Challenging No. 3 hole at Whirlppol Photo submitted by Stevensiu on 04/03/2013
Embarrassing
I would have been embarrassed to have been the one to say the course is open for the day we played. To charge what they did with the course in the condition it was. Some fairways were cut but many were not. You could not tell if you were on the fairway or the rough. At many holes the rough was mowed before the fairway. I get it that we had much rain but to open and charge as much as they did is embarrassing. Generally a great course but not that day.
Whirlpool/swampool
This course is underwater and severely soaked throughout. Cart paths have been washed out in spots. 12” deep pools that were the cart paths. Every step/swing was wet, muddy, and not enjoyable. This course needs Caribbean heat for months to dry out. Was really looking forward to playing this course for the first time, disappointed due to all the water.
Thank you for taking the time to review us! We are sorry to see that you did not fully enjoy your time with us. We are always looking to improve, so we appreciate you taking the time to give us some feedback. We hope to have you back in the future.
Brutal
While I can understand the weather hasn’t been kind, it’s frustrating when you lose your ball in the middle of fairway because the grass hasn’t been cut. Forget it in the rough. Even 3 feet in rough it was like a forest. Played this course over the last 25 years and never saw it like today. Just brutal.
Thank you so much for taking the time to leave us a review. We are going to pass on your feedback to the teams in charge so they can work to make changes. Thanks for visiting Whirlpool Golf Course. We hope to see you again in the future.
Soaked
This course should not have been open for play, realistically everyone who played that day should all be refunded their money, i have never seen a golf course allowing play that was that soaked. Every shot was almost under water, ridiculous play was even considered. The warning from the pro shop was cart paths only, so we walked, and i hope you have waterproof shoes, complete understatement....very, very disappointed to say the least.....
May 2019
Very very soggy
Cart path only makes a long trek
Great course when-the weather is better and course is dryer
Slow play
Our foursome play behind 2 twosome and playing very slow, the course is good condition for spring golf.
First time
Got a great deal do enjoyed it. Not sure it would be as good full price.
Great conditio
Can’t believe the conditions for this time of year. Beautiful and green.
One of my favorites
First with the negatives: early season play with wet (soggy) fairways, less than ideal greens, cart path only. Lost plugged ball, wet feet.
Positives: excellent reception, great layout, I walked thus alleviated the 'cart path only' restrictions and got more than adequate exercise.
Only complaint - a bit pricey for spring conditions considering soggy fairways and marginal greens.
However, I'll be back and soon. Peter
exceptional
I have played all courses in the region & this is still the best.
Good for opening weekend
Course was in good shape as always a little wet due to recent rain. All the fairways and greens were very clean no leaves left from the winter. Overall in good shape. Had a good round.
It was wet and the course was a little muddy
Out of 5 I give it a 3. The reason for this is that the course was a bit wet n muddy which I didn’t mind but there was no ball washer at each hole. Not sure why, specially when the course was wet n muddy.
RETURN TO WHIRLPOOL
I have not played this course in 11-12 years and my wife and I were looking for a late in the season outing and chose Niagara area due to the weather forecast, a Golfnow deal for the course and the fact we had enjoyed this course in the past.
Unfortunately the weather man was optimistic, never got above 8 C accompanied by a cold wind. We survived.
However, course was VERY wet due to heavy recent rains and carts were path only which stretched the round to 4 1/2 hours and we didn't wait on a tee after the 3rd hole.
it was the last open day here, so may be why they allowed us out at all. Many fairways and even a tee box were saturated with pools of water on surface and all bunkers were flooded.
My course condition of average is based on this, not really their issue, staff was very friendly and course has been in fine shape in past.
That notwithstanding course did not play as tight as in past, maybe because most of the leaves were off the trees, but i think a few trees may have been removed since my last round here. (not like I'm driving straighter!) Greens were wet but in good shape. Nice layout, with some scenic holes and saw some small deer beside one hole.
Best parts of the day were John and Bob, from Fort Erie, who were paired with us and some of the best company we have ever had on a round of golf. Very pleasant and patient, sorry if we slowed you guys up. John has game too!
Course is on next years play list; hoping for drier conditions.
Glad to hear you enjoyed the course despite the wet conditions. We look forward to hosting you again next season!
Course changed
We played at the Legends Niagara instead of Whirlpool because it was frost in the morning.
Legend course was excellent as well.
Thank you very much. We hope you'll get another chance to experience Whirlpool next time you're in the area.
We appreciate you taking the time to leave us a review. We are sorry you didn't have a positive experience with us. We will make sure this gets passed to the appropriate teams so we can improve moving forward.
