Thundering Waters Golf Club
About
Thundering Waters Golf Club, so named for its proximity to the Canadian Horseshoe Falls, has a unique layout that combines a parkland course with the tricky elements of a heathland golf course. There is an interesting combination of drivable par 4s and scenic par 3s that will provide a formidable test for even the most skilled players. The golf course first winds through heavily wooded patches and then finds its way to rugged hills dotted with thick fescue where true links-style holes with deep bunkers and large, undulating greens await you. The layout also features several doglegs and more than 100 bunkers strategically placed throughout. Water hazards come into play on 10 holes. Thundering Waters Golf Club was Canada's first John Daly signature golf course.

Best score to date
Got the deal on golf now and saved $30. The course was in great shape, and the staff were amazing. Will defiantly play here again.
Talk about sand !!
This course is littered with sand traps and water hazards.
It will bring the best and the worst out of everybody.
Enjoy....Thundering Waters is a great course to play.
Great from tee to green
The course was in good condition, with the greens being a bit bumpy and "fuzzy". Interesting sight lines from the tee with the bunker arrangements and flow of the fairway. For a golfer with "above average" length, the course might feel somewhat short from the tips.
Thundering Waters is always pleasing, great course
Green's were a tad slow, would like to see them a little faster, other than that the staff is supper friendly and helpful. Course in great shape!! Love those deep, deep bunkers, hahahaha
The cart path are all paved....
This course is great but lack driving range...I'll play this course again...
A gem in the Falls
The course is in great condition and features numerous tight fairways and deep green side and fairway bunkers. The courses fairways are better than some courses greens. During play it was incredibly windy with numerous holes having you drive the ball directly into a head wind. Accuracy is key on this course. Missed hit chip shots can cause your ball to roll right off green, leaving you a tough recovery shot. This course is a thinking players course. Solid strategy and ability to execute a good golf shot is rewarded. Inability to do so is punished with 144 bunkers on the course and water hazards on almost every hole.
Amazing golf destination
The four tees give everyone from the weekend duffer..to low handicap a true golf experiance...
Amazing staff...Unbelivable course condition...a true treat in the Niagara downtown core..minutes from every major Niagara destinations..and world class GOLF!!!
This course is very tight and narrow. Better hit it straight!
I loved playing here and will definitely come back again... very soon!
Thundering waters Review
This is by far one of the best courses in Niagara and I will gladly keep going back to play. The fairways were perfect the greens were in great condition. Had a great time playing.
this course is chalanging
the course played great but sand traps need work but in good shape for this time of year4/
course was in good condition for this time of year
the course played great the sand traps need work but it is early in the year04
Not a long course but must be carefull where you place the ball
The tee boxes and greens in very good shape. The farways are very soggie but its that time of year. Take a few extra balls with you as you will loose a couple to plugging in the farway. This is the fourth time I have played it this year and enjoy it every time. The only complante I have is the bunkers are very poor and have been all year. They are in need of alot more sand.
This course makes you feel like you're really out in nature with the way it has been carved out of the local landscape of trees and water.
The course was in great shape with with well trimmed grass and not many leaves for this time of year. The greens putted true even with some sand on them for winter prep. The sand traps weren't reworked since the latest rain so we raked a spot and replaced the ball. The five tee levels accomodate all players so we played from the whites which were just over 5000 yards. Due to the difficulty of the course it made it seem like 6000 at other courses but I loved the challenge this course provides.
This course is short but still has some shot makers holes which cause it to be a bit more difficult.
Nice course. Couple of goofy holes like the first and seventh holes. I would play again and like the course. It is generally in good shape but was very wet the day I played.
This course does have awesome features.
Thundering Waters golf club is a course that has every golfer mesmerized by the outstanding manicured look to the course and the name helps sell it! We have played this course back to back weekend and even with mother nature giving the course a soaking to make it cart path only and the bunkers full of water,it still was an awesome day at the course! Looking forward to playing again next weekend already! Great way to spend a sunday on the course in October! Staff is awesome and match the course! Good job!
Make this part of your "To-Golf" list
Although I played this course 5 days after the greens were air-raided, I can still see the potential. I'm certain that during any other time of the year, this course would be impressive for anyone.
This is the first year that I've taken a week off work for my "Stay-cation" and decided to golf nothing but local golf courses all week long. Thundering Waters did not disappoint.
The highlight of my round was the combination of tee-time (7:33am = no one else except grounds crew on course), and in cart flat screen GPS monitors.
I will certainly be back again next year, hopefully more often than just during my Golf "Stay-cation"
I appreciate your review. I also read your G. Niagara review and found it to be a breathe of fresh regarding that course. Continue with your poignant comments. They help us save our money/time by avoiding the overrated.
Shot Makers Course!
This. Course will sharpen your short game and will reward the long "Daley" like hitter with reachable par 4's and FIVE par 5's all within reach. Don't get off line though or you will be reaching into the bag for balls!!
Exceeded expectations
Had read many unflattering reviews of this course. Especially since the changes have occurred. I purchased a hot deal tee time. I arrived and was met by very attentive, friendly course staff. Starter was very cordial and introduced me to my fellow patrons. I played the round with three gentlemen who'd played the course in both of its iterations. We played the course from a combo of blue/black tees. They had decided this was the best approximation of the original layout. I found the condition of the course to be above average for public use courses in Niagara. No real quirky holes to ruin the round. Greens were challenging and in good condition. I will be playing this course again. It is a good value for the price.
Precise driver needed
If you are wild with the driver you may not like this course..Take the advice of the starter and play Blue if you shoot in the 80's. Blacks if you shoot in the 70's
Great Course Be Ready For A Challenge
This course if beautiful and is a great layout. Narrow fairways and several bunkers make it a real challenge and a score can really escalate on any given hole. A must play anytime you are in Niagara.
Seaview Stay & Play Golf Package
The par 3's won't feel short from the tips, that's for sure.
