Otter Creek Golf Club
About
Otter Creek Golf Club is situated in the idyllic farm community of Otterville, Ontario, which is only a 30-minute drive from Woodstock. The rural landscape was formerly farm and tobacco fields, lending a unique, rustic character to the golf course. The layout sprawls across 300 acres, winding through the scenic, wooded valleys of Otter, Cedar, and Spittler Creeks. Dick Kirkpatrick, one of Canada's top golf course architects, designed Otter Creek Golf Club. Kirkpatrick designed the course with players of all skill levels in mind, incorporating minimal forced carries and six sets of tees to make it more accessible for those who are new to the game

Golf
Course is quite challenging and always a good test.season is early and traps need some work but overall a good day
Some great features, but...
The greens and fairways are excellent and would match any course in Ontario! Unfortunately, the bunkers have been abandoned and you have to use a rake to create a reasonable surface from which to play. Layout is interesting and challenging with possible exception of #9.
Bang For Buck - One of the Best
I've played Otter Creek more than 10 times now and it is in the middle of nowhere, on an amazing piece of property. The course is very pretty, fair but difficult, with tee blocks that allow for all handicaps. Just be ready for the 9th hole to frustrate the high handicappers, and humble the low handicappers who miss-hit their approach.
This course is always a value saver course. If it was near the GTA, it would always be full and $100 + cart. When the deals are on, go visit this course and enjoy the value you get out of your dollar.
Spring Time Conditions
Our first round of the season at Otter Creek. It started with warm up time on the range - which featured very uneven ground from many, many divots - not just today’s. The greens were extremely fast and no winter kill! The course is in very good shape, only the bunkers need TLC. It was very busy so pace of play was slower than we like. Both golf carts in our foursome couldn’t make any of the hills so one had to be replaced on the first hole and one on the 4th. The good news is that some new ones are on order to replace these. An enjoyable day and we will return.
Check the tee sheet!
I always looked forward to playing Otter Creek for the scenery and challenge. My buddy and I were paired up with two other players and were enjoying the round when we were approached by the marshal and told that we needed to speed up our play because there were two holes open ahead of us. As someone who is always aware of my pace of play, I checked my watch and saw we were on pace for just over 4 hours to complete the round. I promptly pointed out that there were two holes open ahead of us when we started the round. Check the tee sheet before you anger golfers that would have come back to play again.
Great Course
Beautiful Challenging Course,So lucky we had space in front and behind so the pace was perfect, weather was cooperating,Fairways were begining to take shape, greens stil hard to read some holes are fast and some were slow but stil early i guess lol
Great course in the southwest Ontario
Even with the snow, we end up playing the whole 18.
Great course with great staff.
Thank you
Condition of the course was not as good as I've seen in the past. I realize they don't maintain the traps but many had grass and weeds growing in the middle of them. The power cart we had was probably the worst I've ever had. Initially it wouldn't start and when I finally got to the first tee I told the starter I was going to replace it. He asked if it ran and stopped which it basically did so he told me they were all the same. I always enjoy the layout but a little more care is required.
A complete waste of time and money
We have always enjoyed this course but management has decided to do the very least in maintenance on the course blaming covid,; but in reality they are just profit taking and saying too bad to the golfers and not providing the course that everyone expects to play. We were all very disappointed to the point that it may be a very long time if ever that we return to this course. Too bad because we like the challenge .
Not to mention that they were aerating the greens but still charge the same amount.
Great course
I go to otter creek couple times a year and I always enjoy the challenge because it's tough track. The layout has variety and nice mix of par ,4,5 holes. Some longer par 4 make it difficult to get there in 2 for us shorter hitters. The weather was perfect for fall golf!
Beautiful course
Very scenic challenging course. Drove 3 hours to play one way. Would play more often if closer to home. Should be on everyones bucket list. Machine for bunkers needed. Hole number 18 is unfair. A sucker play to go over water, lay up offers no chance to reach in 2. Low 80's player. If in this area play this over Tarendowah.
Great track, but a tough track. High handicaps will struggle. Greens , tees and fairways are beautiful. Good pace. GREAT VALUE. The only negative are the bunkers .. seems as though they have given up on them which is disappointing but does not detract that much at all from
Overall experience.
This Course is beat up
I don’t know if they don’t have the money or just don’t care about this course anymore. The bunkers are lift and replace as they don’t take care of they. The stuff in the bunkers is not sand it is gravel sand mix which will damage your clubs. The fescue is overgrown making it impossible to find anything not in the fairway or first cut of rough. The fairways are more divets than grass.
