Cherry Downs Golf and Country Club

My review would have been more favourable if it were not for the cart fees. I think it is actually shameful. I played this course for the first time walking and returned with friends a week later. It was too hot to walk (I learned that the previous week) so we decided to drive and were charged $30.00 each for a cart, which to me is shameful. We were a 3'some so I had my own cart. Their carts are really old and worn but they obviously function. The steering on my cart was messed up to the point that it completely gave out on the 5th as I was coming down the hill approaching the bridge, causing the cart to crash into the railing once I got on the bridge. Kudos to the staff rushing out to replace the cart and even the employee said that the carts are old and tired, offering me his apologies. Sustained a slight wrist strain in the crash but nothing to prevent me from continuing the round.

I normally walk when I play but haveobviously rented carts many times before. During Covid courses decided to really up their fees on carts but have never seen a charge of $30.00 a rider. It's disgusting.

Staff there are amazing and friendly and the course is a fantastic track that is really challenging, especially the greens. Good value if you are walking.

Good layout but the Marshall told us to.pick up.the pace 6 times. We never held anyone up and we were walking. Our round was about 4 hours and 45 minutes not fast but not ridiculous on a hot day. When we talked to the general manager he said it was course policy to constantly remind people to pick up the pace even if theyre not holding anyone up.Never had that happen so many times. No sorry. No excuses just abrupt . Golf now purchase with a Club Link attitude. Ruined our round.

First time playing Cherry Downs. The course was in great shape and I found the greens challenging compared to my regular course.

Only 1 hole had a poor layout, a par 5 on the back 9 that had the shape of an S.

We walked the course and it has hills so we were tired when we finished.

Because we walked we needed the ball washers and none of them had water in them. Why? Because their carts have washers.

Good value for us a non- Clublink members. We would definitely play again.

Excellent course with old growth trees throughout. Some challenging holes and nice par fives to let rip. Condition of green and fairways were very good and pace of play even with a 3pm tee time was good with marshals dropping in on us throughout to ensure pace. Will be going back sooner rather than later
