Otter Creek Golf Club
About
Otter Creek Golf Club is situated in the idyllic farm community of Otterville, Ontario, which is only a 30-minute drive from Woodstock. The rural landscape was formerly farm and tobacco fields, lending a unique, rustic character to the golf course. The layout sprawls across 300 acres, winding through the scenic, wooded valleys of Otter, Cedar, and Spittler Creeks. Dick Kirkpatrick, one of Canada's top golf course architects, designed Otter Creek Golf Club. Kirkpatrick designed the course with players of all skill levels in mind, incorporating minimal forced carries and six sets of tees to make it more accessible for those who are new to the game

Conditions deteriorating
Greens , tee areas and fairways are in great condition .Bunkers are not maintained with large weeds growing around the perimeters. Clubhouse grounds are full of weeds and crab grass, overall maintenance is lacking. Beautiful facility starting to look rough and not maintained .
Out of the Way
Course was in great condition. A few quirky holes but all in all a difficult course.
Excellent
Good variety of holes. Course in excellent shape. Very friendly and helpful staff.
Great Course
Best course in the area, no doubt. Very challenging off the tee, fairways are mint and the transition from fringe to green are immaculate and the greens often roll very true.
Great As Usual
A little damp so the greens weren’t as quick as normal.
A little cloudy comfortable day, enjoyed it !!
Will be back.
Way Overrated
People in this area are fooled by his pretty course. There is nothing with as impressive vistas around. Three of the four par-5s are virtually identical. Long and curvy with a lot of trouble in the mandatory layup area. The fourth is the 18th. A semi-circular hole that is ridiculous. The par-3s are awful. Two are played, then the players drive back into the line of fire. I was hit once the first time the course. Cart was hit during the same round. The other two par-3s are unplayable. One is unholdable due to the severe front to back slope. The other has such a narrow green that players frequently chip back and forth until they give up.
The par-4s are very good, other than the 9th. They are varied in length and have doglegs in both directions.
The course is unwalkable with numerous long rides between holes. The long fescue really slows play. It is unfortunate that the layout is so poor, as the property has interesting natural land forms. If in the area play Tarandowah, Craigowan or Innerkip Highlands. All are vastly better.
Was a good experience. It’s a fun and interesting course to play. One negative…bunkers were in poor condition. Would been nice to enjoy dinner there, but no option right now.
Not for the beginning golfer
Usually play here 1-2 times a year. I am a 14 handicap and the course is extremely tough. You can lose a lot of balls. Some holes, I feel are extremely penal bordering on unplayable. PLAY THE RIGHT TEES ! The greens are well kept but have many undulations and are large. Lots of forced carries. Great patio overlooking the 18th hole. getting the right yardage is important. If you are up for a challenge this is the course for you. if you cannot break 100 I would suggest there are easier courses in the area to play.
Hard coarse but challenging who doesn't love a good challenge it was a rainy day staff gave us a rain check with no problem highly recommend this course
A Tough Course with Quick Greens
The wind was a little blustery today making a tough course even tougher. The greens were very quick...quicker than they need to be for the casual golfer. Some of the pins were in "Sunday placements" making it very tough to hold the putts on some holes. Maybe it's just me, but I want to have fun while being challenged...not frustrated! Also, raking the traps in the mornings ONCE, is not too much to ask for...or get rid of them...it has become an excuse now. Lastly, $7 for a roast beef sandwich should include more than 1 slice of roast beef! Wanted to stay for dinner, but sadly, only sandwiches and bbq fare available. Sorry, won't be rushing back.
Good but a little odd
Long course, need to be able to have all of your shots in your bag. A lot of high to low shots and vice versa. Make sure you play the proper tees, I’m a scratch player and struggle to shoot par from the blues tee. The 20+ mph wind didn’t help. The back nine is a bit confusing, I seemed to get turned around. Great staff the course was in tip top shape.
