14th tee at Glen Abbey. One of the toughest drives on tour. Photo submitted by Chris5757223 on 02/12/2016
Gotta love the Abbey
We played as a threesome. Started a little late, but there had been a frost delay, and this was one of the last tee times of the day. Sadly the range was closed, but the putting and chipping and bunker area were excellent. We started on hole #17. Different, and understandably a very slow start. Cart path only. We soon discovered all the on-course bathrooms were closed for the season. Greens were still fast, and not a lot of roll on the fairways. Still, the leaves weren't too bad, and the bunkers had some playable areas left in them.
Over priced
Paid 180+ each for a round... overpriced for it bring that wet... lost plugged balls on the fairways ... because I had relatives up from the east coast and they were only able to play on Sunday I had to book several days in advance...
Had to pay 180.00 plus per round...
Where if you book one day in advance you get a round for 78-90 dollars i think it said ... no driving range either... would have been alright for 90 bucks but definitely not worth 180 what I paid
Messy
A wet and muddy course, but not the fault of the club. The snow falling left a real mess. Playing on November 4 made it a great time.. I can now put my clubs away for this year with a smile.
Guest experience
2-hour frost delay, which can happen at this time of year, but would be easy to send an email to all guests since we registered and paid online.
We were told the cafe was closed so we couldn't order something to eat or drink and wait inside.
Green fee included range and cart, but the range was closed. That too should have been communicated properly or removed from the advertisement.
Course conditions were decent. There's been a lot of rain lately so not expecting perfect, I would have expected the bunkers to be groomed at least. They were not and there weren't even any rakes to do so ourselves.
There was one gentleman outside trying to coordinate all of the golfers around. He probably could have used some help.
It was cart path only so the pace of play was very slow.
There was no beverage cart on the course.
Playing Glen Abbey has been an annual tradition and this experience did not meet normal expectations. This was not worth $100.
Beautiful course but
The is such a nice course and was really looking forward to playing. Unfortunately today it was very wet and very slow. I understand it was cart path only but we were waiting on every hole because people were not keeping up with the pace of play and there were no marshals on the course. Drainage is very poor so the rough and fairways were very mushy. On a good note the greens were in good shape and rolled nicely all day.
Late Fall at the Abbey
Course was very wet but still playable, greens were great for this time of year. Extremely windy & cold tough conditions. Foliage was in full autumn splendour.
Always fun to play the Abbey.
Glen Abbey revisite
This was to complete my Glen Abbey Golf.
Last week my wife and played a latter tee of and we could not complete the course.
Today I wanted to get a full understanding of the experience.
WOW
it was such a challenge,
So scenic, a must for every golfer.
There is so much history here walking outside the pro shop there are a lot of plaques with all the pros names who were here.
It was a warm day with periods of drizzle
The people I was joined up with are quite good and made the day a lot of fun.
Welcome Home
As always the staff at Abbey go out of their way to accommodate. Every single time I pull into the drive, I am sincerely welcomed by staff. Thank you for having me Abbey Team!!!
Love the Abbey
Considering how wet the grounds were, the course was in great shape. Sadly people are not repairing their divots, and there were tread marks all over the course. Kind of surprised it wasn't cart path only.
Play at Glen Abbey
Hi
My wife and I had a wonderful round at Glen Abbey Golf Course today. We managed to get in 17 holes before it got too dark.
The course conditions were so lush and green, a bit soggy in the lower areas due to all the rain recently.
The group in front was a bit slow so the 18th hole could not be played.
This is a fabulous course, a lot of Interesting history here if you know where to look.
I saw Jack and Arnold here a long time ago.
We will be back for sure.

Balls on practice range were in terrible shape and muddy
No breakfast items (hot sandwiches or bagel with cream cheese would be nice)
Greens were very bumpy and a lot of unrepaired pitch marks - annoying
Difficult to get a decent food service during play - lunch was good
