I will be joining 3 other players. When I was waiting at the tee box, I was informed that I will be only player. If I don’t want to play by myself, I have to wait half an hour to join another twosome group.
The second issue I have is that the green has been aerated and making putting unpleasant. Normally the club house should inform the player or offer a much reduced green fee to compensate the inconvenience caused.
The third issue is the pace of play. There are too many players that don’t have golf etiquette causing the play very slow. We basically have to wait on every hole. Also saw players in front of us tossing putters and missed, damaging the green.
The whole round was not very pleasant and I don’t think I would like to play there again until the situations improve.
Great day
Great course for people looking for a day that is much more challenging than average.
I just thought the layout of some of the holes on the course were ridiculous....a lot of totally blind shots. Speed of play was extremely slow...easily a 5+ hour round with no rangers pushing play, and the layout contributing to slow play.
A monster to conquer
Truly great experience to test my game against such a challenging monster of a course. After playing at the Legends course and not loosing my ball the entire round itself was an achievement. I felt my game improved that day as I was forced to keep the ball in a tight line. Now playing courses with less degree of difficulty seems a walk in the park. A real transformative experience for any serious golfer who wants to improve.
Lion's Head
There was more than usual ball marks on the green. I would fix 4 or more on every hole. It would be nice if players fixed their ball marks.
