Pretty good

Nice course, greens running fast. They added two new holes during the renovations; not as exciting as the other 7.

Got the breakfast sandwich deal through golfnow. Breakfast sandwich was a little weak.

Pickering Golf, formerly Seaton

The course is in amazing shape, especially the greens. The greens are tricky with lots of undulations. The opening 3 holes are very challenging especially if you haven't warmed up properly. There is no driving range, so your first tee shots are usually very demanding. The par 3s are particularly daunting, even from the white tees. But for price and location, close to the city, this is a wonderful course to play. Whenever I play early mornings, as a single, I can finish 9 holes in an hour! amazing. The Golfnow hot deal is a steal. I pay more for a cart on most other courses!

Very nice

I decided to give it a try. I was not very sure since is only 9 holes and you can not see the course from the main road. However I was pleasantly surprised. I will become a regular in this facility.

nice course

fairways and greens were in good condition. it is a very tight course and demands accuracy.
only negative is the bunkers and cart paths, really rough.
also, golfnow did not advertise the fee as a 9 hole fee.
additional 9 holes actually costs more than the first 9. i would reccommend the course but bear in mind you are paying for 9 holes, not 18.

The course itself is excellent.. bring your A game and your thinking cap.

surrounded by trees and complimented with well placed white sand bunkers, water hazards and finely tuned greens that roll beautifully. Pickering gc is definately a hidden gem from the masses . It is not very forgiving to BEGINNERS . With 4 holes(1,2,3,and8) being carry shots and 5 holes(1,2,3,4and7)containing water, NO MATTER what your skill set is come preparred with an extra ball or two and a sense of humor.

Pickering Revisited!

I revisited this course after many years! We chanced upon some familiar faces, gazed at pictures and plaques on the walls... brought back great memories! Once a championship 18 hole course in the country, and after years of talks about losing it to urban development, they managed to keep half of it and revamped a beautiful 9 hole in the middle of suburbia, but still captured that rural atmosphere! I'm so glad I got to play this course again with my 86 year old dad, once senior club champion of Pickering Golf course.

Scenic

A nice and challenging 9 hole. The course itself is in great shape. It would be difficult to walk because of the many hills. The proshop and snack bar need a reno.

Challenging 9 hole

Tight fairways. Green were in good shape. Small and undulating. Lots of hills. Water and bunkers on several hole. Overall a fun round. Staff was very friendly and the Marshall, Rolly was very helpful with several pointers for our wives who are new golfers.

Was an alright outing; hole #9 had a lot of leaves!

Greens were punched when we played but the course itself wasn't too bad, considering it just re-opened this year after two+ years of renovations as a result of the recent housing developments built around the area.
The first two par threes are pretty tough but beautiful and the course overall is moderate in terms of level of difficulty.
That being said, there's really nothing that stands out with this course. It isn't immaculate, condition-wise, but gets the job done as a golf course. I'd say it's pretty comparable to a Tam O'Shanter and the like.

Course is somewhat challenging, especially the Par 3 holes

Please know this is NOT a 18 hole course but a 9 hole course. First time I played it and it was in great condition. Can be a little less expensive considering it's only 9 holes. I will definately go back but will look for cheaper rates on Golf Now to make it worth my while. Please update the website to a 9 hole facility.

Perfect 9 hole gem

I really enjoyed this course. It is in good shape, well maintained, and an interesting layout. Pure white bunker sand is some of the best in the city, and the greens were fast and very tricky when I played. Super friendly staff and a great deal on the tee time made it all the more enjoyable.

Fresh Start

Removed trees on old #7, now par 5. First hole now.
Added Bunkers on old #9 and #14
Added Pond between old #13 and #14
Took away tree from middle of fairway from old#13 par5.
Two new holes, short par 4's.
White sand in bunkers.
Practice green is old #6 green.
Need to keep maintained, soft fairways and no weeds. Will become popular 9 to play.
Need to carry over danger on 6 of the holes.
Course is fun with some challenging holes.
Old pro shop now with snack bar on the side.

New Start

A nice surprise, white sand in bunkers, added new pond, bunkers on #9 and #2(Old #14), made #1(Old #7) a par 5. It looks like they reseeded the greens and faiways to me. Two new holes are short par 4's. The course is fun mixed with difficulty, very tight and require carry over danger on six of the holes. The tree that blocked the approch on the par 5(Old#13) has been removed. Quite a few turkeys roaming about.
There is an opportunity if the fairways and greens can be maintained, soft and weed free, that this could become a popular 9 holes.
The new practice putting green is the old #6 green.
It is just hard getting the old Pickering course out of my mind.
