Glen Abbey Golf Club

We booked a twilight promotion for $99 at 2:50pm. I have never played Glen Abbey due to the cost, but this was a decent price and our last round of the year. Naturally we were pumped to play quick and get as many holes in as possible. The course was beautiful. Holes all felt different and the valley views were picturesque. Sadly the group in front of us didnt have our drive to play quick and we couldn't finish the 18th because it was too dark. The fairways and tee boxes were not in as good of a shape as I would expect for the prestige of this course and the money. Ball marks all over the greens, unfilled divots all over the fairways and tee boxes. I would still go back on a promotional rate, but was a bit disappointed by the condition.

The course is in good shape but there are certain parts that start needing attention and I hope hope that they keep up the course to a level it deserves until a permanent decision is made on its future. things like the retaining wall on the cart path between 15 and 16 is starting to fail needs to addressed. and just some areas around the course are starting to show it age. Othr than that the course itself is still a challenge and has more than one signature hole. I especially like the 11th hole

I heard the course was great but....

Unfortunately I was not able to play my round on the 13th. The night before I started to get “covid symptoms”, so I went to bed early and hoped to sleep it off. Next morning I woke up with aches and pains and a headache so I decided to be a responsible adult and stay home so I don’t spread what I had. So because it was less than 72 hours I had to eat the $200.

Turns out it was just a cold. Darn! I’ve wanted to play at Glen Abbey for about 20 years now, so hopefully next year I can get out and play a round. My buddies that went had a blast though and said the course and views were fantastic. Hopefully see you next year Glen Abbey.

This is a proper golf course which is well maintained and both times I have been out this year the pace has been great.

I enjoyed my round at the past RBC Open course. That was a huge draw for me to get there and play. So paying the big price wasn't a big deal, until after the round, then I felt like it was only worth 100CAD tops. The course in genereal was in decent shape, but I expected absolute presitine, I know they are going thru some things about selling for housing, plus RBC not being there anymore. So maybe thats why, but they still are fine digging 125-150 out of peoples walllets. The staff was all courteous. Had a flat bread in the restaurant, which was delcious. It was fun playing a pro course, The greens were the best about the course, rolled well and were quick. Lots of lack of maintenance with like limbs laying around, divots not filled on the tee boxes. The layout was fun. I would play here again if buddies wanted to play but I would not return alone. The pro shop had a ton of stuff to buy for shirts, shoes, clubs. But unfortunately they didn't have solo logo golf balls, had to buy a 30 dollar towel or 24 dollar box of pinnacles just for 1 ball. That was dissapointing. Expectations were not met, I have played worse courses and I have played many better at much lower price. Its a fun course if you wanna say you played there. Enjoy

There was a corporate event in the morning and even though we teed off on time the pace was very slow. We waited on almost every shot. It was unfortunate that there was no starter or Marshall to give us the heads up for the reason and provide updates. We were excited to play the course for the first time and the non existent service and lack of courtesy negatively impacted the overall experience. It is a lovely course but it is unlikely that we would go back.

Course was in great condition. Truly challenging! My bud and I were overwhelmed with the beauty of the course! Would definitely come back!
