Exceptional Course, Pandemic Measures stole the magic.
I always love playing Deerfield. It’s challenging, thoughtfully designed, and carefully taken care of.
The long Par 4s and 5s are exceptionally designed, making you consider both range and direction, challenging to any level of golfer.
The 3s mix in hazards and the course will have you reaching for every club in your bag and shot in your arsenal.
The pandemic stole some of the appeal, with Deerfield opting to raise their cups above the grade, meaning you’ll never know what putts you may have made or missed on speed.
Overall great time.
Deerfield
For the first outing this year and being the first group of the day it was very good pace etc the course was in very good condition.
PROS and CONS of COVID-19
CON - desperate golfers looking to escape isolation results in no golf bargains to be found
PRO - once on the course, you are on your own. It was like our private course. Social distancing is a breeze.
Course conditions - greens were far slower than expected.
Some disappointment
Previously when I have booked on golf now if a course had airrated their greens an icon would have appeared. No icon but greens were airrated. As a result I felt a further discounted rate should have applied. Also I was disappointed that no bottles of pop were available. Only fountain pop. Also only snacks available were chips. No muffins or chocolate bars.
Great overall challenge
Really good mix of holes, par 5 -4-3, each presented a decent challenge, from water to sand to trees. I loved it we will be back.
Deerfield
Positive day on the course great shape greens very fast putts rolled true. Great staff, Pace of play was a little slow but nobody's fault. Overall a great day on a great course.
Gem
Deerfield never lets me down. The course was in excellent shape greens were fast and fair. Like it so much heading back in a few days to see if I can get back some of the strokes I left on the course today
