Silver Lakes Golf & Country Club
About
Carved from 200 acres of mature forest along the Holland River just 40 minutes from downtown Toronto, Silver Lakes Golf & Country Club provides a scenic round reminiscent of those found in either Florida or the Carolinas. Neighbored by native wetlands, the golf course features water hazards on 12 holes. There are also treacherous, well placed bunkers coming into play on every hole. The par-3 third hole is notably challenging, in addition to being flanked by bunkers, it also requires a carry over a pond. Silver Lakes Golf & Country Club also features a unique seven-acre aqua driving range as well as three chipping and putting greens.

A good course to enjoy
It is a well maintained course and the fairways n greens are in good condition. The roughs are pretty high for amateur players n not easy to find the balls as sometimes buried beneath the rough. This will slow down the pace as more time is needed to locate the ball. Check in was quick n easy with very friendly and polite staff and Marshall. The beverage cart is always around and is good in this hot weather. Overall it is a good course to enjoy.
Keep it in the fairway.
The course conditions were great. Stay in the fairway and be sure to bring your putting “A” game! Greens were fast but rolled true.
Wish the Marshalls did their job
The course was in great shape on a great day for golf. Only drawback was the pace. Just under six hours and we were a threesome on carts with decent handicaps (so respectfully no it wasn’t us).
Longest round I have played in almost a decade so definitely 1 star
A SCENEC AND CHALLENGING LAYOUT
Highly recommended and great value for your money.
What a shame
I’ll start off by saying this is a nice course & always has been. But! Played as a single & a couple of groups let me through but there were a few singles & 2somes that should’ve been combined, including me. This course is always wet & almost unplayable at times. I have played here many times over the years but not for a long time now & I’ve never seen the rough as long as it was. It was U.S. open like. At least 5-6” high. I tried to hit out of it twice with no success. On one hole they had made the first cut off the fairway & left huge amounts of cut grass at the edge of the first cut & the long rough. I lost 2 balls just off the fairway. I read the reviews where 8 days ago they aerated the greens & there were still lots of holes that affected the roll of the putt. I finally quit & left after the 12th hole. I was very disappointed.
Spring aeration alert ⚠️
So disappointed with the course condition (wet), especially the green fee being charged.
To make thing worst, all the greens have just been aerated. The course needs to notify customers/Golfnow at their website and/or at the booking page. Had I known about it, I would definitely not played there!!
