Black Diamond Golf Club

I've been coming to Black Diamond since this spring. I've usually had great time here because despite the terrible pacing of the course (always backlogged), the staff had made up for it by allowing my husband and i to refresh to hole 1 to not be waiting for the next hole all the time. Unfortunately the good relationship was severed last Saturday when i was mistreated by a staff named Neil.

There were a couple golfers ahead of my husband and i who were goofing around, putting after their hole was already done at every hole. No staff came by and we were extremely frustrated. At the 12th hole we wee finally able to flag down a staff by the name Neil and asked if we could go back to hole 1 instead of waiting as we've always done. He smirked and said yes so we went back and started. 4 holes in, after we've put in the driver shot, he came back saying since we've done the 4 holes so we had to leave. Not only did he rudely interrupt a play (common decorum should dictate he should ask us to leave at the very least after the hole was completed), but he emphasized he wanted to go home so he couldn't let us finish the holes we didn't get to play. It was 4pm.

The previous staff were very kind and made me want to revisit the course. However this situation left a very bad impression, particularly on the staff named Neil. He was extremely rude and arrogant. Not really sure why he's working where he hates it so much. I think the black Diamond will do much better without him or at least properly training him to take his attitude outside the workplace.

Played the course November 5th, 2016, cool but a sunny fall day. Place was a little slow, they have changed the lay-out since I played last time, by mixing the holes up it greatly improved the playing experience for this course. If you are in the area play it you will enjoy it I am sure.

Love the course was in great shape for this time of year. Well worth the drive .

Great course, with lots of elevation changes , beautiful, need to place ball correctly.

Pace of play was terrible. Spoke to marshal who did nothing about two groups of four in front of us They were searching in the woods and ponds for balls continually. We paid for 18 and left after nine. The tee blocks were hacked to death. Garbage, cigarette butts and broken tees all over the place. Watched the marshal throw a cigarette butt from his cart to the ground after blowing smoke on us It may be a nice course but our experience was terrible. Sounds of the Hwy 115 was annoying and not scenic at all. I would not recommend black diamond to anyone until they speed the pave up. I'm not a big fan of shared greens either. The eigth green is shared( think its 8) which I'm not a fan of. Had a ball land between my feet. Dangerous

Played Friday afternoon, was very slow when we caught up to the groups ahead at the 5th hole. Front nine took 2.5 hours to play, two groups were waiting on the 10th tee.

The Marshall said it was backed up all the way through the back 9 and let me go back to the front nine and play it again.

Glad he offered that. I finished the 9th hole when the group I was playing with was just getting to the 15th tee.

Through GolfNow hot deal I teed off at 2:16. 18 holes with a cart for less than $24!!

Slow people in front had us waiting all the time, yet, still got done in under 4 hours? So no complaints with pace of play I suppose.

Tee decks are beat up but rest of the course is in good condition especially considering the semi-drought in southern Ontario this summer.

Very challenging course. Best golf value I've scored this summer.

Glad cart was included.

Do NOT walk this course.

If you're a fan of elevation changes you're in luck. It's mountain goat.

This is a good paced course and fairly challenging. You will enjoy it.

Played the course about a month ago, and it was very dry and brittle due to the lack of rain. However, this time around the recent rain had greened things up considerably, so the course was in excellent condition Saturday.

There was a wedding going on so we ended up playing the front nine twice so we could keep moving along quickly. The marshal made the suggestion, and we're thankful for his flexibility.

This is a mature course with some tough holes, but it's a nice test of golf and the layout is pretty nice. Most holes are completely different from one another, which is nice.

Don't hesitate in saying it's worth the drive to get there!

We booked day before and got great rate and service at this lovely golf course...conditions were dry as we have a long heat wave in place over 30 c every day. Course was green where it mattered. Greens excellent and fast. A lot of holes are tricky with safe layups needed...helps to play a few times. Definitely will return. BTW a cart is a must as their are very long walks between most greens to tees

Before beginning our round, we were greeted by the pro shop staff who were extremely friendly and had amazing customer service. Off the first tee, the starting marshall controlled the pace of play, which remained excellent throughout the round. The course itself is in great shape, with beautiful green fairways and greens. The greens played firm, with a bit of roll resulting in a challenging day. All the putts rolled quickly, but played true, which led to some rewarding moments on the green. We called the kitchen on the 9th tee and ordered some food and were on the 10th tee in only a few minutes. The only disappointing thing about the round was the temporary fairway "green" on 12, which led us to pick up our balls and skip to the 13th - hopefully the usual green will be ready to go soon! Overall, a challenging and excellent course. I will definitely be back again.

This course has been rearranged. It used to be two very different nines needing two different sets of skills.That charm has now been lost. The greens were very hard on this trip and would bounce from the front off the back.

Bottom line is that one of my favourite courses has become one I wont rush to play again anytime soon.

Weather was hot but great. For how dry it's been lately, the course was in great shape.
