Brentwood Country Club
About
Brentwood is a 1980s-style course with narrow fairways, loads of out-of-bounds, and water in play on more than half the holes.
Two par 5s stand out on the front: the opening 540-yard eye-opener, and the 517-yard No. 6, considered the toughest hole of the front nine.
On the back, the par 5 530-yard 15th hole is rated as the most difficult.
Getting there : From I-10 east, take the Walden Rd. exit and turn left. Drive approximately 4 miles and turn left onto Major Dr. The course is .5 mile down the road, and the entrance is on the left side of the street.

Wet from rain, still had fun
Standing water all over the course due to recent rain. Didn’t bother me too badly, I had a beautiful day and was happy to be outside.
A wet day, could be nice on a dry one
They had 3 inches of rain the night before so it was casual water everywhere except the greens (which were raised on every hole and drained well). Not a particularly interesting design but a very affordable muny type course. Pace was great until the 12th hole when an incredible slow foursome was not letting others through and I gave up two holes later. A very nice Marshall gave me a ride back to the clubhouse (I was walking) but wasn't going to force the foursome to change.
Very much Improved
100% better than the last time I played this course about a year ago
Brentwood Country Club
The course is looking a lot better. You can tell they have started spending back into the course. The cart paths are a lot better.
Nice Layout
The course conditions were good. The layout of this course is really good. Makes you hit some quality shots and even provides some elevation changes to challenge you. Very friendly staff. Will play again and recommend if your in the Beaumont area.
Course Condition
They have done some work on the course from the last time I was there. The golf cart path is in much better shape. The greens are a lot better also but i could see where the heat and the lack of rain is starting to affect them. I will be back though.
Beautiful Layout
This is the best location for a peaceful and enjoyable game in east Texas. Better than most clubs in Houston.
Marshall
The Marshall is great here. Even with a tournament going on he still repeatedly checked on us to make sure we got on the course as quickly as possible.
Course conditions
I wood have given course conditions a higher rating except for the water on the course. To wet to mow so the fairways were long and the greens were slow. I’ll play here again if I’m ever in Beaumont again.
Noticed Some Changes
My first round of the new year at the course formerly known as Brentwood CC and now goes by the CC of Texas was a bit like playing the British Open it was so windy. But I was glad to be out in mild temps at least and the course was in fairly good shape. The greens weren't too bad. Recent rains made the fairways soggy but it wasn't too difficult to move it around and find a decent lie. I noticed the pro shop downsized into the men's locker room area on this trip, making room for a dining facility for special events. I'm sure the new owners are going to pump some much needed cash into the facility and try and have things hopping in each area of the country club. I wish had known about the $5 burger/fries/drink special in the snack bar area before I grabbed something on the way. One of the better values in the area for golf! The staff was friendly and accommodating, too.
Very playable
Was cart path only due to recent heavy rains. Grass not yet green, winter tan. Some casual water. Enjoyable layout. Would play again if I didn’t live 1000 miles from Beaumont
Not too shabby for the day after rain.
Overall great day. The course was a bit wet from rain the previous couple of days; this was most noticeable on the front 9. The back 9 was mostly dry and the greens were in good shape. Staff at clubhouse and the Boudin Hut (restaurant in clubhouse) were awesome. Charly and Jamie in the BH and the guy in the proshop were super helpful and friendly. I'm a frequenter of The club (formerly Brentwood Country Club) and will be back and will recommend the course to friends. Truly a great place to play for the money.
